Driving Los Angeles : Santa Monica to Downtown LA on Saturday Night via Santa Monica Blvd
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 вер 2024
- Santa Monica Boulevard is a famous street located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. It starts at Sunset Boulevard in East Hollywood and extends all the way to Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica, where it meets the Pacific Ocean. I drive the entire length and continue onto Sunset Boulevard to Downtown LA. Some of the neighborhoods I pass through include Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Silver Lake, and Echo Park.

A glimpse of night travel from Santa Monica to downtown LA, busy traffic and multiple traffic lights can drive us crazy...AK's cool and calm bring us around to this busy routes...
Thank you so much for watching!
ActionKid, you are one of the few UA-cam channels I turn to for normal behavior. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Wow, you made a driving video that day too, and nice sunset at the beginning! 😎 It's nice to see this drive through Santa Monica, Sawtelle, Westwood, Century City, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Hollywood, Silver Lake, Echo Park, and Chinatown. I love seeing the neon lights on some of the structures in Chinatown! 😍 You did an excellent job covering multiple neighborhoods in LA! Thank you for sharing this informative and relaxing night drive, AK! 🤗
You're welcome, it was such a nice sunset to start the video off in Santa Monica
Just a 5 min drive ey

You mistakenly say that you are entering “West Hollywood” rather than “East Hollywood” when you cross over the 101 freeway.
I guess I did! Thanks for the correction!
Gonna watch this in more than one 'session'. Nostalgia and longing for some good times when I was young.
Once upon a time I wanted to relocate to L.A. and 1978 into1980 stayed over several times with a friend in the Valley and got a great look around by rides and on foot. Best trip was first. Things were still cheap and laid back enough in the late 70s to fly to S.F. for a weekend (stayed in the Y in the Tenderloin) and few to S.D. to visit college bud. No credit cards, no checking account and not working yet.
Last visits were at time of Northridge quake and in 2008, stayed in West Hollywood and Hollywood.
It’s great to see familiar streets like Wilshire Boulevard where my hotel located during my trip to Los Angeles ,these drives through the windshield are enjoyable way to absorb the athmosphere without being actually there in presence 😎Thank you for sharing this enjoyable and relaxing drive A K 😎🙂👍!!!
Same!!! It's surreal to think I've been there
@@dddaddy It's surreal and even more because it's L.A. I remember, being from the East Coast & how I'd wish for a thunderstorm in the summer, but every day was perfect
Very cool, glad you enjoyed this drive through Los Angeles
Great video. Does anyone, or you know how does LA traffic compare to years before, 2010, 2015 etc.? I lived there at times between 1996-2008, and there was more traffic. This is interesting, and good news, cause I am thinking of maybe living there for another some months, and see how it goes. Yes, outside the rush hour time frame but still, it's Saturday. I remember till 10PM 405 was a no go, and even the Sepulveda (till 9PM?) was locked. I had to use one of the canyon roads, it was that bad. I guess the rents being about 2.5X has something to do with the less residents, or is it still a parking lot between 4-8PM, Santa Monica to 101? Thank you.
I really want to come here one day. I did before to be honest in 2009 but I was going to Disneyland. So yes I only drove through Los Angeles just to go to Disneyland. I told my dad today I want to come to Los Angeles he said you should save up money when I do I'm going to come here to Los Angeles. My dad is going to Jamaica tomorrow.
Now I get why I don't like LA. Architecture is not good. Mostly just squared blocks with windows.
Thank you AK , your rides are always very relaxing 😊
Much appreciated
Thank You very much for this great videos! 😊🥰☺👍🍻
from uk, is it just me or does everyone drive rly slow in the states?
Driving??? That sacrilegious for AK.
Đường phố đẹp quá bạn ơi
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤WeHo looks so decent so green and safe as well I guess !!!
I wonder if that Florida license plate on AKs car get any mention from anyone on its travels through LA ?
There are lots of Florida license plates in LA.. During the summer I see plates from many states. It's not unusual.
I've seen plates from other states in CA, and it's pretty common.
I love how you take me back to the neighborhood’s I used to live. I lived in Astoria on 30th ave and crescent where you did a video and I saw all my old spots I used to walk and now you drive right by my street when I used to live in West Hollywood on Santa Monica blvd passed La Cienega across from the Gelsons supermarket. I now live in Toronto and you even did a video near me at the Asian pacific mall in Markham last year. If I would have know I would have come by and say hello! Thank you for these wonderful videos I watch all of them!. You are truly appreciated!
It's funny I used to live at 30th Av in Astoria (where the old hospital was, about 3 blocks from the "N" Train and lived in West Hollywood as well; near La Brea & Sunset. How did you get to Toronto? A viewer wishing you the best....
Hi, Yes I used to live across from the hospital in Astoria from 2004-2009 then moved to West Hollywood. You lived at la brea & sunset? I remember always going to the in n out burger there lol. I’m originally from Toronto and circumstances brought me back here but I don’t like Toronto I really want to leave and move back to SoCal. I miss it everyday. Where a are you living? Or are you still in L.A
@@lg1955 I'm in the Bronx & it's funny we lived in the same places. I used to visit Wendy's more often at La Brea & Sunset. I love their Chili Salad (maybe I've got the name wrong; salad with chili on top). I always think I'm on a diet. After Astoria, I moved over by the Queen's Center Mall, and eventually here to the Bronx. I used to try and get on the Price is Right 2x a month, but never did. For some reason, I didn't like the nightclub scene much. El Polo Loco, ever tried the place in California?
You're welcome! You lived in many great places
@@ActionKid You, too, Buster
19:29 - Brockton & Santa Monica ..I lived there in the 80's 👍
Awesome!
Wilshire to downtown Is the best drive
Hey Action Kid ! What's up? Really into Santa Monica and Santa Monica beach ! Got hooked on it when I binge watched some videos of one Arizona based UA-camr !!! Really gorgeous views by the way!!!
You are just the most calmest driver ever and very informative when you driving 👍 AK ❤
Thank you so much!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nice and relaxing drive ✨
When are you going to be on Martha’s Vineyard through LABOR Day esp visiting OAKS Bluff, Edgartown , Vineyard HAVEN and the rest of the island? You don’t need a car on the island! They have public transportation and tourist buses - cabs!❤🛳️⚓️🚍🚘
Videos by 🌃 are my preferred one.
Been here yashpal
That is right where I lived in the 90's, during OJ and Earthquakes, floods and fires. We nearly lost the white Highrise building at the beginning of your video there in Santa Monica because of the Northridge quake, when the large pillars in the front of the building were so badly damaged by the up and down motion of the earth. The building was featured in the theme of 'Three is Company'. Also, the famous hospital St Johns, use by Eliabeth Taylor was severely cracked. Santa Monica blvd to the pier is the famous end to route 66.
Sorry you had to live through those terrible experiences. Thanks for watching!
We hit every red light; I appreciate the work you did, but would like seeing it in the day so I can see what landscapes (stores & bars are still left). Thank you for taking us on your journeys! I remember going through Beverly Hills and pointing out a beautiful building & someone commenting "that's the Beverly Hills Jail."
You're welcome, thanks so much for watching!
Wonderful job my friend!
I LOVE CA! keep on this way, greetings from Argentina!
Thank you very much

@@richardhales92 Alright 👍
Is this amazing?
Fantastic, what a beautiful city, watching straight from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷 3:45
I really appreciate it
I lived on Maple Dr! It was beautiful to see TY Ken!!
Very cool!
Hwy 1 is known as "The 1". I don't think I've ever heard anyone use PCH other than in movies before...
I beg to differ, I don't know anyone who calls it the "1" it's been called PCH by everyone I know since I've lived here for at least 65 years.
Seems it might be more regional depending on where people are then. I just never hear anyone call it that from my experience, but again, regional difference maybe...@@tecatetime1267
Lived near PCH most of my life. 82 years and counting. It's always been PCH, I've never heard anyone call it The 1.
I've always heard it called as the PCH for me.
city of lights.. city of lights lights lights.. thank you Ken
