Loved this conversation so much. For the longest, I have been learning to create boundaries with my relationship and family. So glad that I am getting there!❤️
Hey Wanjiru 💕 Thank you!
Idk if it's just me but I feel like if i was a man, I'd totally marry Jules♥️ like she is just so genuine and sweet uuugh😩😩 love her♥️♥️
Aaww... Love Right Back hon!
Shes such a doll!! Then we would be cohusbands 😆😍
@@hendritahwanjala3101 hahahaa
Right??? Jules is BAE❤️
Been my thoughts since the first day I watched her...
The way I see it, it's like inviting someone to my house. I give them access to my living room, everything in my kitchen, guest bathroom, yard etc. But I keep my bedroom locked. And the guest figures they should have access to that also because they have access to everything else in my compound (true story).
You're in my space. I control the boundaries. Be happy with what you get.
Well said
Oh my gosh you've put it so well...and also influencers shouldn't be pressured to feel like they "owe us" their privacy.wooow..well put
Even when you invite guests, you decide what you serve them and what you don’t. No one says now that you have invited me you have to serve me everything you have.
Hiii Ivyy!! Haha trusttt I have had this battle of what I should share and what I shouldn't share for the longest time... But also my husband is so private hence why I hide him... but if it was up to me, Id so gladly show him only because I think its okay to share with boundaries ofcourse. Loved this video btw
Pro tip : you can watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.
@Abdullah Rex yea, been using Flixzone for years myself :)
You guys should continue doing the videos at this venue. The audio is so clear (No echoes)
Why oh why don’t they teach boundaries in school? Boundaries are about respecting personal spaces and being okay with people’s choices. Great conversation as always ladies.Congratulations Shikie on your adorable baby girl, obviously this episode was done just before baby came ❤️
Eeeh the consistency the past few weeks is what we have been needing. Thank God it's Monday
Thank you!
We love it
I echo this sentiment

# About keeping your relationship private ,,, people can't ruin what they don't know ,,,or while dating keep it private until your sure it's permanent, ..my thoughts tho
I'm not yet 25. 21 to be precise..but Lord knows I started watching this as early as 19... anyways🤍
Chiillee!!! SAME 😂🔥
Me tooo....they've really grown ❤️
Me too
😂😂😂
Forget about the numbers and use the block button religiously! You don't need negative energy in your space (group and personal pages/accounts). You will end up with a tight circle of followers who love your personalities, respect you, and support your content and growth.
This is the comment for me 💓
Everyone of you gals is dope in your own way. Love me some Shikie, some Julz, some Ivy, some Lornzie ❤️❤️❤️
It’s the consistency for meeeee😍😍👏🏽
Loved and enjoyed this episode. I didn't even realize the video ending. The realness and authenticity of the topic is amazing
Am more convinced Ivy and I are kindred spirits
"do what you want, life is too short "
As a psychologist, this has been so interesting to watch and hear all your opinions 😊
And what's your opinion? Jules x
Well, I believe everyone has valid reasons for what they choose to share or not share. And for many public figures, their viewers do tend to feel entitled to their lives which is totally normal. For viewers, they may be really invested and feel really close to public figures, view them as parents, siblings, best friends and when they feel left out of certain events, then it may trigger feelings of being unwanted in the relationship they believe they have created and invested time in. For the public figures on the other hand, followers or fans are sooooo many, there is no personal connection. It will therefore never be as easy as black and white to say this is what I can share or not, or for followers to accept it. But on both accounts it is human nature to seek connections by feelings like you are part of someone's life and also to choose what is private or public in the simplest or most complex sense. So for me, I would never say anyone is right or wrong for what they choose to share to the public, people will always have both agreeable and opposing opinions anyway 🤷🏿♀️
Jules is murdering that outfit..:) love it
I rarely post anything on my social media even WhatsApp... But my mouth has it's own mind, it'll tell everyone when I'm in day 2 dating someone😂😂😂
😂😂

The excitement was tamed here in a good way 🤗 bcoz that helped me hear and understand everyone's points easily in comparison to other videos
You're entitled to what you want to keep private. Negative energy is not invited, keep doing what you do giiirls! Some of us literally look forward to these videos. Lots of love and keep up the energy
IT'S THE CONSISTENCY FOR ME. 👌♥️😩
Asante
heads 200k by the end of the year
I no longer have Monday blues. Thanks to these girls♥️
Boundaries... such a journey for ourselves , close circle and just people who know us , even strangers... such a broad topic. love it! ❤️
I honestly feel like we are being invited into YOUR journey. You choose what to put out and with that we consume. I can’t and shouldn’t dictate what you put out. YOU ARE THE JUDGE AND FINAL SAY!!! Period!!!!
This is a great episode. Privacy is Important for one's mental health.
I love the consistency 😙sikuizi mnatutibu na videos everyweek. I love you guys. #roadto100k #silverplaybutton♥️
Loved the discussion. This needs to be talked about more. My issue is influencers referring to themselves as celebrities. Celebrity kwangu is Akina Maina, Jimmy Gathu, Caroline Mutoko. Like countable on our fingers. And these guys are huuuuuummmble!!!! Lakini generally Kenyans priorities ni food, shelter, basic needs. We really don't lose oxygen over their personal lives. It's entertainment shoved down our throats by blogs. We really are just hustling, it's never that serious.
Personally I’m a bit confused on the “mind your business line” most people use nowadays. If you post something it’s now everyone’s business so it’s weird when ppl post them when ppl discuss it guys are asked to mind their business. I see it happening a lot even with non influencers.
Anyhu, I think I’m with Ivy on this one..... just post whatever you feel like and respect the people around you, there rest are strangers.
All in all I love your content ladies, please keep them coming 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I love how genuine you guys get keeping things on the low is important Jules is super funny 🥰

Love you guys😍and this conversation❤
Jules my Kenyan crush, period!
Present! Superb content!!👊🏾
Julez is such a viiiiibe!!!!
Good morning ladies....asante for the upload👍🏿
When i think of boundaries i think of the Obamas; i just realized that i know close to nothing about their daughters' lives even though we have seen photos of them.
Maybe this conversation should also be heard from the "fans" perspectives
Morning😊😊😊lovely way to start the week 🥰🥰🥰
Juleeesss I totally relate to the God help me statement 😂😂😂😂😂😂
can't wait for 100k😩😩
I think the line is being blurred between TV/reality/youtube. I've seen young kids talk about their favorite UA-camr the way we used to talk about Jimmy Gathu but we knew he was on a TV show, vs the kids believe UA-camrs are showing their real life. On the other hand, vulnerability and the "just like me" effect is what makes for an emotional connection and a true community - I think its impossible to connect with viewers if you are not showing anything of your personal life, unless you are 100% a news channel or sth. Well actually, even news anchors we know their whole business nowadays, we never used to know anything about Lydia Manyasi's or Njoroge Mwaura's personal life lololol. 🤷🏾♀️
Loved how you shared the backend of a content creator's journey. Insightful:)
New subscriber here, watching you for the first time and I know I'm gonna be binge watching all your videos. You have great content. Ivy I'm your fan already

I always love your conversations, very relatable.
Loved every bit of this conversation!!!
As an influencer you get paid to influence the public to consume a product dont you think its only fair they feel entitled to your actions or life. As a celebrity you cant pick and choose the attention you get! It was your conscience decision to put yourself out there, as you said there are people who are negative and positive out here. I think there are influencers that are also “entitled”. But anyway i love you Ivy and Julia you’re too pretty! Cheers.
Loving you very much

Ivy and Shiks have mentioned something very important about parents being careful to not glamorize their kids at the expense of a child's comfort. It's reminded me of a show I watched where the keynote speaker was saying that some parents these days take kids for dolls. Just dolls that walk, talk and do "humanly" things continually glamorizing kids without their consent which can be very wrong.
I'm not sure how I feel about content creators or "social media influencers" -- although one may call my view points hypocritical because I do watch some of these channels, but would I create a channel myself and put myself out there? for better or worse? No. Why? because especially for those in Kenya, what is the point? The money just isn't there. So, why open yourself up to public scrutiny and public criticism for such little or in many cases, for no money?
America is different with it's celebrities that make millions of dollars a year, but even advertisers on youtube will pay significantly more for US watchers because they know they have the incomes to pay for their products & that's why the rates in Africa are so low -- the consumers just aren't there) - but when I think about others like the Wajesus family, who I watched once for 2 minutes & had to turn off (too fake for me) ...why do they do it? They're not making much and is it honestly sustainable? Can they keep doing it into their 40's or 50's? I doubt it. Why? because there's no underlying skill accompanying the talking. Do they sing? do they act? Are they authors? research scientists working on a new drug?
in the US, you'll see older youtubers but they'll usually be talking about non-personal issues & most will have succeeded FIRST (off youtube) in a particular field. E.g. chef's like Rachel Ray or Gordon Ramsey; Investment managers that own their own firms explaining economics & how to invest; Entrepreneurs that run successful businesses, etc ..so, they're giving advice based on their real world success, but in Kenya, based on my anecdotal sampling, it's just people talking about personal issues & I"d say 90% is about dating, marriage; Like what have the Wajesus family done with their lives that would warrant anyone calling them an "influencer"? Besides saying they love Jesus? And What does that even mean?
Even Joe Rogan arguably the most popular youtuber, is a successful comedian, successful martial arts fighter, hollywood actor...& his shows guests will also come from different fields (actors, comedians, boxers, athletes, authors, politicians, Elon Musk, etc) -- but in Kenya, there's no underlying story outside of just jumping on youtube & that's why for many, it won't be sustainable in the long run. So, are Kenyans over rating youtube's income potential or have young people just decided that youtube advertising income, not matter how little, is their only hope?
Maybe these youtubers just reflect the weaknesses of Kenyan society as a whole -- it's not an advanced country like the US where people come from a variety of fields & are doing different things. Kenya, at it's core, is still a medieval society where religion, marriage & tribal traditions still reign & even though these young people have access to youtube, their cultural underpinnings are still rooted in that medieval society.
You have spoken my thoughts so wonderfully, are you in my head? can we meet and have coffee? I agree UA-cam should be done with the intention of pushing a skill/ sharing info, the problem is that you want to make content = money without giving any value to the viewers example: how do you do a vacation vlog without mentioning basic expenses like travel cost, which hotel would you recommend, was the one you were staying worth the price? if you are shy about mentioning prices then please just educate or inform us one way or another . No matter what type of content you are doing, educating/informing people should always be a priority. I do not mind pure entertainment but not every vlog should be made of empty pleasures.
I love the consistency 😚😚😚😚😚
Love this crew.
We love you
Love right back

Avoid posting about kids...thats just the #1 rule and only rule...
And there is a reason people are glued to following Bahati and Diana Marua nowadays.. Just saying...
You lose a portion of your audience by not showing your true self and everything in your life.. Double edged sword.
