Strong spanish flavours in chickos compositions! Even if we've not been studying this stuff! Gary has absorbed this so naturally! Sometimes I wonder if gary was a co writer!
i absolutely love this tune .this is my fav tune of all time . while i was in drum corps in the 70,s and 80,s i had this on tape . you made my weekend . oh yessssss xxxx
Gary Burton is amazing on the vibes. I'm not a fan of his solo stuff but Crystal Silence is one of my desert island picks. Chick is a monster song writer. Just a genius. Thanks for posting.
This was so powerful and so beautiful, that it reduced to tears! I saw Chick back in September (with Stanley Clarke and Lenny White). It was Ok, but another tour with Gary would be the best.
I bought the double album "Gary Burton / Chick Corea In Concert: Zürich, October 28, 1979", in 1980 when it was released and it has Señor Mouse on it. Still excellent 30+ years later.
I was very fortunate to have studied with Bill Douglas (Naropa Institute, Boulder CO) in the 80's. He transcribed Chick's solo on this piece, which I have. It is fantastic, but from a different, live recording of this same tune. Try to find it. (Chick certainly makes an argument for Scientology!)
Thank God for blessing some of us with the talent and perserverance to create something like this. Transcendent.

Gary is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
My fav of all Chick's tunes....
It just doesn't get any better than Chick doing it with Gary Burton, .... period.
This is simply the greatest thing ever.
Glad to get to see these two together on friday

I was considered a freak for listening to this in the eighties seeing as I'm only forty nine now lol
Young corea...
Im considered a freak for I listen to this now and Im 27 lol
I'd love to hear Jordan Rudess play this with a vibraphonist since Burton has retired the mallets...
