There are UA-cam videos on Europe within the last 100 to 200 years about the extent of land changes, its amazing so we shouldn't be surprised that Ghana too had lands changing hands.
If I was in Ghana I would buy this man a quality camera just so he can start his own UA-cam channel and produce more of these knowledgeable videos
Good
Asantes defeated all the coastal troops
educate yourself properly. The Gas were never conquered by the ashantis
@@spankybartol1399 Who lied to you
I went how Ashantis was found
It’s crazy that the British needed additional army from 3 West African countries to face the Ashantis. Wow!!!!!!
Cuz they were unfamiliar with the terrain. There was no definite and concrete map of West Africa.
@@adinorteyKofi It somewhat appears as if the Ashanti’s dominated the area of what is now known as Ghana/Ivory Coast and parts of Togo that the British needed to go outside of that area to seek support to face the Ashantis. That’s what it seemed like.
@@adinorteyKofifoolishness, the fights were in Ghana/Gold Coast what are you talking about west Africa? Foolish boy! Stop the foolishness
And with the Dodowa war, i don't think the Asante fought against themselves because Asante have been to war many times with different divisions and they know how they play their war drums so I don't buy the idea that they fought themselves. Yaw Akoto didn't plan for the war well and also you left the part where the Asante lost the golden stool, but with fierce fighting from Kontanasehene Nana Antwi Panin and Dwabenhene Nana Boaten, they were able to recapture the golden stool
The Asante lost the Segranti war because the Europeans were equipped with better weapons
Games of Thrones stuff.
I hope a very detailed series will tell the story very well. I hope a director and producer who have the resources invest in this history.
So many inaccuracies! Kwaku Arkaa was hounded for his kotoko alliance with Ashanti. The Fantis were tricked into signing the Bond of 1844 and they protested soon afterwards. The reason the bulk of the Ashanti army was absent from Kumasi in 1874 was that they prepared to confront the coastal forces at Fomena . Instead the British attacked from the east through the Kwahu areas, the preferred route into Ashanti by the Basle missionaries.
You need to do more research Kwadwo on Kaku ACKAH
😅
Asante - Nzema alliance date back just within the early formative period of Asante rising into an empire. Primarily, after Asante broke the wings (Aowin) of Denkyira.
As at the time Asante did not know the boundary of nzemaa so did make some incursion against some nzema subjects (just about 2 years before the demise of Osei Tutu I). This brought about a conflict...In fact, it was in this fight that asante realized the strength of Appolonia as the nzemas were advanced in weaponry (of course due to the fact that they had dealings with the whites for a long time).
So, it was not because of the Asante alliance necessarily (even though some historians may subjectively create such impression). Apolonia or Nzemas were well known for their opposition of white rule about 300 years before asante became a nation (I think you should know that). It is because of the opposition that nzema strength subsided over the centuries. By late 1530 some factions had emerged i.e. the Ahantas/Nyindas, the Essumans (2013 census of Essumans were only 300 in Cote D'Ivoire), and Gyamans (who became prominent until Asante incursion).
Kaku Ackah was opposing the white man rule as a tradition; as almost all kings of the Nzemas before him had opposed white rule (the reason why the whites never brought formal education to their shores as the antagonism was deep). It is because of their consistent opposition that got Nzema divided into several groups as some of them occasionally sided the whites then later revolted. A typical case is the Ahanta people. As a faction who sided with the white man agenda later on revolted which brought about the Axim/axima/axema (mispronunciation of nzima by the dutch) wars.
However, Kaku Ackah deepened his alliance with Asante more than the traditional way, as he himself was on conquest to bring all formal subjects under Nzema before Asante grabs them all (which he eventually failed to achieve due to dissident in his own government). His deepening of Asante alliance was rather strategic both to maintain his hold and to avoid asante from taking areas he had already conquered.
In perspective, it was a two-edge sword scenario why Kaku Ackah was targeted by the British, (1) on or by traditional position and the would-to conquer formal territory and (2) The deepening of Asante alliance and its eventual consequences that may affect the coastal belt (I mean fantes, Gas and the rest).
So my brother Kwadwo do further research to find out.
It's full with fallacies
More lies and lies. Geeezzzzzz
this story is inaccurate, the Ashantis were conquered by the Gas alone. you can preach as much as you can . the Katamanso war was WON by the Gas, aided by nana Dokuaa(a lady king of the Akyem people) addo agyiri of akwapim who were allies of the Ga state. stop distorting the history. in the past tribe align themselves to each other due to the continuous wars
Ah this man is very silly. How can you try to make fun of one's leader?
You can try this on us and you will see.😂
Where do you come from? Talk about your own people and leave the Ashantis alone. You just make them popular.
he is an asante. what is your problem?
