My father bought a holiday apartment in Nerja in 1983 when I was 7, so it’s became my second home. I take my own family now regularly. Top tip is the further you go from the balcon the cheaper it tends to be &’ if you do the tapas trail round the town you’ll get a free tapa when u order a drink. Good walk round video, many thanks 👍🏻

Superb! Haven't been since 1987! Went to PACOMARI in Calle Gloria 4.. *There was a SUPERB lasagne place a bit further down from PacoMari with Lasagne dishes in the window* - it was amazing - wonder if that place is still going!!! atb snack. 👍👍

Stayed here twice once in The Balcon de Europeand once in The Rui Hotel same price both. The Rui better by far fantastic food and good cabaret.We will be returning for sure it really is a lovely place Nerja.
I'd probably rate Nerja the best holiday location that I've experienced in Spain - and I'm a veteran since late 1950s. Not your typical Costas style resort - lots of Spanish guests in our hotel, and an absence of football tops and lager swillers in the street.
looked at booking for Nerja next year but booked Tenerife instead...think a cheeky little weekend break to Nerja might have to be done before! As always, great video...Thanks Kevin

We stayed at the Balcon hotel you started from. Very tradional but classy. Behind or at the side of the hotel there is a path down to beach ( quite steep). At the top is a lovely friendly bar with amazing views. We had some lovely drinks post sun tanning. It's a lovely place Nerja ....enjoy 🙏🙏
@@angie1598 we stayed for a long weekend (Fri-Mon). It was 6 years ago however and out of kids holidays so was about 140 a night for a double luxury room and full board. The food was a good 7/10 , staff smiling and a chilled environment.

Kevin, I didnt see your apartment, but think it may have been near plaza marina, couple great tapas bars near there(near el bosque) La Marisquera & Bar Turry are very local & good value. On other end of town Puntilla, Dolores el Chispa & Rincon del sabor are fantastic. Pulguilla in centre is also very very good. The list goes on & on, you will need to do another video "just" off the beaten track.
Those mentioned above are ALL amazing, plus Valero amazing Tapas, it's opposite the police station. Down to the main Beach, which is called Burrianna Beach. Lots of amazing restaurants on the see front.On the way down to the beach, there is a lovely restaurant called Miralmar, Francisco who owns it, is one of the nicest people you could meet. on the opposite corner is a Cibeles slightly more up market, with a lovely owner, Anna, & a waitress called Maria, who speaks brilliant English. You can cook your own steaks there at the table on a stone!
So very beautiful and how lovely was the violin music? Imagine sitting there in a nice shady spot with a cool drink and listen to that… heaven. One question please Kevin, how do you access the beach, is it via lots of steps, a winding road down or is there a lift?

@@lovelyshirl Hi We were driven a quite a way out of the town and when the two guys found out my partner already owned a timeshare they pleaded with us not to tell the people when we got there . I don’t know the name of the timeshare but we were quickly dropped off at the side of the road when they realised there was no sale. We very stupidly thought we had won a competition for a luxury day out and not a timeshare visit. Very scary but our fault for being so naive .
The bus terminus is in the top of the town. The beach at the Balcon is steep but there’s a beach at the other end. There’s a board walk along the most southerly part of the town. The Caves are an attraction and you can’t access them if you are not too ambulent, unless they have added one since I was there. That’s just my opinion.

Considering the UK miserable exchange rate right now, £100=€111, then I am quite shocked at these 'tourist' meal prices. Let's face it, the menus are mediocre, quality dubious at best and the prices are extortionate, typical for a Spanish resort centre. Talk to locals, get out of town and have a much better experience - and far cheaper.
I was honestly shocked at the prices of Spanish hotels and especially those in Nerja. They’re honestly exorbitant and a blatant rip off.The Iberostar Malaga Playa I think is the name of the Iberostar in Nerja….it came up as £855 for a week simply half-board, and £1000 for all inclusive!!…this is extortionate and anyone who pays this is a fool.Just a few years ago AI at a 4 star would have been around £650-so the prices of a 4 star hotel have soared by 54% …that’s right 54%….well above any increase due to the Ukraine war or lost profits from the Covid lockdown. Perhaps Spanish hoteliers have just become much,much greedier 🙄🙄….this is how silly their prices are….I could fly to the far east with a top carrier like Qatar or Singapore and stay there for a month for the price of an all inclusive in Spain!!…which is just 2 hours away 🤣
855 week half board in nice hotel doesnt sound that bad with todays prices to be honest. Prices vary a lot I have stayed in nerja for 50 quid but last time there prices much higher i agree.

all the beaches i went to in nerja were by steps. some very rocky some not so bad but all quite suitable for walking.

Flat down at balcony bit but can get bit hilly.

We went to Nerja last November. It’s an absolutely lovely place to go on holiday. Nerja caves are another place to go if you ever go there.
