If you get another run of bottom shelf budgets, to prevent Rex from losing his s*** again, you should just do a "well wednesday" and bang them out like a rare whiskey friday
(Thursday would have to be a solid/bigger name bottle that week, though)
I said the same thing during the budget scotch saga that seemed to take forever. Most of it is all just kinda the same, they end up saying it's a fine mixer.
Also: “Hey, you know what this reminds me of?”
“A quality whiskey that’s nothing like this, but we’ll pretend there is as an excuse to drink something good?”
I agree. I’d rather watch a full episode on a bottle that is interesting (even if distribution is limited) over a budget bottle that tastes like light vanilla that I don’t want to try

The tugboat is just an elaborate ruse by Rex to mooch more whiskey since Daniel can't see how much he pours.

Anybody else think that Rare Whiskey Friday shouldn't just be first impressions? I kinda like the detailed longer reviews.

I love Waterford’s vision/concept and will always support this kind of innovation and creativity in the industry. That said I have my problems with their management and social media presence. All the combativeness on Twitter when people questioned the role terroir leaves a bad taste in my mouth. When you’re pushing the envelope to this extent you should expect some pushback. Handle it with openness and grace. Let your actions prove them wrong.
Anyone who has ever had a garden understands terroir. I think the defensiveness started due to the questions about the price vs age. They didn’t explain it well out of the gate. It’s essentially the Whole Foods of whiskey. Part of the cost is due to the dedication to local ingredients and upgrades with packaging. Now that I understand it, I get it.

I’m glad y’all finally talked about yeast because as a beer guy, I think yeast is super important, and I would like to know if it has as much of an impact on the flavor of whiskey as it does in beer.
I've been watching you guys for over a year. I enjoy a good rye whiskey and I love watching your reviews on them
Waterford is taking it to a whole new level, very interesting I wish I could taste the different "farms"
They are so unique! I have Bannow Island and Gaia. They are totally unique! Waterford is next level with transparency

Not sure if you guys will see this, but you guys did a dry week a bit ago and I was not going to participate. But I inadvertently had to join along as I received a concussion. So I was forced to participate and as much as it sucked to be away from whisky, my palette was definitely reset after 2 weeks. Very cool to see and would recommend it for anyone that hasn’t participated yet.
Dry week though, not the concussion...concussions suck.

I'm surprised y'all didn't get a chocolate note on the TX barrel proof it's a monthly bottle for me and the chocolate is a stand out flavor for me.... All the other notes y'all mentioned r definitely there as well it's fantastic

So Waterford tracks all the barley? What about the trees? If they had a map that showed where the trees were grown that the barrels are made from, then I’d be impressed.

Hey there guys, so this is my first comment here and it's totally unrelated to the video, but I wanted to ask your opinion on something I experienced. So yesterday evening I was watching some old Whiskey Tribe videos and meanwhile I poured myself a glass of rum (Barcelo Signio) which was a gift from a friend. I know you are not really dealing with rum here, but I think Dan once mentioned he likes Zacapa. Anyway, it was nice, but a little bit too sweet, so I thought I switch to Ardbeg 10 after that. But instead of switching, I got an idea and made a 'blend' and put a dash of Ardbeg into the rum, and maaaan it was so good. I wanted to ask you, because I didn't really find anything about that on the Internet, is that a thing, or is it blasphemy, or did I invent something? Maybe give it a go, and tell me your opinion, is it good, or am I crazy? BTW I love your channels, keep up the good work. Cheers.

Hey dudes, y'all have led me to many great whiskies the past couple of years. Thank you. The last two peated malts I have bought, I have found to be a bit too sweet some nights - Ledaig 10 and the Wee Beastie(though not as much). Do you have a pick for a peated malt that is noticeably dry?

Guys n Gals: noob here. I'm trying. What am I really smelling when I think I smell tequila/mezcal in scotch (JW Black) and possibly other whiskies? In college in the 80s I had been known to indulge in quantities of Monte Albán Mezcal, so that is a known scent to me. I am not trained enough to know when I am smelling more corn, more barley, etc...
Edit: It's the smoke. Monte Albán Mezcal smokes the agave.
