I don't have an allotment and have only a passing interest in gardening, but I love this channel! This girl is so sweet and funny and smart and it's so great to see a woman who wants to work!

Potatoes die back from the top. So they are not fully done if there's any green above ground.
Vegetable = edible leaf, stem, root, or part thereof.

Hello Emma, I absolutely love to see how happy you are digging the potatoes. The fruitful success of the effort put into the growing of the potatoes. Good on ya love take a bow! In the US the smallest potatoes are sold in bags as specialty potatoes for premium prices.
NEVER NEVER put concrete under any pumpkin type plants. The concrete will cause the pumpkin to rot prematurely. I am very proud of you for all your efforts this year. Have a great weekend bye for now

Yummy 😋 potato 🥔 harvest Emma. Yes, the weather is hot for UK standards because I was planning to do a video today (Friday 24th June) and because it was too hot couldn't do it. Keep safe, well and happy gardening. Not all potato varieties flower because it's when they go yellow (or are dying) they are ready for harvest.

Hi Emma I think your face and comments when you unearthed your potatoes ought to be broadcast to every up and coming gardener.
That’s what gardening is all about being disappointed at your failures and being jubilant about your successes. Go girl go.😂😂🤗🤗

  • @lokilawson

Very pretty taters! Flowering is unreliable as a guide. The flopping over is the best indicator. Mine are still coming along, but don’t look as good as my previous year’s harvest. Can’t wait to harvest them and some leeks for leek and tater soup!

I love growing potatoes they really are the best because its just so exciting because you have no idea what you're going to get. And those potatoes you've grown look perfect. I love seeing how productive your allotment has become. And seeing how much more productive it's getting year on year. Brilliant.

Well done the size of your potatoes look like they are first or second early salad potatoes, you may have had a larger harvest if you had left them a week or two longer.. Did get them all out any small ones left in ground may form new growth. Hope mine in containers yield such a good harvest.👍

This is my first video of yours and you have a personality that's fun to watch, especially when you were harvesting your potatoes! What type of potatoes were they, anyway? And I was salivating at those tiny, baby potatoes. I hope you saved them and added them to a salad or something!
And thank you for not speeding through the potato harvest! Digging up potatoes is like a treasure hunt, which is why I love potato reveals! :)

A fortnight away from the Allotment is discouraging when resuming, so we don't go away any longer. Years ago, before having an allotment, I used to secretly laugh at people who wouldn't go on holiday because they had an elderly or temperamental dog or cat. Now I won't go on holiday because of my STRAWBERRIES and COUGETTES. I perhaps need to get a life.
