in my opinion if you have the 3t stay with it if you don't have a 3t and want a oneplus phone get the one plus 5

5:20 When did OnePlus say there's a fix coming for the jelly issue? They've said they're investigating it but there's been no announcement of a fix. They have, however, said there's a fix coming for the 4k stabilisation which you didn't mention.

He referenced the jittery scrolling in the launcher if you swipe between the icons. Jelly ain't going nowhere it's a hardware issue.

OnePlus 5 has EIS now. If you didn't get it yet, look for the upgrade.

For me, personally, performance is THE deciding factor. And ever since the OP3, no other device has even managed to match OnePlus devices in pure performance, not even the Pixels. The iPhone 7 is slightly faster in certain aspects, but I would never use a iOS device. I can pretty much afford any device, so price is never the issue, although I do consider the value I get for the money I pay. I'd take the better performer over a slightly better camera or a marginally better display, every time. As of today, the OP 5 is the fastest, snappiest device on the market. Easy pick.
I couldn't agree more. My work requires me to have instantaneous access to 3 resource demanding apps. I can't afford reloads. They cost me money. My Samsung (S7 Edge) and LG (V10 & V20) suffered from relatively poor (for me) RAM management. My OP5 8GB kit knows my critical apps and hasn't as much as hiccuped yet. At this rate, my OP5 will have paid for itself in it's first month of service. My phone doesn't seem to be affected by the jelly effect, but even if it was, the stellar performance would more than offset that possible flaw. This phone is a certified beast.

Qjemuse ram doesnt mean any thing it all depends on optimasion look at the iphone only 2 gb of ram there is a comparison vs mate 9 pro from timmers
i have iphones and ipads as well. but thats on another OS. for android the fastest phones are ones with snapdragon 835/kirin 960, ufs2.1, and MLC. with more ram it definitely helps.
If I had to buy a phone now, I'd probably get the OP5. With all its shortcomings, it's still the best value for money.

Immanuel Kant Yeah IMO it is right now the best value for money in the top category. Maybe the LG G6 is a contender, since the price has dropped, but the hardware in that is older. The camera is clearly better in the G6.

There's really no reason to buy a new phone every year anyways, no matter the brand. Tech doesn't advance that fast, so it's no big deal.

just ordered my op5. i have a opo still but im finally ready to upgrade. ive used s8+'s and i dont like typing on them and i dont like small bezels at the bottom of the screen because then its hard to hit the space bar. im excited to get my new phone next week
what game were you playing on the op5 during the video?

Kevin, this is the best review of the OnePlus 5 I've watched. I didn't know double-tap to wake on it that I've used for years on my Lumias, and the gestures, which I'm interested in trying out. New sub 👍🏾

It is strange that some people say their OnePlus 5 only holds for 5-6 hours. Maybe there were some shipped with defective batteries.
I will say I am really liking my OnePlus 5. Coming from a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 6p, I really like the OS on this OnePlus 5. I like the customization, and modding around in the phone is super snappy.

I think the jelly scrolling effect is visible on all OP5s, buts it's far more obvious on some units versus others. My first OP5 was just jellying all over and I couldn't unsee it. I had to return and test my luck with the new unit. Lucky for me the scrolling is far better on this unit. OP5 is generally a good phone overall, but I would definitely return if you see the jelly effect and it starts pissing you off like it did for me.

wow I must say after a long time I have seen and heard a top quality review ..offcource 1+5 is good phone but all in all the way you explained with videos and pics was awesome ..really liked it.Nice editing and even background music was decent ..

I bought the OP5 the moment it was launched in India. I love the Samsung GS8 but it's too expensive for me so I had to buy this. All I have to say is I love this device. It feels amazing in the hand, is super fast, the charging speed is unbelievable and has a petty good camera. I don't think there is a better device out there at this price point. Obviously, if you have the money then go for the Samsung S8 or maybe wait for the next iPhone or the pixel but if you don't have that kinda money then the OP5 will definitely not disappoint you. I highly recommend this device. And I don't have the jelly effect nor do I have any other issues with this phone. The camera bump definitely needs some sort of protection and is prone to scratches.

Wtf, 1080p video is stable af. Much better than wobbly s8 and the i7.with The new update, 4k videos are beast. I don't even own this phone but I can say it's up there if not the best

it is annoying when they call it global yet you cannot get the phone in Australia.
i dunno about you Kevin, but i get 32-34 hrs on a single charge with 4.5-6 hrs of SOT on my OP5. Adaptive brightness on, wifi on/off accordingly, BT usually off or barely used, Dark Mode on and Location off
Everyone's usage is different.. I have location off, and I use BT all day, watch, headphones, car, etc... I mean that's why I don't like mentioning battery life.. it's so subjective.
Kevin The Tech Ninja yeah that's very true. Taking lots of pics and shooting videos will also eat into battery. Everyone's battery situation varies.

Kyoi Rinkijidota well depends on how you use it. Sometimes I leave at 530am with 80-85% battery and leave data and location on the whole day and reach home at about 7pm with about 20% left. Though I mostly browse Facebook and maybe 2 hrs of hd UA-cam video. Just to give you an idea.
Soon upgrading from A BlackBerry Passport, it will be a pleasure.

I have a s8. it's set at 1080p. with 1440p enabled my battery life is bad. 1080p is perfectly fine especially if one isn't using VR
4-5hrs SOT would be heaven to me
I'm a no go on skins. I only do cases so my phone is protected
I find skins stupid if they cant even protect the lip of the camera lens. That's my main reason for doing cases.
s8 vs op5 which is better......and many says s8 lags time to time is it true....
Coming from a person that HAD the S8 for a good month, and the oneplus 5, I would personally say the oneplus 5 is a much better purchase. The S8's screen is hard to beat, BUT the software really holds the phone back from it being truly great. It micro-lags after a week and while battery has stayed consistently good, its not worth the $700 purchase for the software experience. Samsung phones would be truly amazing if Samsung ditched touch wiz entirely in favor for something close to stock android.

If you can get used to android/like android, I would go for the oneplus 5. The iphone would be a great purchase too if you like iOS, BUT the issue I see in your particular case is a couple of things. 1. You dont know what the phone went through exactly, even if it looks great. 2. Assuming you are buying it from someone you dont know, its easy for the seller to blacklist the iphone he/she sold to you (unless its fully purchased/unlocked and the buyer can show proof)

honestly. if you are having small issues like that. just do a factory reset. With Google backup. 90% of your things are backed up.

People say the camera isn't good but let me tell you something. If you are like me (upgrading from a Nexus 5) then the camera is incredible! Dynamic range is amazing, the sharpness is crazy and the colors are just.. wow.
Also *I have no jelly effect*, I really feel like this is an issue that like 10 people have and they are just really vocal about it on forums and here on yt.
William Larsson i didn't notice it till I heard about it online but it's really hard to do you have to literally scroll up and down like a mad man overall using the phone normally you really don't see it and if oneplus fixed it I don't think I would know
Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there. It's in every single OP5 unit because of the way it's designed. I can see it on mine if I look for it but it doesn't bother me at all. Every unit has it, it's not a debatable thing, it's something that occurs when the screen of the phone is used upside down and the OP5's screen is mounted upside down.
