I got a Diesel TE20 around 1988ish, with a loader, plough, cultivator, ridger, rear box and other accessories, which I used for vegetable growing for many rears until I sold it on. A great machine. I live in North Eastern Scotland.
I used to like this make and model of tractor, since childhood, my grandparents took me to a pick-your-Own regularly. In the adventure playground was an old Ferguson TE20 tractor as part of the playing apparatus, and I would sit on it for a long time.
love how you always say hello to the abandoned tractors. I have been recently learning what transmission gaskets and seals are required for Ford 4000 tractors as I have had to look these up for customers at the New Holland dealer i work at.

Drove a tractor for the first time only a few weeks ago. Was one one of these, a 1955. Great fun altogether. Before that, never driven anything before.
Still use one of these weekly for cutting grass on a cricket ground. Less rust on it than this one but has never had any major work and still runs pretty much faultlessly. Excellent machines.

It was a learning experience, crash box, hand throttle and shit brakes....a bit different from the car I learned to drive in 😂
I adore the Ferguson TE20, they're one of the most popular tractors of all time. I've seen a good number of them at the Shrewsbury Steam Rally back in August 2019.

We have a tef20. Great tractors and pretty reliable. The one in the vid would have had a MiI loader fitted judging by those brackets. Miraculously ours is one of the last 900 out of the 500000 te20s made.
When it clicks like that, go ahead and click it 50 times or so before giving up because the clicking often knocks the corrosion off the contacts and fixes it.
I doubt it had been in that location for any length of time as the greenery under the tractor and cutter was not discolored at all. I drove one of those about 50 years ago, it was diesel but had to be started by petrol (in a small additional tank) and then switch over to diesel.
I suppose being a diesel it kept running when you disconnected the booster, did you refit the battery? If not, could that be the reason for no charge showing?
on an diesel engine like this it will run without a battery, a battery is only needed to start it as it is a manual pull to stop not off the ignition. modern diesel engines need a battery all the time though because as soon as you turn the ignition off it shuts the fuel pump off and will stop the engine
Rudolf Diesel invented the Diesel Engines, but 'John Bull 'made it run sweet as a nut, as they say! My Oh MY, wouldn't I like to find an old tractor like this!
You have a TO-35? I have two, both running, one with loader and backhoe which is due for a paint job, the other is our farm tractor and had a complete rebuild about 2004 or so.
Mine runs but after a few min or when using a cutter on it, it starts choking and spitting then stalls, not sure what causes it, new battery, spark plugs, fuel, could it be a dirty fuel tank or carburetor
There is a technical fault with the video after it had been rendered causing audio to drop out. We are investigating and hopefully will have it back up shortly.
