4 people have helped hundreds of thousands of lives , and I'm deeply greatful . some people can't stand up for themselves and maybe you're dealing with the same problem , get help or provide it . remember we love you , you are so incredibly unique and very much worth a life , together we can end bullying , but more importantly remember "it gets better" 💜
Amygdala this was incredibly sweet. This video help me as well. It's so awesome to see the impact that this video has made on the masses. I love you all and thank you for watching. 💚✊🏽
I am very grateful that my brother That my brother showed you to me, because your song "Make it stop" saved me from committing suicide. Whenever I hear the song, I think back to "how it saved me from it in my darkest hour". I am very grateful for that. I am looking forward to seeing you live in Leipzig on November 12, 2022 after a long time again (Berlin 2017 last time).
Even though I wasn't bullied I do related to this song on another level. Suffering from depression you become your own worst enemy in a way that you sort of bully yourself. I hadn't heard this song during my roughest time but listening to it now and watching Tim and the rest of the band members talk about the video it makes me realize how far I have come and how much I don't want to get that bad. Rise Against, I love you guys and your song, especially songs such as this. Thank you.
Im not even in high school. A few months away but I almost killed myself 4 times last year alone. I am different and I want to do something with my life. Rise Against got me through so much even when my family members thought of it. Thanks guys, you really did make me realize life is worth living. Plus it's an amazing song.

This song and band has changed my life for the better. I stand up for what is right in this world. I am a musician and i want to make it big and help people just like rise against has helped me.
This is one of my favorite Rise Against songs, and I really appreciate that they made it. For me, my rough period wasn't high school, but elementary school. Like first through fourth grade, so I believe that getting this idea of the pain out to people through music is invaluable. Thank you, Rise Against, for ally our thoughtful kindness and music.
This song speaks to me so much. At my school here in Australia, my friends, and even people who I barely talk to but know I'm Bisexual are really supportive and proud of me for coming out. I properly came out two-three years ago. Whenever I see or hear others in the LGBTIQ community being bullied, it effects me so much to the point where I have to seclude myself from everyone else and cry. I listen to it whenever I'm sad to help let the tears flow...thanks so much guys...for such a perfect song.
This has been a favourite song of mine for years. In fact, I am straight, I am 55 and haven't been bullied since I was ten or something. But the meaning of this song is so important. Love is the biggest thing on earth, regardless if you're loving girls or boys. No one has to feel guilty for loving somebody, and no one has the right to judge about it. Stay strong -things get better. By the way: Kudos for the actors, you guys are wonderful people and I am absolutely sure this video will save someone's live -thank you for beeing human and emphatic!
This come out when I was in the 11th grade this song save my life after my older brother was murder and was constantly bullied and the song thank u so much iam 28 now thank u for a future
'Many of us have felt alone, felt different. Only in time did we realize that the things that made us different were the things that made us awesome, the things that made us who we are today.' This is so true it almost hurts me. High school also wasn't the greatest time for me. But when I graduated, I realized that the world outside of that environment is so different. People do care. People do like it when you have passion for something, they don't just laugh at you for it.
I was almost gone, but I was saved. When I woke up and saw everyones faces I realised how precious life really is... That was 2 years ago. It gets better
This is why I respect them so much. They actually have causes they stand for and they really believe in those causes from homophobia to protecting wildlife. And even if you don't believe in those causes yourself you really can't not respect people who passionately believe in what they preach.
This is why Rise Against is awesome; they stand up for their beliefs, other peoples beliefs and rights. ps. Tim is my idol, if I hadn't heard of Rise Against, I would still hate the fact that my eyes are miss-matched
That was the first Rise Against song I ever heard (and the first slightly more punk song in general) It means so fuckin much to me now. I wasn't bullied because of my sexuality (mostly cause I wasn't out at that point) but because of other reasons. When I changed schools (not cause of bullying, again other reasons) I wasn't really bullied, but I still felt like an absolute outcast. Rise Against along with so many other bands (Anti-Flag, Against Me! or the Homeless Gospel Choir, for example) and the community that I discovered through them helped me to look at myself in a different light and to celebrate my individuality and the fact that I most likely won't fit into the regular society at most parts of my life.
I was bullied for being in special education, though not as much for being bisexual since I've only officially come out to a few people. I'm nervous about telling my dad or uncle about it since I don't know if they'd accept me.
I'm a September chid my bday us September 10th....I'm 32 now the woman in the picture is my late mum....I lost her on September 3rd last year.....ty Rise Against 4 helping soooo many of us.....I hope you guys tour fort wayne Indiana again and I get to sit and talk to you and ty 4 saving my life with this song...
I love this so much. This song helped me getting through such a hard time and I‘m so thankful for that. Last year I met the Rise Against gents and I got to thank Tim for writing that song. That moment was the best. So much love for Rise Against. ❤️
Dear Tim, Joe, Brandon and Zach Your song made me stronger I told my parents I want to be happy in my life, with my girlfriend I'm ready to tell the whole world now You made it stop for me. You'll have made it stop for so many people... Thank you so much...
How can anyone be so cold as to dislike this video? I want to see the dislikers have a better message than the things that Rise Against endorse and support especially this to give bullied children hope in hopeless times. How dare anyone give this video a bad rating... That's awful. It truly is. Why don't you try being someone else who is bullied by their peers and feels like they're worthless with nothing to live for. I'm sorry, but that offends me that people can be so ignorant and heartless.
Rise Against, you never fail to make me cry. I remember when I was considering suicide, and this video makes me happy. This is helping to get a very important message out, and I'm so thankful for it. I lost my best friend (and at one point a lover) to suicide for reasons similar. I truly am thankful.
This song means so much to me. I was bullied all the time through high school and elementary school, not for being gay but for being different. And it's just now, after finishing school, that I was able to see that I am actually lesbian. Being bullied just made me be so narrow-minded and wanting to fit in that I just never got the idea of being into girls, I just always thought I was.. I don't know. Different, without doubt. But in a bad way. And a freak, most certainly, as I always got bullied, no matter whether I just met new people in a new place or whether I was with people that had known me for ages. But still, even after moving away and starting to go to college and meeting people that are nice, I can just accept the fact that I'm lesbian. Even though it makes sense and explains a lot and even though I know that it shouldn't be an issue and that it's okay to be different and love whoever you fall in love with, I can still not let go of the idea that I need to fit in. Those people in school got that idea rooted so deep inside of me that I just can't accept myself. I've been cutting while in school, then been clean for a year, but right now I'm struggling to stay clean. And I've been experiencing suicidal thoughts for a few months.. I do not plan to kill myself, but does it really get better? It's hard for me to believe that right now.
i have always been afraid to wear certain clothes do my hair a certain way cause i thought i would get picked on but cause of this song i think i should just be who i am and dgaf on what people say, ty rise against
can someone tell me how something like this, doesn't make headlines? Isn't all over the news? these kids save lives on the DAILY, but Beyoncé saves one kids life, its EVERYWHERE. these people do it everyday, everyday. it makes me lose faith in humanity
+lambodude1231 I made a tumblr post saying the EXACT same thing about Beyoncé. she saves one life and its like world wide, but guys like this, they do this everyday. they saved MY life, multiple times, yet still, they get nothing. its ridiculous
I partly agree with what you're saying, but both Beyoncé and Rise Against are extremely great artists and we shouldn't pit them against each other. Yea, you say Beyoncé saved 'one life' (which is not true) at least she's doing something to help people! Beyoncé is great at what she does (if you watched her Formation, Flawless and Pretty Hurts video) and so are Rise Against. Why don't you target people that aren't using their fame for good?
+lambodude1231 dude, its just a matter of a fucked up business. one thing you should know about the news, as long as their controlled by government, corporations or business, they will only care about making money, and apparently showing only bad things or famous people on the news, makes alot of money unfortunately. i know it sucks, alot, but don't ever lose your faith in humanity, regardless of weather or not the stupid ass broken media, you know for a fact that their are people like rise against, doing unbelievable good in the world, and that word is getting out of what they do, with or without the stupid media. so don't lose hope or faith, don't ever lose hope or faith.
For all the love that I hold for the song and all the love and respect that I hold for Rise Against , I had never been interested in watching the behind the scenes because, seriously, what was it going to do for me? I just finished watching it. I'm literally crying.
I just want you guys to know that whenever I'm feeling down or have had a hard day, I walk home for school with both headphones in and sing this song as loud as I can. I think if it wasn't for this song I would be a lot more depressed then I could handle. You guys are truly an inspiration to me and I would just love to say thank you for everything you've done. I'll be there to see you guys next time you come to aussie, just like last time and I will again stand in the freezing cold to meet you.
this is why i like Rise Against, it's because they don't hold anything back, they let it all out and shove the things most people don't care about right into their faces and make those people see the true hard facts of life and this is why i find Rise Against's songs the most brilliant and the most meaningful
I wish this video was out when I was in grade 7. It changes my entire view on highschool. I was bullied a lot throughout my entire school life. But I have also picked on others to make myself feel better because of what I'd go through. The video makes me reflect on myself, and how I've felt, and probably how I've made other people feel. School and bullying is really tough, but we can all make it through. The song and music video make me cry. Happy tears though. I'm happy I made it through.
The first time I heard this song and saw the video, I felt better of getting picked on. Rise Against and this song is one of the best songs I've ever heard.
It gets better... so very very true. It is so very hard to see when your confused and deeply in pain. People reaching out can make such a huge impact in turning things around... thank you so much for this.
Good to see there are still songs with some meaning. Sick of hearing every song on the radio about a fucking break up. There are other issues in the world that need to be seen. The power of music can change so much. Rise Against are a living example. They see the problems in the world and try to help. And I'm sure their music has supported many people and given hope to the hopeless. Truly inspirational people. I hope they live forever.
If you witness something that doesn't feel right, do something. It doesn't need to be physical violence, because words hurt as much if not more. It doesn't even need to be a big event for it to be the last straw. And the person bullied aren't perfect, but no mistake or action makes it ok to bully someone.
Although this song is about bulling homosexual kids, it can apply to other bullied victim as well. Being the only Asian American in my high school class, I got my fair share of racially-motivated harassment. Although the injuries are still within me, this song really help with the healing process.
I dont even understand why this would have any dislikes. Shows how much some people care... Seriously grow up, everyone deserves to be happy no matter what.
This is one of the reasons I love Rise Against.... besides the music ... it's such a powerful message... Everyone deserves to be accepted and loved for who they are... we all are human and deserve equality... just because someone is different, isn't a reason to hate... this needs to stop...
I am a white straight atheist guy, and I couldn't agree more, I stand up for people being bullied, I'm not popular, I'm one of the ones being bullied cuz I'm different still. And this song means alot even though I'm straight, I dont like bullying and I take it very seriously. Just cuz I'm atheist doesn't make me a jerk
omg this is the most beautiful message and explanasion any band have ever made. Rise against do so much for this world, and honestly i dont think the world deserve it. Rise Against should be count as heroic band for humanity!
I became home schooled about two years back. I just went back today to my middle school to go see my old teachers. While walking down the halls, I noticed that every foot, there was a poster against bullying, or equality. They were always there, and I remember being beaten to a pulp in front of those posters, that school was the worst. Its so nice to be with new, kind friends from my home school co-op. I'm never putting my kids through public school, that place is just too much.
I'm almost 13 and I like this song, because everyone even when I'm shopping someone else who I don't know laughs at me and I hear it often..4 years I was suffering from pain..my own classmates liked to beat me for fun when they were bored...I moved to different school..first year everyone laughed at me as usually but thankfully no one wasn't beating me..everyday when I walk in classroom I feel lonely because no one wants to be friends with me...If I could change that...
The problem is people say lots in this day and age but don't think it's bullying.. They need to learn to stop saying nasty things about others and stop trying to be cool because I've been bullied and it's not cool at all. They should bow their heads in the shame they've brought on their family.
thank you sooo much rise against for putting our friend harrisons name in there it really means alot to us he is soo missed and we all love him sooo much we miss his smile and hugs and telling him hes an amazing friend :( Sept 25 :'( we lost u harrison we miss you sooo much
I cry evertime i see the music video to make it stop its so powerful and personal it does get better your worth it and your beautiful and i love you whoever you are you deserve love.
I've never had any real problems with bullies, mostly people just leave me alone. Even my high school in general has very few bullying incidences and I've never really given it a second thought. But seeing things like this make me realize how fortunate I am to be going to such a peaceful school. I've actually never seen anyone really getting bullied at school. Who knows, maybe it happens when I'm just not looking, but as far as I know, we don't have any real bullies here.
They need to have a "LOVE" button instead of a like button. God this is so powerful and touching. I felt EXACTLY like those kids when I was younger and thought about hurting myself. But it DOES get better. High school is just something that you have to get through to get onto the real part of your life. Outside of HS you NEVER had to talk to someone that you don't want to again. And people grow up...it still hurts that they hurt you, but people do change. That's what kids need to take with them.
i swear mates, we got to give rise against thumbs up for songs like make it stop, ready to fall, hero of war and all the other songs for raising awareness in the flaws of our modern society.
for those that experience bullying and think there is no hope, trust me it gets better, I should know, I thought of suicide, but I'm still here, its so cliché but it literally does get better, trust me :)
Both me and my girlfriend were bullied all the way through middle school and through high school for being very different. We're strange people, but we don't care; we made it through being outcasts, and we embraces ourselves. When we found each other, this is when we each realized that no matter what happens in life, there is that ray of sunshine that exists for everyone. It Gets Better.
The sooner we accept people for who they are and recognize their individual talents, the better this world will be Never have agreed to something more than this
I went to a SMALL private school, even though i was/am straight, but i had the same feeling about the bulling that happened to me. I was there for 3 years...it was hell. Now EVERY day i listen to this song because it reminds me "Everyone has been there before, and that when you leave high school you'll realize that it never mattered" (mixed quotes there). And im still in High School so i think some days this is ONLY song that helps my feelings.
Thank you to all those who are brave enough to share your feelings with the world and dont give a damn about what all of the other people say. you are some of the strongest people in the world and dont ever let anyone take that from you. Rise Against foREVer
*continued* Hearing him say "kids who are thinking of harming themselves don't cause YOU DO have a FUTURE. It does get better." Just touched me. Was like wow. Rise Against really is amazing and really is changing lives. Keep it up!!!! And stay strong everyone!!!!
That girl is beautiful!! but no matter who you are, what type of music you listen to, what you believe in, you should respect and except every single person for who they are. this song is very inspiring. nobody should be bullied ever!
So much respect right now. I swear, for all talk you hear on the modern rap scene about being real, it has got to be the "realest" band I've ever seen. Am I surprised? No.
I'm straight, and I don't care about if people are Gay, lesbian, or bisexual. They're still humans and they're still ppl who have a right to live. I actually like Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual ppl! They're awesome and I don't think anyone has the right to think other ppl's lives are unimportant. So all of you homophobes out there, think about what you may be doing to someone's life when you make fun of them.
Who the hell has the mentality to dislike things like this. I mean seriously, this is just sending a message to teens who need the help, and there are still some sick people out there who are just against it all. Rise Against have been sending messages since day one and people who want better disprove of what they have to say. Ridiculous. To all those people out there who do need it, like said by the whole crew. It will get better. Just keep going.
Deepest Respect for Rise Against. I love this band, they just dont only make outstanding music, it is much. much more than that. It is music which touchs your heart and really makes you think about these topics. Rise Against wants to really change the world,a nd thats why they are so great.

Why does this video has downvotes? It is really not understandable...
Those are the Internet assholes who hate EVERYTHING.
I mean the down voters just to be clear

Just when I think Rise Against can't get any more inspirational, BOOM.
I love this so much. This song helped me getting through such a hard time and I‘m so thankful for that. Last year I met the Rise Against gents and I got to thank Tim for writing that song. That moment was the best. So much love for Rise Against. ❤️
Dear Tim, Joe, Brandon and Zach
Your song made me stronger
I told my parents I want to be happy in my life, with my girlfriend
I'm ready to tell the whole world now
You made it stop for me.
You'll have made it stop for so many people...
Thank you so much...
Chicago's greatest Punk Rock band!!
Descendants sweatshirt, amazing message, and saving lives. Love this band!
WHO THE HELL DISLIKED THIS. HOW HEARTLESS CAN YOU BE.
"The sooner we learn to accept people for who they are, the better this world's going to be"
this is soooooo true
I don't know where i would be without this band, I don't even know who i'd would be without them. Their songs relate to me so much.
I have stood on the stool at once.... Rise Against is one of the few things that kept me from falling.
Thank you...
This song and its video saved my life. Honestly, thank you so much, Rise Against. Thank you 🖤
Rise Against, you never fail to make me cry.
I hope you’re still here
i have always been afraid to wear certain clothes do my hair a certain way cause i thought i would get picked on but cause of this song i think i should just be who i am and dgaf on what people say, ty rise against
can someone tell me how something like this, doesn't make headlines?
+izzYzzi O i agree ;) i was gonna say something but i finished reading what u said and yes i totally agree on that last part
I'll be there to see you guys next time you come to aussie, just like last time and I will again stand in the freezing cold to meet you.
thank you so much tim, you have no idea how much this song means te me thank you so much.
this is why i like Rise Against, it's because they don't hold anything back, they let it all out and shove the things most people don't care about right into their faces and make those people see the true hard facts of life and this is why i find Rise Against's songs the most brilliant and the most meaningful
Music video made me cry. I hope this airs mainstream so all the bullies can hear this! Thank you Rise against for teaching us a valuable lesson!
I love Rise Against. Not just for that awesome music they make, but also for what they believe in.
These guys make so much sense and the heart that they show is just incredible.
i wish more people would stop bulling kids
I just wanna say thank you Rise against.
God bless Rise Against for making music w/ meaning, purpose and hope.
Rise Against, you guys are defintely one of the few bands who make me feel good about myself emotionally
Easily a top 5 fav from Rise Against
The problem is people say lots in this day and age but don't think it's bullying.. They need to learn to stop saying nasty things about others and stop trying to be cool because I've been bullied and it's not cool at all. They should bow their heads in the shame they've brought on their family.
I'm so happy when people make songs like this!!!
LOVE this song and it's message
thank you sooo much rise against for putting our friend harrisons name in there it really means alot to us he is soo missed and we all love him sooo much we miss his smile and hugs and telling him hes an amazing friend :( Sept 25 :'( we lost u harrison we miss you sooo much
I cry evertime i see the music video to make it stop its so powerful and personal it does get better your worth it and your beautiful and i love you whoever you are you deserve love.
3:17- 3:32 are the best parts of the video!! Thank you Tim for giving that strength!!
OMG Rise against
They need to have a "LOVE" button instead of a like button.
This is so important. I love Rise Against. Video made me cry.
I love Rise Against. They are amazing. Incredible messages through their songs.
This song gives me chills every time I hear it.
Brrr.
for those that experience bullying and think there is no hope, trust me it gets better, I should know, I thought of suicide, but I'm still here, its so cliché but it literally does get better, trust me :)
and my life has gotten better!
Rise Against just keeps giving me more reasons to love them every day :)
That's why I love Rise Against.
The sooner we accept people for who they are and recognize their individual talents, the better this world will be
Never have agreed to something more than this
I went to a SMALL private school, even though i was/am straight, but i had the same feeling about the bulling that happened to me. I was there for 3 years...it was hell. Now EVERY day i listen to this song because it reminds me "Everyone has been there before, and that when you leave high school you'll realize that it never mattered" (mixed quotes there). And im still in High School so i think some days this is ONLY song that helps my feelings.
The world is a dangerous place to live not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.
Thank you to all those who are brave enough to share your feelings with the world and dont give a damn about what all of the other people say.
you are some of the strongest people in the world and dont ever let anyone take that from you.
Rise Against foREVer
Rise against, you have influenced me to change who i am, and be a better person
*continued*
Hearing him say "kids who are thinking of harming themselves don't cause YOU DO have a FUTURE. It does get better." Just touched me. Was like wow. Rise Against really is amazing and really is changing lives. Keep it up!!!!
And stay strong everyone!!!!
That girl is beautiful!! but no matter who you are, what type of music you listen to, what you believe in, you should respect and except every single person for who they are. this song is very inspiring. nobody should be bullied ever!
thank you rise against for helping the bullied people this inspired me to stand up and not be a spectator
Remember, when you finally ignore the immature acts of bullies, you are not giving up. You're moving on.
this is why i love rise against
So much respect right now.
Rise Against are the best band i've ever listened too.
so powerful, thanks to all
i didn't know this is what the song symbolized, and now i respect rise against so much more
this is why i love rise against
So much love for Rise Against
Rolling Meadows High School.... 💜💛
Rise Against you guys are amazing!
