  • About time the Ferguson TE20 got some love. Today I carried out what is roughly the 60 hour service according to the factory service manual.
    Essentially and oil change and grease to keep things nicely lubes.
    The tractor runs great and has been in the family a long time. One day it will get a rolling restoration to make it look pretty but the classic look works just fine too.
    I used Penrite HPR 30 oil as per their product selector.

    Well, this was a delightful surprise that I wasn't expecting, didn't know you had one of these to look after and cherish. They were manufactured only about 20 miles from where I live. They are very collectable now here in the UK, along with implements that were made to fit onto them.

      There's quite a few things floating about that I get to tinker with on occasion. This one mainly lives in the woodshed and does some landscaping and towing as required. Apart from the loader I think we've got a few more implements around. They're very common here and this one always just works (battery problems excepted). Cheers

    To be an old tractor, it sounded pretty good! Nothing like doing the routine maintenance to make it last. 😊

    First time to see a petrol one - have only ever seen the Diesel and TVO ones. ( TVO had a two compartment fuel tank - TVO section and a small Petrol section for starting engine). Also, never saw a 20 front loader up close - great to see that. Very few (in Ireland at least) had those. And - I know you know - slip of the tongue at 11.06 - starter motor rather than dynamo. Sorreee!! That is one lucky 20, never saw one get so much lubing - especially the 9-hole bar ! Nice one! Thanks man!

    • @Badgertronix

      they're very common here. Can pick up a decent one for very little money. They're a Kiwi legend after Edmund Hillary took a fleet of them to the South Pole. Ah yes, good spot, thanks! This one was long overdue some love so gave it what it needed. Cheers!

    • @Mancozeb100
      @Mancozeb100 3 роки тому

      Badgertronix Oh - interesting about the Hilary Antarctic expedition .. the petrol wouldn’t “freeze” like the way diesel would in low temps - make sense to use the petrol version. There used be a widely used “trick” used with the TVO versions here, to retard the spark, many tractors were fitted with buttons on the spark plug lead - so the spark had to make a jump to reach the plug! Also, a bit like early Land Rovers, they were very creative with all kinds of implements to attach to them. My uncle had a mid-mounted Bamford mower, and the early summer job every year was installating the propellor tube bringing power from the PTO forward to the mower bar. Big job fitting that damn thing. Before reliable rear mount mowers were popular. Anyway ! Thanks BT ! Look forward sometime to see you doing bits around the yard with the 20. And a 20 is never complete without a dog around !!

    Sorry I'm a bit late on this comment. I thought to20's had the oil filter inside at the drain sump, and to30's had the external filter. I'm in the States, so maybe it's the stateside version? Good video by the way.

    • @Badgertronix
      @Badgertronix  Рік тому

      I'm not sure. The manual I have shows it as external so could well be the difference between the overseas and other versions.
