Mikrotik wAP LTE KIT, 4G, Setup for Home Usage. Config in Description.

- Tutorial how to set up Mikrotik wAP LTE KIT from zero config.
When I'm doing speedtest don't take them seriously, because Mikrotik was standing on my computer table. It should be placed near window or outside (I will remind you that wAP LTE is supposed to be installed outside apartment for better coverage compared to any other LTE routers or modems).
For security purpose disable telnet, ssh, web and only left open winbox to connect to mikrotik from local network only as well. In video end as well you can see how to upgrade Mikrotik software and firmware. For upgrading you need to download right package. For wAP LTE it is mipsbe.
Current latest version ir 6.43.8 - 30.12.2018
Mikrotik upgrade step by step.
1. Download software from mikrotik website.
2. Download right package.
3. Upload it on mikrotik through web or winbox.
4. After upload was succesful do a reboot.
5. After reboot it will be loaded with latest software and now go to System then Routerboard and click "Upgrade". After 5 seconds do a reboot again and Mikrotik will be updated to latest software and version.
Below configuration from my Mikrotik. Just paste it in "terminal" if you want the same configuration.

Hello am using a mikrotik RB 951ui for the LTE settings I don't have the option of network mode where I can select 2g 3g or 4g check boxes my router OS version is version 6.49 please I need a help
Is there anyway I can make use of this device only accessible for Wifi Access Points and lte disable to route date through lan internet router?

@@alessandrogioffredi2957 e che soluzione hai adottato per forzare la scelta dell'operatore, visto che sarebbe importante per me evitare che vada in roaming? ho le antenne 4G sul tetto, quindi potrei acquistare un modem/router 4G+ per interno... hai qualche idea? grazie mille!
mi spiego meglio: abito a 500m in linea d'aria dal confine con la Slovenjia; il mio operatore è WindTre, solo che spesso il segnale dell'operatore sloveno è più forte... a quel punto, sebbene io abbia disabilitato il roaming dati, il mio router (huawei b593-22s) si aggancia all'operatore sloveno, non fa passare i dati perché il roaming dati è bloccato, e io sono sconnesso da Internet... problema simile ma opposto di mia nuora che ha una SIM dell'operatore sloveno (nella valle dove vive lei, sempre in Italia, non becca operatori italiani, tranne in qualche caso proprio WindTre, ma solo sloveni) e vorrei fare in modo che il router rimanga agganciato all'operatore scelto... ho acquistato proprio per lei questo MikroTik ma non riesco a settarlo in tal senso
@@davidfurlan2354 risolvi tutto con i Huawei b525...535....715 ..618...818 già dal software nativo e meglio ancora con i vari hack da browser o smartphone dove puoi selezionare tu le bande e fissarlo su quelle scelte oltre che bloccargli la possibilità di andare in Domingo. Esattamente come una selezione manuale di un telefono

Hello, i did all the settings, as in video, my internet provider Orange romania, has APN: net , i use Mikrotik LHG, when i ping google.com i got the "Ping time out" meassage, i am connected to Band20 and in am registerd in Orange home network. any ideea? can you give me support by anydesk? not for free of course
I think I now prefer RouterOS over Cisco IOS.
Both are great companies and deliver good products. It depends on what kind of services do you want to deliver with them.
Can you change band selection on the router modem?

Hi,
There can be more than just one reason for this. Did you remove complete default configuration? Did you change interface names? As well at fault can be that you're trying copy text by "cntrl + v" because in Mikrotik if you press these buttons together then Mikrotik will complete automatically words in terminal. Try posting by mouse only.

I know that Mikrotik does support Mikrotik own LTE modem - R11e-LTE-US, R11e-LTE , R11e-4G, R11e-LTE6 as I know that there is one Huawei modem, but I can't right now which precise modem.
I bought a unit and on login I can't find the LTE interface. The modem card R11e-LTe is installed in the device. I unscrewed it to be sure. Don't know why the LTE interface is not present but the eth and wlan

Turn on "debug/logging" on your LTE interface and then check the "log" what does MT say. Maybe broken modem?
Yeah broken modem. I returned the unit and it was replaced with another one. Company confirmed it was broken.

You can use other local IPv4 subnets as well :). Those would be - 10.0.0.0/8 ( 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 ), 172.16.0.0/12 ( 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 ). 192.168.0.0/16 (192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255)

ok.. THIS THING is not easy to set up correct. i currently run a crappy TP-LINK. i'm a bit from the cell tower so i dont get "the best" speed's. i currently get around 40MBit. i have topps at 60MBit and bottoms of 2MBit when i'm thrown over to a different tower and i "cant set tower" in the crappy tp-link box. i i have gambled on my first Mikrotek item. SO i tried to set this one up in a hurry and after som fielding i manage to get a link on my computer at 4-5MBIT!!!!!!! WTF is this? and what can i do to get this to stay? and the UI.. TONS of stuff that dont locks to belong to the device at all. and no inherent way to navigate.. this dont lock to be a good by for me. for now i need to go back to the TP-LINK as i dont have a ok internet line when i put the sim in the mikrotik thing. and the F*** SIM slot. who the F*** design that crap? the sim goes in to many parts when you try to remove it :( so i had to stick it together with some taip. then it was almoste impossible to get inn again. this si my first mikrotik thing and i think the last.

You need to be more precise. What do you mean by "unlock the SIM slot"? Do you mean how to know your PIN password and how to remove it for future days? Or how to get working LTE interface? If you mean LTE inferface then you need to have installed LTE modem into your Mikrotik device.
