  • A Tour of Shiredale Station. A quick, so far, catch up without the need to go through the more in depth videos on my channel. Hope this sparks your imagination to build your own Model Railway, Diorama or, reengage, whatever scale you choose.

      That went in Ian thank you so much for saying so because you’re absolutely right and it is something that I certainly underestimate every single time, when taking on my own creative ideas. Maybe that’s why I embark. I’ll say to people, oh… it’ll only take me a couple of weeks then reality bites a few months later. Imagination has it all laid out finished and looking pristine in any visions I’ll conjure up but, just the study itself can take up lengthy periods or, you can waste a lot. The rewards are priceless and the song, Can’t buy me love is playing, can see/hear A hard days night too lol 😂

      Hey, good luck too, with your efforts 🤞 A big shout out as well to all our Families that support us behind the scenes. There have been moments on this where I’ve literally forgotten to eat, sleep or, skip to the loo. This hobby can grip you that much. I’m sure we all say, just another hour and it’ll be done 👍

      Very much appreciated Dave. It’s a lovely feeling to finally let this one go but, enjoyed the journey too. On three occasions it nearly got the better of me but, we gotta keep on keeping on. Orders all arrived in the Nick of time because there’s a lot of study goes in as I’m sure you well know. Thanks 🙏

    Blimmin heck Andy another great vid. I’ve not watched it all yet but looks as ever more interesting helpful info. I’m thinking of putting a Magna rail on my lake when it’s built and sending yachts around on it and a car one Elsewhere.
    You really need to either get a 3D printed figure of you wearing your red hat or and one of you as Elvis. And stick it on the platform. 🤣

      Haha 😂 yes. Not sure where I’d get scanned. Think best in OO so maybe for the other layouts. This video is more about taking one area and going at pace through each bit. Will do a video on Magnorail at some point because it’s not all plain sailing. Pardon the pun

      @@modeloco haha. Someone said they are noisy. What do you think?

    • @modeloco
      @modeloco  11 місяців тому +1

      @@stevio7777 No, not at all in my experience. Many of the snippets include the ambient noise in the background and my loco sounds are set around 20% on HM7000 to match the ESU chip in one of my Scotsman’s so, that totally masks the slight whirr of the chain. Also my motor is let into the window sill so, effectively in a wall cavity but, don’t think that makes much difference tbh. The base solidity may help reduce noise reflections. The issue is what surface is used to run these vehicles on. It has to be very minimal/thin/smooth but, wear resistant too and coloured obviously to match any chosen use choice, plus a baseboard with space underneath could all amplify inherent noises I guess. Costs all soon add up for a decent run 🏃‍♀️

At least I’ve achieved 3 months work in 3 weeks so, now it’s there and it’s done ✅ off the bucket list, that’ll do. been watching your channel since i bough the easterner set lst October. Not been brave enough to start the model railway yet - looking at your video, are you using Dapol N scale signals? they look good. i can't seem to find any 1;120 scale signals anywhere. 🙂

    • @modeloco
      @modeloco  11 місяців тому +2

      Hi Stephen, I did a lot of research with some saying the Dapol n scale sem’ ones were slightly over scaled anyway so, would look fine on TT:120. Took the leap of faith by ordering and yeah, they certainly look okay to me. I’ve slightly elevated the position by about 5mm but, even without that, they look fine. For sure when compared to one I have in OO, against OO models the posts are longer in ratio terms. What I have found are close proximity and certainly platform signals are shorter anyway so, I’m glad that I went for it. Am using n scale, ‘Kyte Lights’ aspect signals too and they look 👍 . I was a little hesitant as they’re based in the Isle of Wight but, they arrived quicker than any mainland UK outlets I use and I use quite a few. So you see one in use too. Obviously the Dapol semaphores need to be wired correctly and Gaugemaster (merging with Train tech) in the end seemed the best option for correct connections. A few options are available depending on which signal you use, ie Mk 1 or Mk 2 (which has the box underneath) and whether you’d like to include train tech track sensor inputs. From recollection these options are for Dapol Mk1 - SC3 / SC300 or, for Mk2 - SC4 / SC400 the added zeros having the track sensor option but, double check as things do change. I used the SC300 as it was in stock and I can use sensors should I so choose

    Andy, the 6 pin HM7000 chip I think, should fit into any loco which is not DCC ready if we knew what each pin does - ie 2 for track power, 2 for engine drive and front and back lights using common negative from the track pin I guess - can anyone confirm this?

      There’s one on the free Hornby HM7000 app and I’ve used an iPad app called Train Design for Tillig TT which is similar track but, as I use Peco flexible I’ve only used it for basic ideas and by the time you’ve messed about with it, still love the pen, rule and paper
