The Tapas Trail is brilliant there. The contributing bars offer a taste of tapas food with every drink. If you missed it you missed the essence of Nerja.
nerja is such a beautiful town, couldent fault it in any way at all when i went for a week 2 years ago. The indian/nepalese place at 5:05 while usually quiet when i was there did some amazing food, menu del dia for 10 euro and was 1 of the best indians i have ever had. Loads of great things closeby to nerja too, get a bus 1 way you will get to a large cave museum, get a bus the other way to get to frigiliana a imposing mountain with a village on top of it (worth 1.50 there and 1.50 back just for the views).
Had our honeymoon there in July last year, love the town at night certainly take more pride in their town than Scottish councils. Plan on going back at some point.
Tenerife at Christmas is wonderful but watch just exactly where you book, prices can shoot through the roof. try and make up your own package deal as travel agents and o.t.a.(online travel agents can be that bit more expensive, good luck.toots granton Edinburgh 👍🥃🍺
Please watch out at night. We have been coming to Nerja for over 20 years and own properties here. I will say over the years we have been generally safe apart from a few hairy situations. The other night my husband was walking home alone from the Balcon and had his Rolex stolen off him on the Los Huertos street. The thief approached him as he was walking, he asked my husband about his shirt, saying it was nice and asked where he purchased it. My husband ignored him and continued to walk on. The thief continued to follow him and eventually wrapped his arms around my husband from behind and tussled him with a bear hug. After my husband shrugged him off, he found it peculiar that the thief ran like hell down into the car park. My husband then realised his watch was gone. We reported it to the Guardia Civil. They were not surprised and informed us that this is a regular occurrence. They also informed us that this was a foreign professional gang that looks for victims and they operate on the Balcon nightly. We were never worried about this sort of stuff before. Nerja is a fantastic place and we still love coming here but please take care and don't wear expensive jewellery.
My family live there and lately seen two older people pushed to the ground and had watches stolen, I thankfully have always been safe in nerja going next week can’t wait
