Who can narrate the Ga history better than a Ga? Yes I have listened to his narrative though he did his best to enlighten some people in a best way that he could, he didn't quite get it accurately enough. I will say fairly accurate. The Ga people totally beat the Ashanti people at the Katamanso war single handedly. The evidence is still there.
Also the Ga people have always believed in one God whom they call Ataa Naa Nyomor. It was later that some few Ga people began to mimic the Ashanti's by bringing in the Otigali worship. But even that didn't take root. As a young girl when I was growing up a day before homowo my grandmother will ask us all to go to bed early and before going to bed all the doors posts will be maked with red clay as iconic representation to symbolise the Passover as stipulated in the Bible. I witnessed my grandmother and the rest of our relatives using hyssop for purification ritual the same way as in the Bible. History is better told by the people themselves. It is better coming from the horses own mouth. Having said that he has done his best to enlighten some people . Thanks

Ma dear, I think he tells us the history from official history he's learnt. History is history it doesn't matter where one comes from. If a Ga has studied history, he can as well give us his version. Until then lets give him the benefit of the doubt.

This is not true. Not all Northern tribes were influenced by Arabs. The Gonjas in the north migrated to Ghana already circumcised before islam religion. They have traditional people whose lineage are specialized to perform circumcision. So traditionally any male child in Gonja land is circumcised after a week and it has nothing to do with Islam. Most of them converted to Islam in recent years. Traditionally, It's the circumcision that differentiates a real Gonja from captured tribes. So if you're not circumcised, it means you're not a real Gonja and therefore you cannot become a King or chief in Gonja land. So i think the reason you gave applies to only the Akan royals who do not circumcise. And i think Dagombas and the mamprusis also circumcise not because they are influenced by Arabs. There are no arabs in Ghana to influence any tribes.

@@sylvesterkwadwoa2167 Azumah Nelson's mother was madam Comfort Atwei Quarcoo( that's a Ga indigenous name) and his father was Emmanuel Teilo Nelson(another Ga name of Brazilian origin) from Tabon family house of Ga mashie. The Tabon originally came from Brazil. The reason why we call him Azumah might be because of his strength. During their days there was this particular soap known as Azumah soap. That soap was very strong and since he was very strong himself, people might started calling him Azumah, and that might be how he got the name Azumah. Or maybe his parents just decided to add the Azumah to his name to honour a friend or someone they knew. Don't let the name Azumah fool you to overthink. He is not a frafra. He is a Ga from the Tabon family house in Accra. You can research on the Tabon people, that would help your understanding a bit. Or better still research on Azumah Nelson himself.

@@joeyknight4001 You are very right. Azumah is even a Ga (Tabon) name. My mother's eldest brother is called Azumah. We are Tabons and have a lot of Azumah(s) in our family. Many of the returnees from Brazil were of the Islamic faith so they had Islamic names. This led to the Tabons having corrupted versions of Islamic names now. My mum is called Sheifiratu (Sheifi) and I have aunties with names like Aminatu, Mamunatu, Abibatu, Abiana, Adjaratu, Lekia, etc. I have uncles called Aruna, AZumah, etc. The Tabons still have Portuguese surnames currently; names like Nelson, Vialla, Gomez, Peregrino, Ribeiro, Morton, Fiscian, Souza, Silva, Olympio and Cardoso. My mom is a Nelson and my dad is a Ribeiro.

You are such a horrible creature, what has this man said that makes him bitter. What is bitter of the history he recounts? Yes there are dividing lines (debatable) about history but all that he says has sources, that other historians have written including further research he himself has done. You don't have a humble heart nor intelligence to listen to historical accounts with dividing lines and courageously put yours across except to say he is bitter? aaaaah! Your statement is waaay childish... oh, when when, daben da...

I think you don't follow their episodes very well. The Man only speaks facts! I understand a lot of people have hates for the Asantes that has made some of you also angry and ready to defend Asanteman. Which is very understandable. But hey bro, I've listened to almost all the episodes of this program and I can tell you that, he only speaks facts! 😊
Most of the Asantes who follow this program would have 'pounced' on him if he had said something different from what most historians know. Some of us have come to accept that indeed Asanteman has done a lot for Ghana and they deserve all the attention they are getting... Peace! 😊

@@excelcee8055 oh yes I have read a lot of books, and I clearly get what sources the lawyer is referencing in his oral accounts of Asante history vis-à-vis the reality and the prominence of Asante in the affairs of Ghana. Although there are occasions where he may have slipped in certain dates or events but those are normal and understandable since he's not reading the history from a book but recounting them based on sources and researches he has read.
Admittedly, there some areas of history that is disputed but a careful look of the indept sources the lawyer based his history from, is not only remarkable but amazing (emphasis mine). Hardly do we have an historian who compares several sources then do analytical conclusion, but lawyer does that, and even better, he goes further to do personal verification in some cases (like the battle of Nsamankow)...
My point is that even if some of his accounts may be challenging to you, have the patience to dig deeper. When you do, you will realize that lawyer anokye has no evil intent to abuse Asante... He genuinely portrays issues where Asante matters. And as you know, Asante was powerful enough to be involved in a lot of other people's affairs, hence the reason why he keeps on bringing Asante stuff in other people's history...
My brother, there are somethings that you grew up with believing they were the de facto truth or reality of Asante history, that may not be an actual representation of facts based on evidence or other sources registered by other historians. We only have to be humble enough not to antagonize someone who is just recounting his historical findings. It is not healthy to paint people black when you don't even know them. I hope you get my point...
