I've had my eye on that cart for a while. Thanks for showing it. At my HF store they have it bolted down to the top of the shelves, so it's hard to get an idea of the true size.
It will be a nice set up you'll enjoy for years. I'm an amateur steel worker that enjoys the hobby very much. A lot I learned from my father and my Grandfather. Now my 8 yr, old Grandson is infatuated with the T.V. show " forged in fire " :-) .Wants to get a black smith shop started. :-) Once a person learns the skills, there are endless possabilities . I enjoy you video's very much !
Hello Daniel, I am watching your welding video on my other screen right now. Nice looking shop your setting up there. Have you tried the MIG on your new machine yet?
@@HomesteadEngineering Not yet on the Mig . . . I am focusing on the Stick function until my 5 lbs of E6011 are gone. However, I did connect the wire and gas to the machine for MIG. Thanks you.
I would love to see all of that under the tree this year - I did a bit of metalwork in Highschool as well, but nothing since - I would like to give it a go again.
I was thinking it looked like it should be under a tree as well. Why don't you get the same stuff and we can relive our high school days together. Thanks!
In the last video I was thinking,🤔 David doesn't have any welding equipment & every good shop has a spot for welding. But, I didn't say anything because I didn't want to freak you out just in case you were thinking about it. 😂🤣😂 Well done, buddy! GO BIG or go home.
I am subscribed to Mike and love his channel. Mike is the reason I went with the Vulcan Omnipro 220 and the Titanium plasma cutter so if they don't pan out, I'm blaming him! Thanks!
Wow David, it's been amazing to watch the evolution of your homestead! You are inspiring. This question is unrelated to the video topic. How big is the plot of land that you crop? Is there a ratio of square foot to person to give a proper yield? I know this must vary widely depending on the crop, but is there a rule of thumb on how much land per person in household?
Hello Raymond, my garden is about 1/2 acre. I don't think I could give a square foot per person as there are so many variables. Some folks are able to grow massive amounts of food out of raised beds in a relatively small area. My garden is mostly an experiment for me to learn to grow food. We still purchase the vast majority of our food. If SHTF, I would immediately more than double our garden space and take a much more serious approach. Thanks!
Fixing tractor implements, railings, gates. May come in handy building the ground mount solar. Maybe a few wow factor items for flip houses. Just whatever projects I need to do or want to do. Thanks!
what was your total with coupons? I was thinking about doing the same thing. Never know when you need to weld something, especially if shtf, part availability is already an issue.
a v, I think it was around $3,000 for everything but I waited for sales and used coupons. I did not get the extended warranties but maybe should have. I don't look at it like spending money, I look at it as trading fiat currency for useful hard assets that will maintain there value if SHTF. Thanks! edit: I think that included the filled CO2/Argon tank as well.

That sounds great! What a nice thing to share with your grandson. Thanks!
You're living in a paradise. Greatings from Poland.
I am in many ways that's true but trust me I got my problems just like everyone else...
I have that bandsaw. It works great.
That's good to know. Thanks!
very nice shop and welding equipment! I purchased my welder on December 1, 2020 . . . looking at the plasma cutters . . .

Hello Hoot, I am thinking about it! Problem is, I'm thinking about a bunch of stuff and my head is swimming. I need to focus... :)
I hope your solar system can handle the voltage and amperage draw...
My solar can do 8,800 Watts continuous but I don't plan to run this off the solar. Thanks!
@@HomesteadEngineering sounds like you have alot of wattage for the cottage...
Parabens amigo!!!
Check out mike festiva on here. He does some amazing stuff with those harbor freight welders

I am nowhere near out of ideas! Chicken coop, freeze dryer, simple pump, Lithium Fortress Power eVault x3, etc..
