Love this. I like your teaching method and how you get right to the point. Also love your animals. I laughed when I saw just the tail of the cats and the dogs having fun. Thanks for another excellent video.
The babies are never too far! The big guy passed away in January so it was a nice surprise to see him in this video. I didnt realize I had this video made, I found it in my archive yesterday!
@@SewGnar I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember seeing your posts on Facebook. They really are our children aren't they? I have a video of my beloved Sophia that I occasionally drag out and watch. She always makes me laugh. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you for a very achievable and attractive project. I teach migrant, refugee and unemployed women to sew, and this will be a great bag for them to learn about zippers and linings, as well as boxed corners, and measuring and cutting accurately. Can't wait to start the new term, and will definitely refer them to your work ☺☺
I loved your tutorial. I also liked how you made the liner slightly smaller than the size of the bag so that the liner is snug up against the wall of the bag.
Thanks so much. The big one passed away in January so it was really fun to see him in the video today. I didn’t realize I made this video, I found it in my archives on my computer!
I think this is about the 2nd or third time watching this video because I keep forgetting who did it, so I go into my youtube channels and there you are. I love the way you explain everything so easy as if we are doing show and tell. Love this pouch.❤❤❤😂 thank you.
I tried four times on this and paid close attention to your every word. The fourth one cam out perfect (in my opinion anyway) Thank you so much for your time and great tips🎉😊

I like this a lot. I’m nervous about the zipper, but you didn’t seem to stress over it a whole lot, so I am going to give it a try. I’ve put in several zippers, and my stitching always goes a little wonky (even with the zipper foot). I am going to try your glue idea.
New follower here. Your video has now made me want to try cork ! I've only been sewing a few months and have a very basic machine but I think I can do it. 😁 I love doing easy purses and pouches although right now I'm needing new and easy patterns for Christmas gifts. 🌲 You mentioned your FB group but I didn't see a link to it. Can't wait to watch more of your videos. Love the furbabies. 🧡
Just saw u on my feed. Very nice work.❤️. I'm a jack of many trades but zippers scare me!! Lol this looks easy. Will give it a try. Now I'm going to see what else you have.
Loved this tutorial, especially since you didn't have to go to the iron! Regarding the glue, does it gum up your needle? I'm fairly new to sewing and watching videos on these little bags, Your video was by far the simpliest to follow. Thank you so much! I absolutely love the cork you used! Your pups and kittys cameos are great!😍
Great tutorial! Thank you! You speak well and are very clear with your instructions. I bought some cork fabric awhile ago but wasn't sure how to sew with it! Now I have something to make with it! I really like your tips for gluing the zipper in place before sewing it and how to make the lining nest better inside the bag. Enjoyed seeing the dog and cats in the video too!
Super directions. I was able to make one with a waterproof (nearly) bottom by using a patterned vinyl shelf liner. I'm not sure how durable the material will be and I did have to fight with a tendency for it to stretch, but I'm still in beginner mode and learning with each make. Wondering if the addition of external tabs and hardware would set this up to be a cross-body? Thanks loads.
I really enjoy your style of teaching. Also, wanted to know about the glue, I see you sew the seam immediately after putting the glue on. I found the brand you use on Amazon but in the remarks it says not to sew after it dries. Is the key to sew it before it dries? It doesn’t mess up your needle? Thanks again for the great tutorial and pattern. I love the two-tone and with cork.
Hey, How you doing? Can I ask, what glue do you use please? Seems to save a lot of time instead of basting. Thanks for sharing, great video very straight forward instructions and a quick make. Cheers
You’re excellent ! I am new to sewing , love bags , but not confident yet …been watching videos to learn and willing to jump into bags next year. Your tips are great and rare as I have been watching lots of videos . Example : L on the lining is best tip I have seen! As well as the seam allowance being wider in the lining so that it sits better inside and not bunch up …. Wow 🤩 great tips !! I will be binge watching your channel! You will get new subs …. It will grow. You make great teaching videos. We all enjoy having the masters like yourself teach us with great tips. I appreciate you helping us become better at a new skill… for me sewing is a new skill. Have a very merry Christmas 🎄!
I have made this bag several times with the zipper tail. I love your labels and the clean lines without the zipper tail so think I will make a few more. Does the glue dry fast and does it cause any gumming of the needle? Thanks for this video!
This is awesome. you make great tutorials, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I am curious, for the 3” bottom, could you cut an 1.5” notch and the bring the seams together? Similar to how you did the Dopp kit?
HI Patti, Thank you so much for sharing your awesome creativity. I really love this project and would love to attemept to make some. What is the benefit of only topstitching the exterior fabric to the zipper; and not including the lining? I’ve seen tutorials that topstitch both together. Thanks
I find that it creates a cleaner finished product because sometimes the lining stitching will not look as good as the exterior. You can absolutely pull the lining down and topstitch it along with the exterior tho!

Hi, could you share where you buy your cork material? I bought some, but wasnt happy with the quality.
Fabric Funhouse, use code SEWGNAR10 for 10% off your order!
I just realized you did not mention the name of the glue. Can you please post the name?
Generally that info is always in the description box, but it’s beacon fabri-tac
Is the black cork as well? I’m new to sewing with cork, do you ever need to reinforce it with stabilizer? (Will it stick?)
The outside (tan and black) is cork and inside is fabric. No need to stabilize the cork, but generally a light stabilizer for the inside material.
I’ve just now started to stabilize the cork on my bigger, expensive bags, but like the other comment said, it’s not needed! For 8 years I never interfaced the cork, I just like it on giant bags.
Oh sorry, I didn’t read all the other comments. Thank you
Do you have to wait for the glue to try before you sew. If not doesn’t the needle get all glue on it?
It dries extremely quick, no issue with the needle.
Love the help but what is the glue you are using?
Beacon FabriTac!
Just wondered if you have had any issues with the boxed corners and dyed cork? Are you treating your boxed corners with glue or base edge coat? Any tips would be appreciated
I’m not. With wear the color will come off the cork as with any textile. I haven’t had any complaints!
What fabric did you use on bottom please? Thank you
The exterior is all cork!
