Yes! FInally some Expose! This group OWNED the airwaves in the late 80s, when they rattled off seven straight Top 10 hits. "Come Go With Me" was the first, followed by "Point of No Return", "Let Me Be The One", "Seasons Change", "What You Don't Know", "When I Looked at Him", and "Tell Me Why". The ladies in the group on this record are lead vocalist Jeanette Jurado, with Gioia Bruno and Ann Curless singing backup. Thanks for reacting!
hi Patrick i als remember this group which i liked very much i also seen them in concert in the 80s in ventura california along with lisa lisa and the cult jam
Point of No Return and Seasons Change are BANGERS!
'Point of No Return' is great. (Also Pretty Poison - 'Catch Me (I'm Falling)'; and Company B - 'Fascinated' are great '80s hits with similar vibe.)
Their FIRST song was Point of No Return, followed by Exposed to Love, with the original lineup.
Anybody that followed freestyle back then knows this.
Does anyone else's heart actually ACHE with nostalgia when you hear songs like this?? I can literally remember EVERYTHING about what I was doing and who I was with, where I was when this song was popular. It's wild. It makes me sad that those days are gone. ❤️💔
The 80s were magical
We are SO lucky to have grown up in thr 80's
Yes,nostalgia is ripping me-APART.Tears in my eyes.
Wow, Latin Freestyle is kicking it up with nostalgia in 2022!! Interesting story regarding Expose tho...have to admit, I like the 2nd album more...
Same!! Great memories
“Seasons Change”
“I’ll never get over you getting over me.”
“When I looked at him.”
All incredible songs by this group.
I think you meant "I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me" 😁
Don't forget about "Your Baby Never Looked Good In Blue."
''Let Me Be The One'' was a HUGE hit by Expose as well 😁😁
@@Jesse_At_NewMexico Always loved that one!
December
I love Expose and this song. They also have so many more great songs. Point of No Return is another great one from them.
I was a DJ in the mid-late 80’s and Point of No Return was my favorite plus most most requested Expose song.
I still have my 45 record of Point of No Return!
Please do some music from the Jets family. They were a great family group.
Let me be the one
@@DocRock1965 "What You Don't Know" is probably my favorite and for the ballads, I love "When I Looked At Him" which is one I play for my husband when I'm playing records
"Let me be the one" is a great song by Expose!
Definitely my favorite!
Mine too!!!!
I thought that was saphire who sings let me be the one.
This is quintessential 80's pop. Point of No Return is also amazing.
Guys go down this rabbit hole you will not be disappointed!!! "Seasons Change", "Point of No Return", "Let Me Be the One", "When I looked at Him", "What You Don't Know" are all just incredible songs by this amazing group!!!
Expose and En Vogue were my favorite female bands!! Their powerful vocals and catchy beats!! Please consider Nu Shooz "I Can't Wait" it's an 80s banger!! Keep smiling! 🎶😄🎶
Yessss !!!
B-b-baby, I can’t wait
Expose was of the Latin freestyle genre and were the most successful group from that to crossover to mainstream success. It was great to see a Latina sing lead in a girl band back then!
SEASONS CHANGE & WHEN I LOOKED AT HIM, HUGE SONGS BY THIS GREAT FEMALE 80' S GROUP,
I LOVE SO MUCH EXPOSE 💪💯💪
Two of my fave songs, and it's funny I was just watching all of these, including the featured reaction song vids just yesterday!!! 😄😄😍🥰
Seasons change I think is their best song.
We had this album EXPOSURE on cassette back in the 80’s and we played it in a loop in our car for like a year straight. The whole family jammed out to it! Every song on this album is fire!! Which was unusual for pop music back then. They changed the face of pop music. Check out their performance of POINT IF NO RETURN on SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE APPOLO! They brought the house down!
Underrated song by Exposé because it wasn't released as a single is; "Your baby never looked good in blue".
Love Exposè. This song was a mainstay on pop radio. Seasons Change is another big hit on the slower side. Takes me back 🤗
Nobody has mentioned "As Long as I Can Dream" (written by Roy Robison & Diane Warren) yet, so here it is.
As long as i can dream is one of my all time faves!
@@wildheart7793 Unfortunately, I think Apple Music took down the official music video on various sites.
Amber & Jordan, Exposé is an American 🇺🇸 Latin freestyle vocal group formed in 1️⃣9️⃣8️⃣4️⃣ in Miami, Florida. Primarily consisting of lead vocalists Jeanette Jurado, Ann Curless, and Gioia Bruno, the group achieved much of their success between 1️⃣9️⃣8️⃣4️⃣ and 1️⃣9️⃣9️⃣3️⃣. They became the first group to attain four top-1️⃣0️⃣entries on the Billboard Hot 🥵 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ 💯 since their debut album, including 1️⃣9️⃣8️⃣8️⃣ number-one single "Seasons Change". In March 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣5️⃣, Billboard magazine named the group the eighth most-successful girl 👧 group of all-time.
The group was popular in dance clubs, mainstream Top 40 and adult contemporary charts in the United States. They actively toured and recorded music from 1984 to 1995, then retired from recording and public performances for 8 years until 2003. They currently tour today.
THE COVER GIRLS were a great all girl group from the 80’s! Check out the songs SHOW ME, MY HEART SKIPS A BEAT, BECAUSE OF YOU, and INSIDE OUTSIDE. This GENRE of music is called FREESTYLE
Also, ALL THAT GLITTERS ISN'T GOLD & PROMISE ME are other great hits by them.
They were in the era of Bananarama, The Pointer Sisters, The Mary Jane Girls, Vanity 6, even Sister Sledge ... ( you guys check out Sister Sledge and The Pointer Sisters are super underrated)
I absolutely love when Jeanette sings lead for Exposé. You should check out "Your Baby Never Looked Good In Blue." Her voice literally makes me melt! 😍
All three ladies sing lead in Expose on different songs, but Jeanette who sings lead here sings the most lead across their three albums. Gioia is probably the most dynamic singer and leads some of their more soulful songs. Their first album, in particular, is perfect and is arguably the best, most quintessential, freestyle album ever made.
Wildly popular group in the 80s and, sadly, somewhat forgotten (as nearly all freestyle artists have been, unfortunately) since
Get into:
December (their best song)
Point of No Return
Let Me Be The One
Exposed to Love
Seasons Change
What You Don't Know
Unfortunately most pop and rock music after 87 or 88 will be for the most part forgotten. Most music after those years just doesn't have a lasting quality as music of previous decades.
YES, FINALLY! Love Exposé - these gals were fierce. They have a great vibe and you will love their other hits! We hit the dance floor with Exposé, big hair, 80s fashion, and attitude!
I grew up with this genre of music, it’s called freestyle, and there were more groups like Exposé, The Cover Girls, Sweet Sensation, etc.
You guys have to react to "Want Me" by Jody Watley. She's extremely over looked and if it wasn't for Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson she probably would have been the best female pop artist of the 80's. Also have to mention that most of her earlier stuff when she was in the group Shalamar was amazing as well like "Make That Move and The Second Time Around".
You for got about Madonna. She was bigger than any of the females you mentioned. You could also make a case for Gloria Esthepon. (Sorry if I spelled her name wrong).
@@chrisoakley5830 Gloria Estefan
@@MChantal76 Thanks, I knew I spelled it wrong.
@@chrisoakley5830 Both great artists to mention. But Madonna was already a superstar and an 80s icon during the time I was referencing so I do think it's fair to compare them against her. The other ladies got very popular after Madonna was huge and were in more direct competition with each other in the pop/r&b genre. As for Gloria, she did get her start as early as Madonna and even though most of early hits were sung in English I personally place her in the latin music genre and not comparable to any of the the other female artists mentioned. That's just my opinion.
@@claudioortiz9007 Hey, it's cool all the ladies mentioned were great entertainers. I wasn't hating on Jodi or Janet in fact I loved them both back in those days. I just felt that overall for the 80s Madonna was perhaps the biggest star during that time but like you said it's only my opinion. For what little it's worth.
Expose had several hits in the 80s, another pop song of theirs was “Point of no Return” and some nice soft ballads by them were “Seasons Change” and “I never get over you”, they were part of the Latin Freestyle sound coming out from MIA and other similar artists were Lisa Lisa Cult Jam with their hit Head to Toe, Company B, Pajama Party, The Cover Girls and there were several other groups fusing electronic beats, with pop and Latin sounds. Nice pick if you want a similar group with this type of look and sound then definitely The Cover Girls with “Show me.”
I'm a rock guy, but I love Expose. Very good production, song writing, and vocals/instrumentation.
They were at the forefront of the Freestyle music genre. This was hot when I was DJing parties and weddings and easily filled the floor when I played this and Point of No Return.... 🔥
Takes me back to the “flier” parties!!!! Those were the days!!!!!
You two should check out a R&B girl band called Klymaxx. They had jams like "Meeting In the Ladies Room", "The Men All Pause", "I Miss You", "Lock and Key", "I'd Still Say Yes" and "Video Kid". A really great underrated band!
Love Klymaxx! Those ladies could jam!! "Wild Girls" and "Meeting in the Ladies Room" are my favorites!!
Ooooo…girl! How many times have I danced in my room until I almost passed out back in the day to Exposé? 😵💫 Thank you for this. ✌🏽❤️
Miami Freestyle at its best. This group was started in Miami with 3 teenage girls that went to my brother's school. They released their first jams that exploded in the club scene and on radio air waves by a local DJ. The first hits "Point of No Return" and "Exposed to Love" made them a sensation in the club scene. Saw them several times live in the clubs. Eventually they changed all the members of the group cause they wanted to appeal to older people as well. The girls weren't getting paid jack either. Later they became very mainstream pop and lost the club sound. Still a great trio. I'll take all the Freestyle you guys want to listen to.
80s, 90s freestyle music! 🕺. Popular back in the days. Latin music influenced hip hop, R&B. We loves this at parties, skating rinks, and dance clubs lol. Check out others from this subgenre like Lisa Lisa and the Cult Jam, Lil Suzy, Lisette Melendez, Stevie B, Cynthia, Cover Girls, Johnny O,
Shannon, Corina, Company B, Rockell, and a whole lot more others!
"Point Of No Return", "Seasons Change", "Let Me Be The One"... All great songs!!!
This sound was part of a style dubbed Latin Freestyle. The 1st latin explosion with Gloria Estefan, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Menudo etc. Everyone from Madonna(Las Isla Bonita) Pet Shop Boys(Domino Dancing) to Debbie Gibson (Only in my Dreams) Drums, Congas, Maracas, Spanish Guitar & other Latin based instruments/sounds were used. Latin Freestyle, a cross between R&B & Pop. It incorporated beat box, break beat sounds with vocal in spanglish. Often singles were released in both english and spanish on the A side with the Spanglish on the B side. The lush and hard hitting sounds are eternal, never getting old.
I still have all their records! Love them! The Mary Jane Girls had a great 80’s song….In My House!
Would love to see more Expose, they have so many good ones. Some ideas for more 80s/90s female pop groups Sweet Sensation, The Cover Girls, Seduction, Bananarama, & Klymaxx
These girls are from my hometown South Florida!!! Love love love them!!!! This is the music of my high school days…love it!!!
Wife here..Taking me back to Cheerleading and school dances with this one!!
Let Me Be The One is another banger by Expose!
You ought to check out Exposé's TV performance for It's Showtime at the Apollo during its 1st season. This group did Latin freestyle songs that hit #1 on the club charts with “Come Go With Me” and ”Point of No Return”, as well as ”What You Don't Know” and ”Tell Me Why”, but they also did slow ballads like “When I Looked At Him”.
I was in college when this song came out. This was a dance club staple along with songs like Right On Track by The Breakfast Club, Lean On Me by Club Nouveau, Looking For A New Love by Jody Watley, Push It by Salt-N-Pepa, and Girlfriend by Pebbles.
Expose rules the 80's for high energy dance music, but they could also put down a slow jam as well. all 3 of these women can sing too, it's not just a lead and 2 backups
Exposé was one of my favorites when I was a kid! They all had great voices, but Gioia's was the most distinctive. When I looked at Him, Seasons Change, In Walked Love, Tell Me Why, Point of No Return...There's so much here. Go for it!
Love Expose'!!!! "Your Baby Never Looked Good In Blue", "Seasons Change", "Point Of No Return", "Let Me Be the One", "I'll Say Goodbye For the Two of Us".... Great songs by a great group.😀❤
Love Expose, they had many great pop songs. True story: Their Greatest Hits CD is my interview playlist (yes, CD. I am old.) I have gotten hired for every single job I wanted when I played that CD on the way to the interview. The one time I didn't-because I left the CD at home accidentally-didn't get hired. Nobody asked and it doesn't mean anything but I felt like sharing that.
5 words: Let me be the one! My all time favorite of theirs
Yes! It’s one of their best song’s altogether!
All three ladies of this group can sing and share the lead vocals on the albums.
“I’ll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me” is a beautiful song. They’re amazing!
A very slept on group, especially considering they had one of the most impressive chart runs of the era with 7 top ten hit songs on the Billboard Hot 100 from 1986-1992. Their best song arguably, "Exposed To Love" was never released as a single from their first album. Amber and Rob should react to that song!
Finally, told y’all to try them months ago. Miami dance scene here. The Jets are an all family group from the 80s y’all should check out.
"LET ME BE THE ONE" ALL DAY LONG THIS 80s GIRL GROUP HAD A MASSIVE HIT WITH THIS IN THE UK IN 80s. FOR REACTION!!. ; )
"What You Don't Know" and "Tell Me Why" are also musts from this group! Also? Y'all crack me up!
Wow...I'd almost forgotten about this group! Yeah, they were super big on the 80's dance-pop scene. As other's have said, " Let me be the One", "Point of No Return", and "Seasons Change" were other hits of theirs, to name a few. They had other hits too.
Being from Miami, we are proud of our girls! Let Me Be The One is my jam!
I am so glad you finally got into Exposé. Although that was considered pop music many people will tell you it falls into a new genre of music for you called Freestyle Music. You already heard Taylor Dayne - Tell it to my heart, Shannon - Give me tonight, Lisa Lisa & cult jam - Head to toe And now Exposé. But please consider The Cover Girls - Show me, Sweet Sensation - Hooked on you, and Pajama Party - Hide and Seek.
Lisa Lisa and cult jam were huge in new york late 80s her biggest hit was TAKE ME HOME; straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 !!!
I love Expose! U remember singing and dancing to their songs as a young teen girl. Glad you guys reacted to them although there are many more hits! ‘Exposed To Love’ is one I absolutely love from them!
Jeanette Jurado's voice was simply amazing and to me was the cutest Latina artist to come in the 80's! This band should be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame hands down!
A great ballad by them is "I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me".
That was their last hit if I remember correctly. Another great ballad after that was "I'll Say Goodbye For The Two Of Us".
Also... Your Baby Never Looked Good In Blue.
Yes! Yes! Yesssssssssss!
Expose was one of the main stays of the 80's girl trio groups. Just all of a sudden there was a whole bunch of female trios in the 80's like this group and Bananarama and Wilson-Philips...etc. Expose was one of my favorites.
Expose...Seasons Change...Point Of No Return...Man you guys took me back to when I was 15 years old! I'm 50 NOW!!! There WILL NEVER BE AN ERA LIKE THE 80'S!! EVERYTHING FROM ARCADES..TO BLOCK BUSTER VIDEOS ON THE WEEKENDS..THE MOVIES, CANDIES, SKATING RINKS, THE DISCOS...IT WAS THE BEST ERA TO BE A KID...A TEENAGER. MAN I WISH I COULD BACK FOR JUST A FULL 24 HOURS! THE MUSIC WAS ALL GENRES. FROM POP TO ROCK..RNB TO OLD SCHOOL HIP HOP. MUSIC JUST HAS A WAY OF HEALING THE SOUL..KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!! YOUR LATINA FAN SUB
Their hottest joint was "Let Me Be The One", and also their hit, "Point of No Return" was the ish too!
Exposé great girl group. Lite and airy dance music, great to dance to🎶😁💃 coming to you from the sunshine state. The will know Latin Freestyle music. Great reaction 😁👍🏼
Man ....Really cool..delving into the 80's freestyle music! There are SOOOOOO many amazing songs and artists!!!...Need to get to Lisa Lisa , Noel, Lisette Melendez, Cynthia!! Man there's so many!!!
I bought this album when it came out just for this song, but they have a couple other really good tracks on this album too. Skating rink? This was huge at the clubs!
Yes, that's our Miami "latin freestyle" genre! Expose originated from Miami and dominated the airways in the mid to late 80s. Little known fact, the girls you see there actually replaced the original trio. If you want to compare, listen to the song "Exposed to Love" which was recorded by the orignal members. Another all girl band from Miami to check out is Company B, also latin freestyle. Check out their hit "Fascinated". Most songs from this genre are dance music but Expose has 3 amazing ballads: "Seasons Change", "December", "When I Looked at Him".
Expose was one of a whole bunch of groups of this era that pumped out singles. Reminds me of a lot of other groups/songs: "Lisa Lisa & The Cult Jam" - I wonder if I take you home, Taylor Dane - Tell it to my heart, Nenah Cherry - "Buffalo Stance", Lisa Stanfield - All around the world, Sade - Smooth Operator, Nu Shooz - I Can't Wait, Soul II Soul - Back 2 Life, Jane Child - Don't want to fall in love, Teena Marie - Lovergirl, Sheila E. - The Glamorous Life, Mary Jane Girls - In My House, Jody Watley - Don't You Want me, The Jets - Crush on you, Pretty Poison - Catch Me I'm falling. Swing out sister - Breakout, The Pointer Sisters - Automatic, and this was around the time when Madonna, Janet Jackson , Whitney and Paula Abdul all blew up. It influenced all those 90's groups and female artists like Jade, SWV, TLC, Brandy, MJ Blige, Toni Braxton, Cassie, Aaliyah .... lots of great music, a lot of it ripe for rediscovery. Hope u2 keep digging!
Ahhh my teen years...This song was considered freestyle music back in the day in NYC. I remember the DJs mixing this one in all the time in their sets.Great song and they have a few other classics.
"Let Me Be The One" is my favorite. I love Gioia's voice.
Expose became one of the most successful Female Groups of all time. Their voices, music, and talent evolved over time. They are so good!
"Tell Me Why" was a great song with the lyrics containing social commentary. They also had great ballads. "Seasons Change" "When I Looked at Him" and "I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me"
These ladies had a great run in the late 80s and early 90s.
Underrated, awesome group! Saw them in concert. Their main singer, Gioia, was terrific!
*Their hit "Point of No Return" is their BEST. Issa WHOLE VIBE!!!*
Ther was the Cover Girls, Sweet Sensation, and Pajama Party. Other girls were India, Brenda K. Star, Nocera, and many more.
They were all part of the Latin Freestyle Sound of the 80's and you mostly heard them on Urban Radio stations in NYC, LA, Miami, Chicago, etc. These bands were huge back then!
This made me so happy I love this group. Those ladies rocked!!!!!
What you've just experienced is the 1980s Miami-based freestyle! Yes, I recommend Point of No Return, Seasons Change and I'll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me next from the ladies of Exposé.
This Is Freestyle. Love Freestyle Music!!!!!
Well another 80s female pop group is Bananarama "Venus", "Cruel Summer", "I Heard A Rumor", "Love In The First Degree", and "I Want You Back".
Exposé had so many hits. “Seasons Change” is still one of my faves; it definitely has that 80s nostalgia for me. I think you guys would also like the artist Pebbles. She also had a fair number of hits, the first that comes to mind is “Girlfriend.”
Thant longer skirt the lead singer is wearing was such a fashion choice back then. I had one with hot pink and white horizontal stripes, and wore it with an oversized hot pink button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and belted with a little gold belt. It was definitely a…. choice 😂 But I thought I looked so totally rad
Love the Miami beat! This is a classic 80's dance hall cut!!
Jermaine Stewart - „You don‘t have to take your clothes of“ So good😊
...to have a good time, oh no 🎶
As a kid, I had a big crush on these ladies, especially the one singing lead on this song, Jeanette Juraddo.
Check out "Point of No Return", "Let Me Be The One" "Seasons Change", "What You Don't Know" (this one has a great horn section playing in the song), "Tell Me Why", and "When I Looked At Him"
YES!!! An 80's fave girl group for sure! Have you checked out EnVogue??
FINALLY, Expose is one of my favorite Female Bands. Saw them twice in concert They still perform together. Another one of their big songs was "Let Me Be The One" and their only number 1 hit was a slower song Seasons Change" i also enjoy ".Stop Listen Look and Think" There were so many female bands in the 80s that you need to check out,. The Cover Girls, The Flirts, Seduction, Sweet Sensation, Company B, FuzzBox, Vanity 6, Mary Jane Girls, Klymaxx, Pointer Sisters, female duos Mel & Kim, Pepsi and Shirley, Other 80's ladies you should check out, Nancy Martinez, Jody Watley, Cynthia, Stacy Q, Cathy Dennis, Shana, Debbie Gibson, Samantha Fox, Lisa Fiorillo, Lisa Lisa, Regina, Stephanie Mills.. Some of these werent as famous as others and some just one hit wonders, but should be checked out.
Nice list, I like that Flirts in there
Omg you just reacted to my FAVORITE "girl group"!!! You should so try Let Me Be The One by them, it has a more 80's r&b vibe
Expose has so many great jams!
It's so crazy that I haven't heard this song since the 90's yet I remembered every single word.
Love Expose! This is a short version of the song. There's a longer version we were playing in the clubs back then that's REALLY nice
YYYYEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! These ladies were big in high school. Even the guys liked them, their music was a little edgy and intense, hit hard. Being out of Miami, they had some Latin beat in there, which I've loved since I Love Lucy reruns.
Love expose! Their catalogue along with Lisa Lisa and high energy/freestyle from the 80s
Man, this is the music that I grew up with. They are STILL hot! You guys missed out on all the great freestyle music of the 80s. Glad that you got introduced to them.
One of my wife's favs. Thanks! Millie just reminded me she and one of our boys saw Expose here in our towm Our 13-yr old son could NOT be restrained from charging the stage, lol!
This song is the bomb!!! Takes me back to some wonderful childhood memories.😁
I love Expose! I still see them often as they tour as part of the Freestyle Explosion.
This song/group reminds me that it is time for some more Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam too!
Spent many Saturday nights skating to this. Thanks for the memories and great reaction video.
3:03 This song was Expose's debut song. The song peaked at the #5 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the spring of 1987. Come Go With Me was the first of their seven songs to hit the Billboard Top 10 chart all in a row. That puts Expose in second place right behind The Supremes having the most songs hitting the Billboard Top 10 all in a row. The Supremes' record is 9. By the way, this song is a definite banger indeed!!!
Thank you for reacting to Exposé. My favorite group. That was Jeanette singing lead. For a listen to Gioia's vocals, try "Let me be the One" or "What you Don't Know". For Ann try "Stop Listen Look and Think". For some great ballads try these by Jeanette-- "Seasons Change" or "When i Looked at Him" and by Gioia-- "Didn't it Hurt to Hurt Me?" or "December".
In the same vibe, you should check out "Two To Make It Right" by Seduction, whose lineup included Drag Race's Michelle Visage and actress/MTV VJ Idalis de León, and was a US #2 hit in 1989.
So Love that you Love!!!! They were everything. I totally would lose myself when their songs came on! I teach dance fitness and play Expose's "Point of No Return" for our warm-up. Cover Girls, Lisa Lisa, Sweet Sensation, Shannon were my life!
This group was part of the Miami club sound that went mainstream. Awesome dance club band for sure!!!
Y'all will love the sax in "I'LL Never Get Over You Getting Over Me"....power ballad status. 😍 "Point of No Return" was the skating rink jam Jay. 🔥
