Great video, my blinds at my apartment havent worked since probably i moved in, now they want tk charge me 160 to replace them. Im going to try this and see if my wheel thing is cracked. But my question is if i turn 2/3 blinds open then i can open the rest with the string. Could that be causing them to spin freely like yours did?
Hi, Brian. Great instructions! Thank you for the video. So, would you have any idea why half of the mini blinds in my house have started to hang on one side? I realize it could be caused by many factors (age, cost, material, etc.), but are you aware of any mechanical reasons this is happening? I solicit your feedback, and THANK YOU in advance. 😕
I wish I could see a picture. The other string hands how the sides go down I guess that might be causing some issues. Not a blinds expert :) - I would take a picture and post it on Reddit. Hopefully they can give you some answers.
When you put the string back on the wheel, how many times did you wrap it around? My blinds are old and the parts are metal and not very much string is not wrapped around the wheel. I don't know how that happened.
Hi Brian - I am having the same issue where I pulled the double strings side of the blinds too hard and I heard a click sound and now it no longer opens and shuts, so I think I broke the pully mechanism inside. What is that part called?
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to show how things work under the hood!

Very helpful. Fixed my issue. Thank you.
Glad it helped
Hi Brian, will these steps work the same way if instead of strings the blind had a stick to rotate the blinds to open and close?

Very informative video
Is there anything else you can use to fix the crack ? As I don’t have epoxy
Would like to know what the part is called to replace it
Tilt Mechanism is the keywords I used to find it.
