I was so fortunate to see them perform twice in the US, once in Vegas during their most popular time. This brings back great memories. I wish I had kept it on vhs.
As a former dancer in multiple disciplines, I can vouch that when the crowd amps up, it doesn't matter if your routine was 10 minutes or 4 hours. You may be tired and sore, but it all falls away as your own love for your craft mingles with the audience's ovation and the joy you brought them. Yes, this troop did a piece of the finale 3 extra times. And I guarantee you its a moment all of them carry with reverence and a smile to this day. Because when the show run is over, these are the moments you look back on and think "wow, can't believe I was part of something like that!"
Exactly what I thought. He seems exhausted as all the dancers must be, but when you see the crowd like that, all up with a big ovation, when you finally see where all this hard work have brought you and how people enjoy it so much, you can't just say "thanks, bye!", you have to do it again. Over and over. Live this perfect moment as much as you can.
My mum was at the live performance of this, she brought home the movie of the live show and I wish she took me with her. Will always be jealous she got to see this live🥲
My mother took me to see this around 13 years ago when I was somewhere around 14 years old. At the time, being a teenager, I never wanted to go to the shows my mom wanted to "drag" me to because I thought it was stupid. She would take me to concerts, musicals, plays, etc. Everytime, I would dread going but afterwards, I would come out absolutely amazed by what I just saw. This was one of those shows. After I saw this performance, I was speechless. It is still to this day the most powerful, beautiful, amazing show I have ever seen. Especially this finale part. The music alone was so powerful that it gets everyone out of their seats cheering for just one more dance. Now that I'm older, I am so grateful for my mom taking me to see all these amazing performances. I've been looking every year since then to see if Lord Of The Dance will be back in Chicago but I haven't seen anything. I think they only perform mostly in Europe now. I am so thankful that I got a chance to see this in person.
I was a teenager when this was at its peak and thought too that it must be dumb and heard all of the jokes. Watching it now I would have loved to see it in person, it’s amazing.
@@jkadoodle Oh my goodness, it was incredible! I remember I almost didn't go that day because again, I thought it would be stupid. Turns out I was the one who was stupid but hey, I was young lol. I still thank my mom to this day for taking me. It was just one of those things that you will never forget.
Oh my goodness! I just found out that they are coming back to America for their anniversary tour! I have never purchased tickets so fast in my life. My mom took me to see this years ago and now I'm taking her. I'm not sure where you guys live but if you're in one of the locations where they will be performing, I strongly recommend you go see it. I promise that you will not regret it!
I'm an '02 child, and my parents had this performance on DVD. I was such a huge fan and always tried to dance along. I have kinda forgotten about it for the last maybe 7 years and re-discovered it about two months ago. I really can't tell you how that felt. Nostalgic and a little like home was one part. But I was soo blown away by the dancing and the ambiance that came with it. It's so magical and I'll love it forever
Can everybody stop talking about some Chandler and just admire Micheal Flatley and all the other amazing dancers? I hoped to find some actual fans of this show in this comment section. The perfomance is amazing.

I used to watch this at home when I was young, when I was unhappy & scared & it always helped me get through difficult times. I then went to see it went it went on tour a few years ago & got to meet Bernie, who played the lead girlie (blonde hair) & tell her how much the show has helped me. She was a darling. I would give ANYTHING to see Michael dance in his final tour, I think it would be the most incredible thing in the world. I cried my eyes out watching this & my DVD is worn out! I fucking love this so much!!
My moms last wish was to see him live before she died. they made it happen. It was a memory I’ll never forget. This was incredible xxxx rip mom I hope you’re happy x
My grandad filmed this it was the last time he ever filmed anything before he died a horrific death by being trampled by Irish dancers. I cry to thus everyday Blake.
No one can touch Flatley, he's one of the best dancers ever. And let's not forget his crew, for almost three hours they danced for this crowd and then did even more for them. You can tell from the looks on their faces that they loved every minute of it.
There's plenty of others just as skilled BUT what made him great / one of the best, was his stage presence....that on-stage charisma You really can't learn that
I came here because I love Irish dancing and danced for 10 years and growing up Michael Flatley was one of the reasons I kept irish dancing. He is and will always be the best of his kind and these videos I still am in awe of him and all the dancers, he is simply the best, wow!!!!!! I have morton's neuromas partly because of dancing but knowing I did irish dancing makes me smile through my pain, and I happily watch this over and over again, love it!!!!!!!!!

One of the best dancing shows I've ever seen in my life. I used to sit and watch this show over and over again. just amazing. And they all look so genuinely happy to be dancing in this show, I think because they ARE genuinely happy. How could you ever do a show like this and then go back to normal life? Would be incredibly difficult, I guarantee all of them think about this production from years ago every single day.
Its nice to see how many people envy Michael Flatley for his personal success. All this people should know that he was the person that creates Riverdance 1994 as intermediate show during the Eurovision Song Contest. Without him nobody of this talented tap dancers (worldchampions) would have work since over 20 years. It was Michael Flatley that bring Irish tap in the world, so modern and powerful to fill worldtours, city halls and stadiums. Lord of the Dance is his personal show that he creates after left Riverdance. After heart problems he comes 2011 back on stage because milliones of fans wants to see the only and unique "Lord" of Dance. On this show 1996 in Dublin was Michael Flatley around 40 years old. I would like to see the people that critism him if they can dance like him. Last details, he is still record holder with 35 steps per second ;-).

every time I watch Micheal Flatley my breath literally catches in my throat! an absolutely stunning performer! perhaps one of only 3 performers I've ever wanted to see live!! what perfection!
I grew up watching the DVD my mom bought. I fell in love with the music, the dance, the clothing, with everything. I rmbr wanting to see this live myself! & I still do😩
His energy, drive, and passion are incredible. I wish I had just a droplet of sweat of his energy. He feeds off the audience. Clearly a man doing what he was put on Earth to do. Aaahmazing.
This guy & his dancers are amazing & ingredible!! I discovered him years ago and went to about 1/2 dozen of shows!! There has been others who do great! dancing but no one will be a LEGEND!! like him!! You were Great Michael!!! Hope your enjoying life!!
Lucky enough to see this live at Wembley Arena. The incredible noise and vibration just set the place alive, the encores went on and on, it was an amazing experience that I'll never forget.
I'm pretty sure that Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and Feet of Flame performances were where I first became aware that I love Celtic dancing. This "Michael Flatley - Lord of the dance finale" was an excellent segment of Michael at his top. I was quite fascinated at his ability to do those high, strutting steps. They were amazing steps powered by a strong ego and incredible dancing ability. Thank you, David Roth, for posting this.
+quosmo1, thanks for commenting. Still, take pity on me. I'm from another generation that doesn't fully catch all of the abbreviations yet. What did "'david rAth' btw" mean?
Thank you, *****, for catching that mistake. I hope David Rath will accept my apology. I'm delighted that you took the time to let me know. Also, thank you for explaining what "btw" stands for. I honestly thought it was "back to work," which didn't make sense here. But then I remember for years telling my friends that I was the "dedicated driver" when we went out together. I finally learned the term was really "designated driver." But as a teetotaler, the first term was applicable even if wrong.
+John Aberle Don't forget, as well as a strong ego, above all, Flatley had immense passion for what he was doing. that was clearly evident on his face. He had that shit eating grin, from ear to ear. He was in a zone to where he belonged. Unfortunately not many of us, will never experience the intense joy of doing what we were meant.
videoclipits, good observation - I agree with you about Michael's passion. He definitely had passion and incredible skill or I wouldn't have watched him. He was a marvelous performer. Dorothy Aberle and I saw Lord of the Dance in Las Vegas over ten years ago. The male lead dancing Michael's role just didn't have the same confidence and charisma. So it was a really good show, just not awesome. We still enjoyed it despite the minor let down.
+videoclipits I remember this performance clearly and he just kept going and going at the end and the people just ate it all up. After seeing this, I wanted to take my mom to see Lord Of The Dance when the troupe came around, but then learned that Michael Flatley was no longer with the troupe. So sadly I never saw them live. BUT I did have a surprise for my mom when I got married as I hired an Irish Dance troupe for my wedding :). No it wasn't a professional troupe as I hired them from a local dance studio, but they did an excellent job and I got to see my live Riverdance show.

Shut up
You can shut up and all.
My mum was at the live performance of this, she brought home the movie of the live show and I wish she took me with her. Will always be jealous she got to see this live🥲
There's always one 😀😃 Nobody needs or asked for you to vouch for anyone. Get back into your box 📦

I am so thankful that I got a chance to see this in person.
wow you were one lucky child!!!
20+ years later and this still gives me goosebumps. I also still have this on vhs somewhere.
VHS, can you please ,let me know what year and where was that event
Thanks

"Lord Of The Dance : The Untold Story"
I used to watch this at home when I was young, when I was unhappy & scared & it always helped me get through difficult times. I then went to see it went it went on tour a few years ago & got to meet Bernie, who played the lead girlie (blonde hair) & tell her how much the show has helped me. She was a darling. I would give ANYTHING to see Michael dance in his final tour, I think it would be the most incredible thing in the world. I cried my eyes out watching this & my DVD is worn out! I fucking love this so much!!
It's so fucking mesmerizing
omg same!! I love riverdancing so much when I get mad or what not I get on you tube and watch some clips of the performance
My moms last wish was to see him live before she died. they made it happen. It was a memory I’ll never forget. This was incredible xxxx rip mom I hope you’re happy x
I will never tire of watching this
I wish the camera angle didn't change every 0.001 seconds

May be that's what scared the bejesus out of chandler
The editing is unbearable
My grandad filmed this it was the last time he ever filmed anything before he died a horrific death by being trampled by Irish dancers. I cry to thus everyday Blake.
No one can touch Flatley, he's one of the best dancers ever. And let's not forget his crew, for almost three hours they danced for this crowd and then did even more for them. You can tell from the looks on their faces that they loved every minute of it.
m.ua-cam.com/video/c4BTX3aYhWk/v-deo.html
I totally agree with you, he was the best
There's plenty of others just as skilled BUT what made him great / one of the best, was his stage presence....that on-stage charisma
You really can't learn that
I would beat him in a dance battle
I've seen this more times than I can count, and I STILL get goosebumps!
Corona virus bringing me to the ends of UA-cam. Still this is dope af

Did you reach the end yet
One of the best dancing shows I've ever seen in my life. I used to sit and watch this show over and over again. just amazing. And they all look so genuinely happy to be dancing in this show, I think because they ARE genuinely happy. How could you ever do a show like this and then go back to normal life? Would be incredibly difficult, I guarantee all of them think about this production from years ago every single day.
Watch river dance
Fabulous costumes. Ethereal precision. Amazing Dancers.
We Love You , Michael.❤️
Michael Flatley had my total admiration . Thank you for this video !!! 😲 😲 😲
the audience appreciation is just absolutely amazing.
He’s almost 40 years old in this! Insanely talented! ♥️
It took its toll though, it just about ruined his legs! 😢. Amazing dancer!

I remember this, my grandad always gave me the videos so I could watch them
this was my entire childhood. I'm legit crying omg
sofia torres I would be too if this was my entire childhood. Sad.
I totally get you. During my childhood I watched it literally around 100 times. And now Im crying too :DDD
I saw one of his first shows in Dublin in 98/99 if I'm right...He is the king of Irish dance such an experience..
That is not true because I AM the king of Irish dance the leprechauns told me so
Absolutely love this show and Michael is one of the best dancers I've ever seen, my only regret is that I never got to see it live
I saw this show life when i was seven months pregnant and my baby daughter jumped and danced in my belly
Last details, he is still record holder with 35 steps per second ;-).

every time I watch Micheal Flatley my breath literally catches in my throat! an absolutely stunning performer! perhaps one of only 3 performers I've ever wanted to see live!! what perfection!
the perfect thing is that he and his team they enjoy it as much as the audience, so talented so organized, so synchronized just perfection....period
Seen two times and next year again in Hamburg
Can you only imagine the level of fitness required to dance like that! Absolutely amazing!
Its not hard I can do it
Thank you chandler for bringing me here.
My great grandma loved Riverdance, it was always on at her house I was 9yrs old in 96..really glad this on youtube
I was 10. I want to go back :(
I grew up watching the DVD my mom bought.

I'm glad that to this day, this masterpiece is still being remembered and loved

Lord of the dance got some mad fuckin swag. I mean...look at him, happiest man on the fuckin planet.
Two Michaels in the world whose dance skills will never be replaced - Michael Jackson my first love and Michael Flatley my second love🥰
This scared the beejus out of chandler
RIP Matthew, see you on the other side ❤
Chandler: His legs flail about as if independent from his body! I totally came here to see what it was about and it's true Chandler
ALI ESSA You should of seen him live in his prime. Absolute phenomenal. He could just keep going and going and going. Guy is a genius.
fuck you

How anyone can give this a dislike is beyond me. I loved this when it came out and I still love it as much. Wish I could dance like that, but maybe that's because of my Irish blood, as my grandmother was Irish. Nan would have loved this. Bloody fantastic and never ceases to mesmerise me!
Its chandler who hates it
I think the dislike is for the low quality of the video. Fuzzy and not doing justice to the show.
Had the chance to see it with michael flatley. There is no one who can replace him and his energy.
Fabulous performance
An absolute masterclass in dancing perfectly performed by the master himself..ladies and gentleman I give you The one and only Michael Flatley
I've seen that at Radio City. So many years later I can't get enough it. Michael Flatley's energy and skills are unbelievable.
Brilliance!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Jesus christ what a rush they've must've felt from that audience
Riverdance is entertaining and mostly traditional. LotD has so much energy and is showcasing what is possible in Irish dance and takes it to a whole new level.
