Sigh, I guess I really have no choice but to start at the basics😅. I always tend to try to skip basic and just start with the advanced stuff, since that's more fun. But that doesn't work unfortunately....
A mix works best I think. Having fun is also really important so learn the dances you what to learn, but also do basics in between to level up the skill as you go along. I advise using basics as a warm up before you start a choreography so you get both in 😊
I LOVE what she said from like 1:40-1:55, so important! For some reason we get these ideas in our head that you’re supposed to be a natural at things instead of learning them but it’s so not true! I held back from learning lots of things I was interested in, because I thought I should just naturally be good at it from the beginning 😄
Thank you for this comment. 💕 I used to really struggle with that idea of thinking if I wasn't good at something right away, I had failed and shouldn't do it. Learning to have kindness and patience for myself as a learner opened so many possibilities, so I hope I can help to pass that on to others through my videos 😊
Actually I'm learning classical dance from years but unfortunately it looks stiff whenever i dance, and also I love doing kpop dances! 💗 And for that I need to improve myself!! I'm sure this video gonna help me out!
Thank you so much. Whenever I'm dancing I always feel like I might not be doing it right because I don't have a mirror but now I know that I can just feel if I'm doing it right.
I stumbled apon this video on the verge of quitting dancing and I watched a few of your basics video and it helped so much! This is a very unique video I didn't thinks about learning the basics first so thank you! I hope more people find this video!!! Sending lots of love! 🤗🤗🥰🥰
Thank you! I'm glad the video was helpful for you and I hope you find a new energy to keep dancing! Basics make everything so much easier and more enjoyable too, good luck on your dance journey 😊
I'm glad this was helpful for you! I have another video just for working on arms, and I do explain about how to get your arms more flow-y and soft. ua-cam.com/video/GV-3luZoyck/v-deo.html
thank u for this, I’ve never know that I was doing this thing, but it really helps when u are aware or know what u are doing, so thank u for sharing this
been doing ballet for 14 years, but the type of movements are so incredibly different that i look like i do not dance at all when i try hiphop dance 😭 time to relearn and new style!
Welcome to K-Pop! I know the struggle, I did gymnastics as a kid, learning hip hop after that was a whole fun time of relearning and unlearning shapes. The pointed toes are so hard to let go of 😂 But you can do it! 💪🏻
hiiii omgi love ur video!! I want to learn kpop dancing but what are the most importnat basics? also, how can i practice bouncing? I watched ur video on it and it was superrr helpful, so do i just do the routines you showed there a lot to practice?
THANK YOU SO MUCH IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR ANSWERS AND I NEVER SEE ANYONE TALKING ABOUT BASICS I THOUGHT IT WAS OK JUST LEARNING FULL DANCES LIKE THE FRIST DANCE I TRIED TO LEARN WAS DOMINO AND I WAS STIFFER THAN A BREAD THAT WAS LEFT OUT FOR A DAY
OMG 😂 I love the description! You're very welcome, K-Pop definitely has lots of really important basics to learn that help to make it easier, more comfortable and more fun! I have a whole playlist of them here: ua-cam.com/play/PL32N8jNjUmGjgYPhK0xJnUDk0fejXvY4p.html
Hi 😊 You can use the same logic as the muscle awareness. Break the move down into pieces and feel each part. Slowly speed it up as you get comfortable with the move and you should be able to control it more and get that sharpness. If you can, get an app to slow down music too and practice at slower speeds to build your control, again working up towards 100% as your body learns the sharpness at each speed. Anytune is a good app for iPhone and audipo is good for android.
Thank you, that was really interesting 😊 I liked what you said about using tired muscles to help our awareness and also the tips on the position of the various parts of the arm 🙂
Hey I'm a complete beginner in dancing kpop. So can you suggest me some Kpop basic moves I should try first and then go for choreographies.. for making my foundation strong!
The best place to start as a complete beginner would be my 30 day program, which covers a lot of the basics right from the beginning. 😊 You can find more details in this video: ua-cam.com/video/dOAaaNsgWjc/v-deo.html
i really want to be a good dancer but i have a lot of issues with confidence 😭i take a kpop dance class and my teacher even tells me "you need more confidence!" but i mess up whenever i want to film or have to perform with the class in front of me
Confidence is a really hard thing and I always had teachers tell me the same thing as you. What I worked out and what I teach my students is that confidence happens when you're having fun. It's not about being perfect or getting every move right, when you're having fun that doesn't matter so much. And people watching will ALWAYS enjoy a performance more when the dancer is having fun, even to the point where they won't notice mistakes because they're sucked in by your energy. I do demos of "perfect version" vs "fun version" in class all the time and students NEVER notice when I make a mistake in the "fun version", but they always enjoy it more. I hope thats helpful and I think I'll make a video on this soon to help others too, so thank you so much for sharing your experience!
Hi 😊 This video is actually the best place to start, so well done on taking the first step! 👏👏 After this one I recommened doing the boy and girl basic videos and then moving on to any of the other basic videos from there. I will be launching a full 30 day beginners program over the summer which will give you everything you need in one place so keep an eye out for that!
I am twelves wanna join k pop too but I may work heparder than years but more than that I have to tell my parents so maybe all dream may not come true still chasing
It's all just practice! We can be very good by ourselves but when being recorded or in front of people, then our body sometimes gets stiff and our moves don't look at good. What I did to overcome it, was film myself every time I practiced and based my feedback on the video, instead of watching myself in the mirror so that my body got used to responding to the recording.
