    Thank you for the nice clear video. I made these rolls and what a treat with a thin slice of cheese and mayo. Do you have a recipe for a loaf of bread that'll make golden toast for my electric toaster? I don't know why but any loaves I make become almost too hard when toasted. I need that bread that goes a light golden colour and soaks up the butter. I use Marriages Canadian Strong White Bread Flour.

    • @omoyeokosun1052
      @omoyeokosun1052 3 роки тому +4

      It's not a mistake. One teaspoon of sugar is used to activate the yeast. The other one mentioned goes in the dough mix.. Both end up in the bread rolls. But coz yeast needs something to work on to come alive, you need to put sugar in it. Hope this helps

    Currently trying this out but my dough ain’t rise 😢 .. any advice please ?

    • @Kikifoodies
      @Kikifoodies  3 роки тому

      Hi. What kind of yeast did you use? Was the water/milk too hot? How long have you left it to rise?

    • @tyfiregyal
      @tyfiregyal 3 роки тому

      Kikifoodies I used atm royal instant dry yeast, with self rising flour, the milk was just warm. I left it to rise for 40 minutes.. do you think it might be the fact that I used margarine instead of butter?

    • @Kikifoodies
      @Kikifoodies  3 роки тому

      @@tyfiregyal no. That couldn’t have been the cost.
      The likely reason a dough didn’t rise is:
      1. Water/milk may have been too hot. Lukewarm Milk not hot to the touch works best.
      2. Yeast may have expired or gone bad.
      3.you used Dry yeast(which needs to be properly activated) instead of active dry or instant yeast.

    • @Kikifoodies
      @Kikifoodies  3 роки тому

      @@tyfiregyal also if your environment is cold, the dough might take a little longer to rise. Does it look like it’s rising at all?

    • @tyfiregyal
      @tyfiregyal 3 роки тому

      Kikifoodies yes it’s rising just a little but it’s almost insignificant 🤦🏽‍♀️.. do I need to let it rise before I start baking? Cus I’m about to just dump in inna the oven lol

    Whoa why so much sugar? Bread isn’t meant to be sweet……and yes I get that milk bread is a touch sweet, but the milk provides that.
