Do you smell a smell? A funny sort of smell. I smell a new mini series that tells the in depth history of all our characters and equipment as well as the railway and towns history because this was OUTSTANDING!
If I were own a railway, I would definitely operate the "As Built" DR1202 because it would make a unique concept in the railway history plus I really want to see a British 4-8-2 actually be built
Mr. Smash: I tell you Zeke, we may be looking at the future greatest freight engine the Dark Railway has ever seen. In the distance: Ey up?! Great Video Mr. Dibden. The loco is truly amazing to look at. Can't wait to see what the replica does when it debuts in the series
please make more of these videos! really enjoyable to watch, would be great to see the others locos on the railway get a history episode!v keep up the good work
You claimed the Loco was Cut up in 1946 pre-BR Days however in one of the Photographs I noticed the Locomotive was hauling BR Standard Vent Van built from the Early 1950s Onwards.
Could you please consider making a Dark Railway Prequel series in the future? I would be interested in watching what happened before the Dark Railway series began, and what led to it.
10:51 wait a diddily darn minute here, is that referencing one of the early sessions when dye (or die which ether way of saying his name) visited the railway as a sort of crossover with over the hills?
@@DDJP I now wonder if that board member who authorized Bob's scrapping knew of his true colors and that was secretly the real reason why he proposed he be scrapped?
I keep coming back to this video just because I love listening to all the lore here.
Guess I really need to get on with the Cathy History video now.
Please do! 🤩

Everyone: his name is Rick
The ghost of Big Bob: MY NAME’S NOT RIIIIIIICK
There's a pickle joke in here somewhere
Its kind of interesting to see a British mountain. The design kind of reminds me of south African locomotives.
Given the DR's location in SR territory, I wonder if electrification had also been on the cards, instead of this locomotive.....

I think I know were that Ey up?! Came from a certain 9f that well dose not follow all the rules
@@ciala51 Exactly😁
Loved this greatly. DR1202 is a very unique locomotive. Love the design.
Am I mad in thinking a Corridor Tender would look magnificent on this beast?
No.

I will be watching this tonight. Jumping back into a D&D game
Sod it, they're taking too long XD

Shhhhhhh
LNER in Drag ay...
@@DDJP it must’ve been a ghost!
This was a good video, I think this would make a great Dark railway prequel.

7:29 is that the u class ‘James’ from 257’s story in his debut episode

Oooooohh a history video, I love me one of those
Alternate history is good stuff 👍
I once created a whole fictional world just around a Locomotive Works, of which I still use.
love it !! will become a patrion soon
Could we see an animation of the old valve gear
Propably never.
Woah, I guess we did get that
I would like to know some of the Physical details of the Boiler
Oh 10 quid says Tom is gonna have Mr.Dark cry when Zek reveals big boys replica to him
Bob*
is the dark railway on the steam workshop?
Edit: I have been waiting for a year or longer and I still haven’t got a yes or no reply
Finally
11:24 I do like this render of the locomotive
Do season 9 episode seven
Good video, though I've not heard "mikado" pronounced that way (3:19).
Same
Any particular reason for the loco to be numbered 1202?
I'm having trouble remembering....is the dark railway currently in 1969-1970 or is it 1970-71
I think it's already 1972-1973-ish.
@@oliverthegreatwesternengin8029 I just figured it out....we are in 1974 at the moment....it took me a minute to find out on the wiki
@@blasterblaster1221 I think we are already in 1976. The Museum Tour is dated 1976.
@@oliverthegreatwesternengin8029 wiki said the viaduct collapsed in 74....I think the museum is just a preview for later
@@blasterblaster1221 Okay then. That means nothing will really happen to the museum in the next two years at least.
Who's back here after watching the S12 episode "Outrage"?
Me :3
@@DDJP I now wonder if that board member who authorized Bob's scrapping knew of his true colors and that was secretly the real reason why he proposed he be scrapped?
We'll just just see what S13 will bring in terms of bob's scraping
I’m back from Time Limited
Is Rick manually fired or does he have a mechanical stoker?
Manual.
@@DDJP RIP fireman
I would have fired every person that had to do with the disposal of my engine too... it is very justified that mr dark did that
Iain Garbison agreed. But the real question is does Mr.Dark know about the replica
@@madjames9365 I hope not, that would make for a great surprise for him.
@@DanielChannel57 agreed.
All I can gather from this is that it's basicly the DR version of a 9f
Would have been pretty cool if Britain had made a mountain type locomotive, but I guess we had the LNER P1s
so this engine used a lot of coal then?
I think that dr1202 is stronger the the lner p2 mkcardo so it is the strongest steam locomotive in britain
Just shy of 55,000 pounds of force tractive effort wise. So yes very ppwerful.
DR1202 is pretty chonky engine or to put it in more correct terms
AN ABSOLUTE UNIT
