    Why are folk so suprised when they see an L322 do these things its what they are made for not fetching the shopping And for all the R/R/ haters well you know the folk that
    have never had one you are looking at probably one of the best cars on the planet yes the best thats why they sell so well and I have had a few never let me down always
    put a smile on me face so comfy and relaxing to drive To all those that are quick to say what a load of rubbish and pick fault you just stay with your Audi B M W Volksagen etc etc
    and we will stick with the L322 even though it has a bema Engine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are only two other makes I will not have a bad word said against them Toyota Izusu

    I been really looking into buying Range Rover are the unreliable as people say they are or is it just mostly made up opinion.

      @300e24v  7 років тому +8

      Like any vehicle, if you buy one that has been looked after and you don't skimp on servicing and use genuine or OEM parts then they are very reliable, a lot of people don't service them, fix them with cheap parts and then blame the Land Rover when something breaks... I will say the L322 is an expensive car to keep on the road, servicing and repairs are not cheap...

      I've owned a 2009 l322 4.4 hse and it's been great. Has almost 135k miles on it. If you take care of them they stand up incredibly well over time. While they're really expensive to fix, there aren't many other cars out there that cover all the bases like a Rover can

      The people who say that Land/Range Rovers are unreliable are people who have never owned one. I have had 2 Discoverys, 3 Freelanders, 1 Freelander 2 and currently have a Range Rover Sport. Had no more trouble with them than you would any other vehicle. Just take care of them, find a LR specialist garage and use genuine LR parts....Simples !

    This beast is fully loaded with luxury and is a vehicle you can trust when its comes to off road trails and I will always like to have it round year after year ..

    Snorkel is probably unnecessary as they wade to a good depth anyway and by the time you need the snorkel you’ve flooded most of the essential ECU’s

    • @300e24v
      @300e24v  3 роки тому +4

      The "essential" ECU's are housed in a sealed box under the bonnet from the factory, there are other ECU's in vulnerable areas, the BECM is under the passenger seat, if this gets submerged it does not effect the running of the vehicle, I had water inside over the BECM and the Rangie would always continue with only a few small errors... Once back home, remove the ECU's wash them through with deionised water and dry them well and they work fine. The modified Discovery snorkel increased the ability to wade from the factory 50cm to over 150cm. If prolonged wading filled the inside with water then a strip out and dry was needed as there are water traps under the carpets..! It is possible to relocate the BECM to high up behind the dash but if water gets to it's original position you need to strip the interior out anyway....

    Are you still allowed to take big 4x4s like the Range Rover anywhere in Yorkshire and the lake district?

    • @300e24v
      @300e24v  5 років тому +3

      You have never been allowed to drive anywhere, you can drive on unclassified roads but they are becoming few and far between, soon the disabled like me will have no access to our lovely countryside, only those lucky enough to be fit and able to walk will get to see it...

    Did you have the range in offroad mode? maximum height?

    • @300e24v
      @300e24v  6 років тому +1

      Yes it was, about 3" higher than the standard off road heaight

  • @ashystyle
    @ashystyle 6 років тому +2

    Did you get out of that at the end with out a winch?

    • @300e24v
      @300e24v  6 років тому +3

      Yes, a couple of well placed stones and it got up, wheelbase was the exact size of the two steps so it was a bit like trying to drive up a brick wall...

    Which is the best engine 4.4 bmw or jag 4.4 or 4.2 sc or 5.0 litre

    • @300e24v
      @300e24v  6 років тому +2

      For road use the latest one you can afford, for offroading the early 4.4, much more room in the engine bay, the later facelifted ones have very deep lights that go a long way back into the engine bay which makes fitting any form of snorkel virtually impossible... engines all have pro's and cons, the later Jag ones seem to have the edge on reliability but it depends how they have been looked after... If you are worried about reliability, don't be, they haven't got any, if you want that buy a Toyota...!!

      Blake Bias I would say Range rovers engines are Made in a way that you feel raw power specially the bmw engine it’s more like locomotive 🚂 kind of thing than road vehicle . To much of load and momentum with very uniform acceleration , all the way from 80-200kmph

      4.2SC for reliability, IMO.

    There you go, that's what range rovers are made for, hey it looks really high though? How did you get it so high? Mine goes up pretty high on the highest setting but yours looks higher, maybe because you have the smaller wheels.

    • @300e24v
      @300e24v  9 років тому +3

      Wheels are smaller but tyres are bigger, it's on 32"'s standard is 29"'s... IID tool and you can adjust the suspension, mine is about 3 " higher than standard, with the bigger tyres give 16" clearance on the sills....

      cheekygit2002 Drowned it in Wales last year without a snorkel... it moaned a bit but still got 220miles home, stripped it all out and dried it and it's fine now... Disco 4 heavily modified snorkel and it swims everywhere now...

      300e24v Mine doesn't need too much of an excuse to go wrong, is that a custom engine guard and is it the 4.4 petrol ?

    • @300e24v
      @300e24v  9 років тому +4

      cheekygit2002 It's the G4 three piece underbody protection... 10mm aluminium.. yes it's the 4.4 V8 on LPG... Got the fatty cheap as it had a few issues.. what a surprise!!!! All sorted now and runs great....

    • @cheekygit2002
      @cheekygit2002 9 років тому +1

      300e24v haha fatty, mine was 'cheap' too with a few issues and it also spent a year in therapy and I spent almost everything i own. can't beat the V8 though and mostly sorted now...

      Got bored with the Rangie after totally modifying it for off road, build thread here www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic24082.html I decided on a change, the Grand Cherokees are very nice to drive, change in circumstance means I'm not able to off road so much so the Jeep is a road car... So far it has been reliable...!!!
