Tinture and disinfectant spray dont clean water anymore the 1.06 patch fix stopped that unfortunately only found out by getting sick from a canteen i used the tinture on
@@bj011990 Yes. You have to pour out the water, then spray your bottle to make it clean. Then collect the water and throw in a purification tablet

For me it's the starvation simulator the first time I spawned it gave me 3 bottles of water now it gives none.
I hate when people say that. A large part of the game is travelling. If you dont like that you should've researched the game before buying it.

I found that if you shoot a zombie with no surpressor during a storm right when thunder rings out the other zombies wont hear it. Like enemy at the gates or that mission in call of duty. I was so happy it actually worked and no one else knows about it! Also surpressor work only if they are pristine once they are worn the zombies can hear it.

@@gtunanimousseven6994 It was when I wrote this. It was from personal experience in the game. They might have changed things since then. Back then you could sprint pretty close too zombies during a storm and they wouldnt hear you. The game mustve taken ambient noise into consideration. Also the shooting zombies whem thunder rings out might not work because of dysync but it did work for me the one and only time I tried it months ago. Do some experimenting see if it still works. Same with the suppressor thing. That was big for my team was always shooting with pristine suppressors because as soon as they werent zombies would charge us. Ive switched to Escape from Tarkov. Dayz aint my thing anymore. My friend still has a server for ps4 though.

I just got DAYZ and Livonia, likely a lot of new players right now. I've been watching DayZ videos for a few months now, but still haven't even loaded up the game and this video was exactly what I needed to give me a bit of confidence that I can go into that world and possibly survive for a little while at least. David Stoler I would advise you to play and get used to regular dayZ for a couple of days before hopping on Livonia because that’s hardcore dayZ and for the average fresh spawn regular dayZ can be a pain.

One of my best memories of DayZ was about a week before the huge North East Airfield nerf-- I found an engraved 1911 and a bunch of 45, no mag. My two buddies got killed and I solo'd against 4 people with just chambering the pistol

@@RavPlays you're welcome mate, like one of the other comments says, straight to the point. Exactly what it says on the tin. You did forget to mention that you need some sort of kindling on the fire to re-ignite it... Paper or rags for example. I'm sure people will figure it out though lol

Leather Jacket doesn't give any protection to impact or explosion, you can check all the stats inside of the server files. All armor offers the exact same protection, only the durability of the armor is increased with higher tiers. So a hard hat has the same protection as a combat helmet, just the combat helmet will take more shots before it gets ruined. Same with chest plates and ballistic armors.

I played this game for the first time yesterday, and was forced to kill other players out of self defense! A different dude "befriended" me as soon as i joined only to betray me with 5 min. Funny thing is, he wasnt who killed me! The encounter was fun because soon after he betrayed me and started trying to kill me, another group showed up and the dude who betrayed me convinced the guys that i was bad even though i wasnt, so then i ran for my life and managed to slip away. Then soon after that i found a shovel and then another player tried to kill me so then i killed him with a shovel. Then later another player with a machete came and attacked me. I managed to kill him. He got a few hits off. It took me awhile to understand what all the icons were in the lower right corner of sceen. Apparently my character was bleeding and so my character bled out soon after!
But i must say this was a very cool experience because this all happened within an hour of starting this game!

Encounters with other players is always exciting for me. I've gotten two kills since I've been back, and each one was extremely satisfying. Though one guy didn't deserve it, but it's chenaurus if you aren't on the take you get took.
Btw chickens.. kill chickens have a knife to skin them, and an axe to build a fire with. Also need matches or a road flare to ignite the fire. When you get out to the country kill deer or goats. Take the animal fat off them. Animal fat fills you up for a long long time.
Take multi vitamins to keep from getting sick, and stick to well water for drinking.
Had one guy catch me from behind as a fresh spawn saying” I’m friendly, how are you” as he was unloading his suppressed weapon into me.
I’ve yet to meet a friendly player.

For those who are having issues with cars bouncing left and right frequently, try driving in reverse for a bit. The cars will turn hard if glitched in one direction, making it easier to avoided screwing your engine if you dink it off a tree/sign. Id avoid it with the sarka though.

Put 2 tires on top of eachother and stand on them, pick up the lowest one and dropp it and loop, to elevate in the air
this works with the car door as well.

To add to your bonus tip at the end. The same goes for when your opening a water bottle or canteen to drink. Just stand or crouch (whichever your not) before the twist of the cap noise. Will cancel the noise. Little quieter.... Not crazy.

Yea no worries. Ps4 and probably Xbox have a adapter for keyboard and mouse, but for PC its much better with MODS I'm sure. So not the same.

Bought this game last night along with the DLC lavia or Lavina I think ?? While it was downloading I watched this to be prepared... Still didn't help 😂😂 my first encounter with a player was utterly nerve racking... I was minding my own business at a building looking for tools. Wandering around just enjoying myself... Walked across a road and out of nowhere someone popped from a bush and unleashed a hail of lead 😂😂 I completely shit myself and panicked. All I had was my hatchet and harsh language. After the player emptied his clip into me I charged him and surprisingly killed him. Got a Pistol , a mp5 and a rifle called a mosin 91 or something like that. I was so proud off myself ... But it didn't last long 😔 the noise attracted the dead and I was surrounded all the while my character kept passing out and screen was going black and white. This game is genuinely underrated imo and yeah it does have bugs and stuff but that doesn't outweigh the fun this game can give. Instantly fell in love with the game after that last night 😂

Really like these vids, very useful. I've been playing the game since it came out and even though most of it is new, I had no clue about some of the stuff you can do. Gonna save my squad a lot of trouble, time and stress from doing things the hard way.
Loved the tips. Especially the cooked human meat for warmth. It rains a lot in Livonia and I'm always coming across human steak on the roads. (Not players I've killed, I'm a defensive player. lol) Now i can stay warm after i get drenched. New sub and Thanks!

A lot of those features were in the game even before the 0.62 alpha but good job covering them all! 5:11 lol that santa was actually back in the first release of Arma 2 DayZ mod back in 2012 but was later removed in DayZ Sa. Not sure if it was added recently now since we are close to Christhmass :D

Great video, I like Dayz more than every other game
Hunger is #1 enemy on ps4... for me
100% agree , that and rain. But for food try looking for mushrooms near haybales and for sardines/tuna in greenhouses. Not every haybale or greenhouse will have food but it's your best shot, zombies every once in a while carry canned goods aswell for a 3rd option. I have been playing for about 5 days now, i'm learning quickly. There are servers with highloot out there too which is less frustrating also look for freshly wiped servers that haven't been looted much yet. I wish a gps/map was an option for those who want it, or friends spawn with you. Also a custom respawn would be super sweet. It sucks having to spawn on the east coast after you finally made it to the western middle of the map. Clouds move East if you are lost, be still when you eat or it won't fill you as much. Shacks and sheds have better and more loot than houses and buildings, use road signs to your advantage. Don't run unles you have to,

Placing stuff in your backpack (etc) is buggy AF right now. You have to first put it in your hands (not all the time) then find the slot it allows for the object to be put in because not all of them will let you do that. Then putting something on the ground is risky because you may not be able to pick in up again, not even in your hands. Changing the placements of something in your clothes, backpack (etc) is pure hell, again, because not all the slots allow it.
If you have a tent in your base and you start tidying things up by arranging everything in a way you find most clean, take deep breaths and try to calm down because otherwise you'll Alt+F4 and think about completely deleting the rubbish, pardon, the game.
The current version of the game requires a lot of patience.
I bought Livonia in the hope that things would get better but when I saw that nothing additional is downloaded after the purchase, I realized everything that's new is just on the server side.
I hope things will get sorted out. I've been hoping for that for years, though.

Awesome, thought my bottles and canteens were bugged after finding them because I kept trying to dump them inside and couldn't, same with Jerry cans. I did see one issue with a "tip" in the video, but forgot which one it was after beginning to type lol. Regardless, fantastic video as usual.

Did u know that on console, while you are holding a weapon if u hold the chambering button (Y for Xbox, triangle for PS) it automatically takes a mag/ ammunition for that weapon and loads it. So if I had an SG5-K without a mag but I had one in my inventory, holding the Y button would equip that mag without me having to open it
I did not know that on console. but there is a similar feature on PC
RavPlays I didn’t know it did that, I was just messing with buttons one day and it happened 😂, it’s really useful for me now in gun fights though because I don’t have to waste time sitting still searching through my bag for a new mag 😂

you just throw it, depending where it explodes it may kill the player. Explosions are really inconsistent in DayZ right now. The other day i punched an gas station and survived, i also saw a player step on a landmine and survive.
This is an excellent video. it's so important for players to know how jam packed dayz is with all these tiny features. Here i am thinking before i started the video, there would not be too many lil bits i didnt know about dayz sa, since playing since release, but seeing them combined together in this video is a reminder of how hard it is to remember absoloutley everything about the game in the heat of the moment. You have done a great job with this video and thanx !

Fairly sure with the hunting scope all 308. Win rounds are minimum ranged to 200m too, so the scopes on guns with 308. Will still be accurate at close, I think
theres like a 50-120meter range where if u aim at the top of someones head you will miss

I’m thinking of starting with PVE, just so I can experience things without anyone killing me 2 minutes into the game. Do I need to watch out for anything when it comes to other survivors? Can I get raided or be killed?

@@DirdyJoker i met a guy today and he asked me if i was going to kill him (i had a gun) and i said no so half an hour later i was dying because of dehydration when i met the guy again and after i died i returned back for my stuff and he let me take back most of my stuff and the gun and then we parted ways... so yeah... have some faith.
@@stefantanket8735 I've met good people too. I just like to keep my guard up because in my experience there have been more bad people than good. I've been playing for months and I usually give people the benefit of the doubt. I also never attack first, but if someone tries to hurt me or friendly people I've met, I usually chop the bad guy up and eat their flesh to celebrate my victory. Other than that I am quite peaceful lol.
Silencer attracts zombies.....hope they fix that bug because the whole point ia to quickly take out a group one by one without getting swarmed.

Oh, I thought you couldn't disinfect a filled bottle with alcohol or spray anymore... that's what "issue" I had above... thought I read it didn't work anymore somewhere.
Also when im about to die early in I drop all items in clear view so newer players can collect my stash instead of it disappearing.
That is if im not near where I may spawn but either way someone will be happy

The bk-18, mosin, double barrel, can now be sawn off with a hacksaw on ps4 and xbox 1
