    when inspecting, shine a bright flashlight on everything from a few angles. it helps spot things that are "odd" and require more attention. also helps to clean the hell out of everything (easy to spot issues when theyre not hidden by a layer of grease)

    So if anyone has an aluminum frame welded there a few very important things the welder absolutely must do when welding the repair such as heat treating the frame correctly after welding, using the correct filler material and the correct technique!! If these aren’t done properly you’ll make your frame extremely weak and risk seriously hurting yourself and others

      @@PASSIONBUILT I was thinking. Since you part out SV650s, do you sell gas tanks too!?

    • @PASSIONBUILT
      @PASSIONBUILT  2 роки тому +1

      Of course I do. However, I do not have any available at the moment. They tend to sell as quickly as I list them for sale. You can check out my entire inventory at www.motopartssource.com 🙂

      For sure. I absolutely love my shelves. I’ve bought another one since this video was made for tires and it works great for those too.

    sht, i just discovered a small crack in my frame in my 07 gsxr 1000, and i don't know what to do.

      If you don’t feel comfortable having it repaired. Look into buying a whole new frame off eBay with a clean title and do a frame swap. If you’re mechanically inclined. It will take some work but give you peace of mind. Or you can pay a shop to do the swap. Most skilled shops should have it done in a day. But it may be costly.

    I had a 1st gen do that... but in my case it was from a fucker in a CRV making a left turn in front of me across 2 lanes of traffic at an intersection at the last second, mine was on the upper tube though and I never wheelied that bike... mine literally crossed through the weld not just on 1 side of it... guess going from 50-60kph to 0 in a split second will do that
    Blown engine and cracked frame, you're probably right.. guy beat the crap out of that bike and did a lot of wheelies without the ability to feather the landing

      I’m not sure why I never noticed this comment. Lol
      Sorry to hear about your accident. Some people really need to learn how to drive. 🤦🏻
      But yeah. I still think that frame was damaged from the rider slamming the front end doing wheelies too often. Lol
      Hope you’re back on two wheels again! Ride safe 🙂

    Hey bro, I'm from Spain and I need help to find the front wheel for my suzuki sv650s 2003, I've been looking for 2 months. Can you recommend a place that sells pieces in good condition and ships to my country? Thanks.

    • @PASSIONBUILT
      @PASSIONBUILT  3 роки тому +1

      I honestly don’t know of any SV parts specialists in Spain. I have shipped to Spain before but it was just a set of camshafts. Unfortunately shipping a wheel to Spain would cost too much. I apologize. If you ever need small parts. Please check out my website www.motopartssource.com and submit a form on the international shipping tab with the parts you need and I can get you a shipping quote.

    And what about a dent in a steel frame ? I got a 2022 yamaha r7 whit steel pipe frame en one off the pipes have a good dent in it from the handle bar smashed against it. No cracks but idk if its safe or not?

    • @PASSIONBUILT
      @PASSIONBUILT  11 місяців тому +1

      Wow that sounds like the bike took a hard fall. As long as the dent in the frame doesn’t affect how the bike rides. It shouldn’t be a problem. Make sure the frame itself isn’t actually bent or warped from that accident. If it is. I would replace it.

    • @PASSIONBUILT

      It happens man. It could be manufacturer defect or accident caused. Just make sure you check your frame regularly if you ride aggressively or drop your bike. Ride safe! 😎

    Are such cracks obvious to spot or can there be a micro crack that did not go all the way through the width of the frame bar?
    I wonder how the aluminium frame crack. Does it crack like glass or go with small cracks that get bigger over time.

    hey man, you said all those frames are going to the scrapper even though they've got no cracks? Cant you stamp your own VIN or w/e and register them as custom builds and obtain a title? I know thats "kinda" how its done in texas

    • @PASSIONBUILT
      @PASSIONBUILT  3 роки тому +1

      Some of the bikes that I purchase only have a bill of sale or salvage title and I do not sell those frames because they would be for off road use only. The frames that I have with a clean title are for sale.
      As for your question of “stamping your own vin”. That is very illegal. Any time a vin has been scratched off or changed the bike is usually stolen. Please do not attempt to modify any vin number and I highly advise against purchasing a bike with a modified vin number.

    • @drwombat
      @drwombat 3 роки тому +2

      @@PASSIONBUILT sorry I meant stamp "your" own vin after obtaining a dmv generated one through the custom build titling process it's been years since I last looked at the process but if allowed in your state, may be a possibility to help get those frames titled if you desire
