Just subscribed. Would you take this or the Platypus? I know the Platypus is more expensive but i was thinking about throwing the same amount into this one.
Excellent video and suggestions. I picked up one about three weeks ago. I love it. So it's the main spring housing that really determines the ease of racking? I'm new to this platform so I want to make sure I get things done right. Mine is heavily sprung and I do wan't the ease of press checking and racking it. My trigger appears to be around 5lbs, but if I can get it in the 3's I will be good because I may eventually carry it.
The main spring housing get a 17 pound or 16 pound and also your recoil spring those two dictates the slide is of racking & also the middle part of the Seer Spring you have to tweak that just a tad bit like force nice pullbacks to get the trigger lighter
What tool less guide rod did you purchase from Dawson did you order? Was it the prodigy one? Also I purchased the spring kit with three sizes and the medium seems to work like butter but doesn't give an actual weight. Gun looks great
@@1791_2A I had my eye on the 2023 Tac but now I’m waiting for the 2024 EDC Pro, that comes with a ported barrel. I know the mags are proprietary. But it’s cheaper than staccato mags. I just shot the prodigy and it’s crazy flat! Just not sure how I feel about the reliability, I heard they fixed it but maybe I’ll get it for a range gun. The platypus is nice, just don’t feel like waiting 7-12 weeks. What’s your thoughts on the Shadow Systems MR920P? I should be picking it up Thursday.
Liked and subscribed! Great review! I have couple of questions, what would you recommend for the recoil spring as far as lbs and brand? Also, 2lbs trigger pull is too light for my liking so what would you recommend to do to achieve 3.5-4 lbs? Change the sear/sear spring maybe? If so, which brand? Thanks for your help man.
@@Rhamlin7 that’s a tough one, but if I had to choose, I will say Apollo if you wanna put it in the future, but if you don’t want to put it then I will say Mac overall

Well, if you don’t own the platypus, I will go with that first then I will grab this second because I have both

@@1791_2A Where did you get your springs? Atlas? Wilson?
@@dnut1987 atlas
@@1791_2A Great! I already have the springs in the Atlas cart and will checkout now. I appreciate the guidance.
The lighter the Rico spray the easier you can rack the slide. You also want to need a 17 pound main spring.

Nice 2011 Pistol ! Gotta get me one too ❤ lol. You made great upgrades !
Any way to add a compensator to this or port the barrel ?
Looks good homie can’t wait to see the final product
What main spring housing did you use?
17lbs
How does this stack up to the springfield prodigy. Thoughts on platypus and the bul armory sas ii tac?
It’s great don’t get tha bul it’s proprietary

You can get cheaper mags like Atlas mags, or the prodigy mag also will work inthe staccato

It’s a 4.25 guide rod u’ll need a 8/9 lbs spring & sear spring work jus a little bit of tweaking
@@1791_2A Thank you!!!
You just adjust the sear spring to your liking. My gun is around 3.25 #s
I ended up grabbing a girsan 2311. It was faulty out of the box lol. Ive fixed the issues but that mac is better with the bul barrel
Hows the slide to frame fitment? Is it as tight as the Prodigys?
Yes it is fitment is superb
Hey bruh, did you change out the recoil spring? If so what weight spring? 😎
Yes I did change it out with an toolless guide rod with 11 lbs & I have an 9lbs spring as well b4 I ported it
Love my MAC 9 DS 4.25”. I have the Holosun 507c with a x300 ub
Good video and info. That Lil 2011 tuff af!
How did you take the plate off to put a red dot on
Just remove the two screws on the optic plate

Ohh very small flat head like the kind u use for eyeglasses repair
Good review. Is this your favorite 2011?

It comes machined internals? For that price? Wow
Yupe machine parts
You got some badass pistols

Good video. 2 lbs trigger is too light on a defensive gun, though. Stay safe!
Good video bro
Might get one commander size my prodigy 5", trigger 2.5 thanks skip
🔥🔥🔥
but does it air rack
Of course it does I’ll make a utube short
One way for the ATF to take your guns away. You lied on you application for drug use😂😂😂😂😂

1lb and 99 ounces is like 7 pounds total. I think you meant 1lb and 9.9 ounces
Less than 2lbs on a trigger is borderline negligent
Nah 😂it’s perfect 4 me I’m use 2 that trigger weight it’s on all my guns & my edc rotation
Fudd ! Its a 2011. These are competition guns and if you do carry it it still has a thumb and grip safety . Stick to 12 lb DAO revolvers then man
