It was a blast watching you riding your trails very confidently! Thanks and keep on riding. Maybe I will buy an Amflow, I am very intrigued and you did a good job showing that it is a lot of fun!
You can deduce gear postion with a simple formula based on ground speed and RPM or Kadence on a bike. I do this for my datalogger / display I built for my e30.
Answering how it knows what gear you are in - It measures speed and cadence, and settings in the app tell it what chainring and cassette. I think it works it out from that. Enjoy it. 🙂
Great review.. like how you tested the bike "out of the box", will be interesting to see if the dji motor ends up being used in other makes.. if not i'm already sold will be my next ride 100% 👌
@pikefisherman1978 I'll be interested to see how this bike handles some DH. I think there will be alot of manufacturers begging dji to be able to use the avinox system, if this motor system proves reliable then who's gonna want to buy a bike without it? I also think the dreadnought or anything else specing this motor will be a ton more money than an Amflow bike.
@@dave_waudby one thing is for certain, the other motor brands will respond but how? will it be either with price, performance or both? my opinion its written in the stars, which would your average ebiker perfer from the future either going up a climb at 14mph instead of 10mph or improved waterproofing/longevity? answer is both, bosch yamaha shimano have to respond otherwise its game over for them.
Nice video… Interesting to see a really good review and on my local trails also… I wonder how all the leaves got cleared off the main trail last week 😂😂❤ (thank me later haha)
I did 22.5 miles and 3000 ft of climbing and finished off with 30% battery left. I was in turbo and boost alot of the time, I wasn't careful at all with how I used the battery so I thought that was pretty good going.
Have you ever riden an Orbea Rise? I have thee 2022 M10 and it's the best handaling bike I've ever had. Looking at the frame silhouette, dimensions and geo on the Amflow, they look very close, mabe even a clone. If you have, I'd appreciate your view on the similarity, or lack of it for descending, in the air and such. I appreciate that there is a vast power difference. I promised myself that the next ebike I buy will have a MGU but these are sorely tempting
@dave_waudby Thx I'll look out 4 it. Regarding my original point, have you ever ridden an Orbea Rise to the degree that you can make a comparison on the handling? TIA.
I got large, it's slightly smaller than my s4 SL but I'm on the border between medium and large for size so a large thats on the smaller size for me is perfect. If your borderline large then deffo go large and if your borderline xl deffo size up and go xl
Thanks for the review, I’m very tempted to get one of these, the specs are crazy!
Looks a really clean design.

You'd love it 👌
Can’t believe how fast you got up that hill at the bottom of elloughton dale 😂 My Rise crawls up that hill
The power from the motor is ridiculous considering its size
Mega trails, would love these on my doorstep, we have some great places locally but all have no cycling signs and everyone moans at you if you do 🤯

Cheers mate, it's a clever piece of kit, amazing tech.

Cheers mate, got some tweeking to do on the suspension and in the App. Techy downhill and mountain riding vids to come. You'll love the bike 👍
I think the new Forbidden Dreadnought uses the DJI system

Great Riding and some funny bits 😂 random question what psi you running on your tryes?
I run rimpact inserts with tubeless setup. 17psi front and 21psi rear.

Now then pal been looking at a new bike ! Seen a cube 144tm 5.5 k not sure if I should try get a dji or not ? What do lot think ?
Demo the amflow, light and agile yet full power(too much power really) but the weight swung it for me not the power. So far I love it.
