    Something I've done with masking fluid that I really liked the look of was I used an old scotchbrite pad to apply it. It gives a cool random effect that I used for my mandalorian helmet.

    Can you print this kit on a more budget focused filament extrusion printer using ABS? Or is the resolution not high enough?

    Damn it, Bill! Why did you share the "metal splinter under the nail" story? Now my insides feel all funny and my face is stuck in a permanent cringe. That's terrible, and undeniable the WORST possible splinter.

    I know you did a lot of resin mold and casting videos before but I'm currently trying to make a mold of a lightsaber and make it hollow so I can insert electronics, I thought slush casting would be a good way to do it but do you have any advice? it'd be greatly appreciated

    Quick question, if I don't have a 3D printer is there a site where I can pay for someone to print it for me then ship the parts to me?

    Anyone have any recommendations for a lightsaber hilt I can buy for under 200 (either metal or 3D printed) as I want to build something like this but I don't have a printer myself

    • @regikun
      @regikun 7 років тому

      Theres plenty of aluminum ones. Just search Ultrasabers or saberforge. Theyre like the beginners for duelable lightsabers. but for under 200 there's no sound. People also do 3d print chassis and crystal chambers inside those hilts and add their own soundboards and crystals to make it even cooler :D.

    Another method for paint chipping that I've encountered is to paint the metal layer first and then spray it with hairspray. Finally put on the paint layer and once dry, the hairspray should have prevented it adhering to the metal layer. You can then use a cocktail stick to scratch away at edges. Of course that means that you have a paint layer that isn't adhered properly. I don't know if a coat of crystal clear will fix that or whether it's intended for models that aren't meant to be handled (I got this from a tank modeller). I don't know. I've not used it myself. I tend to use the masking fluid method that you use.

      Also, I'm curious about the inscription on the side. I presume it's Aurebesh but it actually looks like Hebrew. :D
