Big beautiful voice, Taylor Dayne's straight forward power and passion grabbed her many top 10 hits in the late 80's. This was her first big hit followed by Prove Your Love, I'll Always Love You, Don't Rush Me, With Every Beat of My Heart, the #1 hit and beautiful ballad Love Will Lead You Back, and I'll Be Your Shelter.
Huge dance club hit in the 80's. Powerful voice. If you want to experience her range, try "I'll Always Love You," a ballad popular as a first dance for brides and grooms.
Here voice isn't just powerful, IT IS GORGEOUS!!! Her and the 3 ladies from the Group, Expose' were the greatest female voices of that time!!! Taylor Dayne is one of my female idols, and role models!! She is indescribable!!! so Amazing!!!
Taylor Dayne has such a powerful voice! I loved her dance era songs! Check out "Don't Rush Me" and her ballads "Send Me a Lover" and "Love Will Lead You Back" are great examples of her range. Keep smiling! 🤗🤗🤗
Taylor was one of the few singers I remember hearing that they were classically trained by studying opera before finding fame in rock music. That kind of training gives a singer a real powerhouse of a voice.
Love Taylor Dayne! I highly recommend Love Will Lead You Back, a ballad which went to #1 in 1990. I get emotional every time I hear it. Fun fact: Taylor appeared on The Masked Singer last year. Still rocking today!
"Tell It To My Heart" peaked on the Billboard Pop chart @ #7 & on the Dance chart @#4 in1987. It was the 1st of 7 Top 10 singles on the Pop chart (charted 10 times in total) and the 1st of 12 charted singles on the Dance chart.
Later in my Navy career, my sub was in Portsmouth, Va for an overhaul. Me and some of my Nuke buddies found a club in Virginia Beach called September's in the late 80s. When Taylor came on, the floor was packed! Such great memories.
This was 1987, so she was on the cutting edge of that wave as it rolled into the 90s. Such an incredible voice. Used to blow the roof off the clubs. She also has some great R&B hits. "I'll be Your Shelter" is my fave from her.
Out in 88, I loved it then still do. A terrific singer. Can't understand why she wasn't more popular. Still performing sounds great, looks great all good for me.
Taylor Dayne was on FIRE in the late 80's (1987-1990), with back to back top 10 hits!!! You should also check out "Prove Your Love", which was another dancefloor scorcher!!!
Love will lead you back and I’ll always love you should be the next songs!!! Love her voice and music!!! She is a powerhouse!!!!! Played her songs at my wedding!!!!!!! She was on the Masked Singer and went very far! She is great live!
Simple advice you must hear I’ll always love you and love will lead you back they are classics while Taylor didn’t have a long run in the late 80’s to early nineties she still is a true talent
Taylor Dayne came before Fresh Prince in 1990, this was 1988 and she had some great hits during this time! I never saw her videos before, but heard her constantly on radio play! Love her voice and her music!
Taylor Dane has a strong voice... 1988 I believe...more hits...'I'll Always Love You' ...'Love Will Lead You Back' ...'I'll be Your Shelter'....great songs.
Taylor Dayne is one of my favorite. She is gorgeous and man can she sing. Anything by her is worth a listen. I'll Be Your Shelter is my favorite from her. She was the Popcorn on Masked Singer...lol
Danced to this song many of nights back in the day. Taylor Dayne is awesome! She has a wicked strong voice. And girl, you are wrong. LoL It’s definitely late 80’s! 😂

This is the first Taylor Dayne reaction I've ever seen & I'm excited to see it. I still hear her hits played on the soundtrack at work...she's not forgotten. 80s Queen!
Yessss finally! What a powerful voice! She was amazing on the Masked Singer recently!! I’ll Always Love You or Love Will Lead You Back please next!! So many good songs!! Plus she’s gorgeous. 👌🏼👌🏼👍🏼❤️
Oh this brings back memories.. and makes me think of Samantha Fox - Touch Me, Lee Aaron - Whatcha Do To My Body.. and Martika - Toy Soldier. Late 80's girls having fun... lol...
Yes‼️ Taylor Dayne‼️ Love her - what a powerhouse‼️ "Tell it to My Heart" was released in 1988. The hair, the clothes, the decade...all awesome! I've already watched a few times...great memories. Lol! Thanks for the reaction. Other suggestions: "Love Will Lead You Back", "Prove Your Love," or "I'll Always Love You." 🤩
I loved this song so much in college. I'll never forget my boyfriend at the time was very into classic rock, guitar rock, etc... but, he said Taylor Dayne was the only pop star that could actually sing. Lol. BTW - she's out on tour now, and still looks amazing.
Great song and boy did I have a MASSIVE crush on Taylor Dayne, talented and hot. She had string of hits back in the day (late 80's and early 90's) after this song: "Prove Your Love", "I'll Always Love You", "Don't Rush Me", "With Every Beat of My Heart", and "Love Will Lead You Back". Definitely check out some of her other stuff.
I'm so glad you discovered at her most popular late 80s/early 90s blue eyed American pop/soul singer Taylor Dayne! She's an exceptional vocalist and performer who is so underrated. One of my favorite bits about her is from comedian Tig Notaro, who shared in one of her standup sets meeting Dayne on several occasions, each time professing her appreciation of Dayne and her music with the exact same statement. In funny & endearing return, Dayne repaid Notaro by surprising Notaro while she was onstage doing a set, where Dayne sang to Notaro. Both clips can be found on youtube. Recommended songs, some of which share similar vibes and/or themes (indicated by the "/" symbol): "Prove Your Love"/ "Don't Rush Me"/"With Every Beat Of My Heart" ""Heart Of Stone"^/"I'll Always Love You"/"Love Will Lead You Back" "I'll Be Your Shelter" ""Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" (fantastic Barry Williams cover, I tend to playlist pair it with Lisa Stanfield's "Been Around The World", also another incredible female Barry Williams cover from an amazing blue eyed soul vocalist) "Original Sin" (If you ever get a chance to watch it, in my opinion, one of the best comic/radio characters ever adapted into a film in 1992, "The Shadow", this was a marvelously theatrical soundtrack song from it, written by the late great symphonic rock composer Jim Steinman. Steinman also contributed some memorable songs to the soundtrack of the 1984 stylistically influential neo noir rock musical "Streets Of Fire", another film worth reacting to. Over his career, Steinman collaborated often with legends like Barry Manilow, Bonnie Tyler, Meat Loaf, Barbara Streisand, Cher & Celine Dion.)
This particular song was actually from 1987, and rightfully got a TON of airplay during its run on the charts. The song itself has a sound very similar to a lot of Freestyle music during the mid to late 1980s, especially from groups like TKA, Cover Girls, and Exposé.
The 80s had the most variety of creative and original musical styles than any other era. There was something for everyone. Nothing energizes and makes me feel good more than a good 80s song, from any genre! I propose that this channel always includes at least one 80s song every day. Who's with me?
Taylor Dane...one of my favorite female vocalists of the 80's.....she can Sang!!!! She could bring SO MUCh POWER, then she could pour the emotion on like "I'll Always Love You" or "Love will lead you Back" She was also Popcorn on The Masked Singer. She was pure fire at that time! So Fun!!
I knew you would like her. Such a beautiful and unique voice, which I love. "Love Will Lead You Back" will show a softer, but just as powerful, side to her voice. Another Uber talented lady is Anita Baker, who I haven't heard on here yet. I believe Amber will especially love her.
Taylor Dayne is a powerhouse! This song rocks! Great reaction! React to her awesome track, “Prove Your Love,” next. Hey y’all just keep getting bigger and better! Know that along with that success, which you totally deserve, unfortunately comes more haters. IGNORE THEM! YOU ROCK! Hugs from DC. 🤗
Taylor Dayne was the shit back in day. This was late 80s for sure. She went from that to more power ballads. Her voice is so powerful and she does best, in my opinion, with R&B sounds. Two more you should check out from this same time frame is Stacy Q "Two of Hearts" and Samantha Fox. Both beautiful and talented women
Finally!!! I thought you'd love Taylor! :D Next you should definitely listen to "Original Sin" - Taylor's vocals + Jim Steinman's awesome soaring music makes for an amazing experience!
Thanks for doing this one. Taylor Dayne's songs were definitely big at the dance clubs back in the 80's. "Prove your Love" is also a really good up-tempo dance tune by her.
Taylor had the quintessential MTV package for the era and was an MTV darling in the later stages of its popularity. Several other hits worth looking into.
Her voice is amazing! You need to check out Every Beat Of My Heart, I’ll Be Your Shelter, Prove Your Love, Love Will Lead You Back, and my favorite is a Barry White cover: Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love! There is a singer Anastasia who sounds just like her! Check out her songs, I’m Outta Love and One Day In Your Life!
Taylor had a dozen different hairstyles in one during this video. Extensions, curled, teased, crimped, etc., and I was always for it. 😄 I suggest that you listen to "I'll Always Love You", then "Don't Rush Me". _Female Friday Suggestion_ *Basia* (Polish singer who sang with the group Matt Bianco) "Cruisin' for Brusin' " "New Day for You" "Prime Time TV" "Reward" "Astrud" " Time and Time" "How Dare You"

1987, re-released in 88 with a better album cover and then the album took off. 5 huge hits just from this album. Her 2nd album in 89 had 2 more big hits " with every beat of my heart' and " I'll be your shelter". Her Barry White cover of " can't get enough" did pretty well in 93. Since then she's had huge club hits, but not so much radio play
Yay finally. Not just 90s, she started in late 80s. I've been waiting for this. This is another one of those 80s queens that were the soundtrack of my childhood. Get ready to groove out. She was in that group with Janet, Paula Abdul, Chaka Khan, Jodi Watley, Pebbles, Sheila E....the queens of groove. But Taylor holds a special place in my heart. So much so this time I have to give you more than just one to listen to. Plan on doing "Prove Your Love", "I'll Always Love You", "Don't Rush Me", "With Every Beat of My Heart", "Love Will Lead You Back" and "I'll Be Your Shelter" and also "Heart of Stone".
Taylor Dayne was awesome in the late 80's & early 90's. She had some awesome dance songs, and even more awesome ballads! "I'll Always Love You," "Heart Of Stone" and the #1 hit "Love Will Lead You Back" are essential!!!
