Hey Ben, just a quick question. How did you prepare for the biochemistry test? I know you mentioned that you started preparing for it prior to the start of class but what resources did you use? I'm graduating next week and plan on starting WGU in July.
I joined the Facebook group (WGU RN To BSN Support Group) and the biochem Facebook group (WGU Biochemistry Study Group). I watched the cohort videos in WGU online, but I don't think you can access those until you register and pay the tuition. Even then, you only get access to them 2 weeks before your term is scheduled to start. If you have taken biochem before (which I have NOT!) it will be easier. Also, it seemed like a good amount of the material was related to A&P, so if you did well in that, you'll do well in biochem! There are videos on UA-cam, I believe janetmiller1999 is a user that a lot of WGU students like. Hope that helps! Let me know what other questions you may have!
I started studying a couple weeks before my term started and took the test day one. I was surprised how much of it was covered in a&p from my nursing prerequisite courses.
@@BenWeintraub I start September 1st. I’m trying to finish biochem and stats super quick as well. What advice do you have for me? I also work in the hospital 3 days a week night shift. I can probably get some stuff done here at work as well
@@_nursepat I would recommend starting to study for biochem as soon as you can. I was able to access the biochem lecture info 2 weeks before I technically began the program. This helped me complete the course day 1! Stats didn't seem overly difficult, but I do enjoy working with numbers. Luckily I had 8 nights off in a row so I was able to complete a lot during that time. I actually did very little schoolwork while on shift, but if you can study even a little, it could help!
I believe you have to do some remediation then you can retake it. If you fail again, there is more you have to do and pay a $60 fee. Luckily I never failed a test.
My recruiter says that biochemistry is not a part of the RN-BSN program. I guess it use to be. Idk
Lucky you 😉
Yh, now it's Patho
Great video! Keep them coming🙂
Thanks! I'll upload another update hopefully soon :)

@@BenWeintraub great, thank you! I'll check the groups out. Will be looking forward to more of your contents.
How were u able to get biochem done in 1 day? U must be a science wiz

How did you study for biochem? Did you read material and test or did you use other sources?
I watched the recorded cohort videos almost exclusively. I took both of the PAs and passed them prior to May 1st.

@@BenWeintraub I keep hearing people talk about the “page 10 videos and dump files”. I am printing those today and starting.
Did you take biochem in the past and have to take it again with WGU?
I did not take it prior to WGU.
If you fail a class do you get to retake the final exam to pass?
