#OasisKnebworth1996 #SomeMightSay #Oasis
This is the best live version I've ever heard of "Some Might Say." This is also an amazing band, completely in sync, on the top of their game and on top of the world.
What a lovely comment.
Have you seen the Main road performance on the “There and Then” DVD?
@@JackWhitehead1981 came her to say this. STILL! this is top and cannot wait to see full show!!!
Maine Road from 'There and Then' is even better, yeah
I agree with the guys in sub-comments, Maine Road is better especially the second night (Umbro tracky)
They were the best band in the fkn world mate🎸made fer it in 2023.. Oasis reform ⚡️
Still amazes me how young they were and how early it was in their career to be playing to such big audiences. Liam was 23 here and Noel only 29 and they had released enough classic tunes in the previous 2.5 years to fill a greatest hits album. I'm glad that Bonehead is getting more acclaim these days from fans for his part of that wall-of-sound the classic Oasis were renowned for, this for me was the best lineup for sure.
Noel was 29
@@stefgent88 good point my arithmetic a bit off 😭
@@BloodSweatAndMeth he/she edited the comment
Playing in front of large audience and becoming a successful musician in the 20's are two accomplishments. I would suggest it's fairly normal for musicians to break through and peak in their 20s, perhaps not so normal to play live to a large crowd - but that's the point of the documentary - it was a big popular gig. The age thing is irrelevant.
@@booishoois309 maybe you have a point in terms of musicians typically peaking in their 20s... I guess point I was also trying to make was that in less than 2.5 years from their first single coming out they were able to play a set at Knebworth that looked like a greatest hits set, which is pretty remarkable as most bands don't peak so early in their careers, eg Beatles peaked 4-5 years after their debut, U2 7-11 years after, Springsteen 5-11 years after. Pulp were around for 11 years before they made a great album! Then they released 2 of the best albums of the 90s inside 2 years.
It always puzzles me with Oasis why Noel hit such a rich vein of songwriting form for 3 years from late 92 until late 95 and then in next 25 years wrote only a handful of tracks that could compare with that stuff, anyway I'm rambling 😂
Few young lads from Manchester, rocking the world with their greatness. Stuff dreams are made of.
To think he was only 23, 24 the month later is madness. A voice like that at its peak at only 23. Nothing or no one could come close to him. He knew it, we knew it every other frontman knew it. 25 years from now. There will be someone commenting on the same video saying the same thing like it was live the night before. Todays music Just doesn’t do the same. To think a live gig was performed for the last time without a phone flashing and they probably never knew it would be the last.
Chris Cornell had a voice
Hard to believe he was so young I was at his concert last year in Dublin and I didn’t see anyone with their phones out
Not a single bloody mobile phone in sight. Just the fans and the band at one together. Brilliant !
I don't get this whole 'not a phone in sight' rubbish. People take photos/videos with their phones because they want to be able to look back at these things. It's memories, they want to be able to remember it, so it's not a bad thing to record certain bits or get photos.
@@samhobbs6517Because it ruins the experience for onesself, and the artist. Plus, imagine not being 6 feet tall and having a wave of dickheads holding up their phone, not to document, but just to say "hey look everyone! im here having fun!" its not about being there, its about making sure everyone knows youre there.
Facts. Aint nobody watching your 480p video with blown out audio but you. Live in the moment
Thiss
Good thing it’s 1996 before that was a mass thing
I wish I could return to the 90's. My god was life so, so much better back then.
Amen to that
And an American 'Amen' to add to the chorus, my #MadFerIt friends;)
No it wasn't.
It ain't so much worse now. We're people all around the world talking to fellow Oasis fans in the comments after watching a high definition video of this performance on high tech computers and phones. Not so bad.
I don't know you obviously but you wouldn't be happy i bet. Take the feeling you got then and bring it here. Help everyone out.
Me and a mate managed to get tickets for the Sunday gig, went down on the National Express, gig was amazing, only problem was getting home.
Getting 125,000 off site was an obvious logistical nightmare, so by the time we got to the bus station it had already left.
Stranded in Stevenage, we slept at the bus station.
The following morning, skint and wandering the street trying to think how to get home, we came across a £10 note lying on the pavement!!!
Into a shop we go, ten Benson and a bic pen please.
We altered the dates on the bus ticket, managed to get on the bus back to home, sat separately, as not to arise suspicion of us being stowaways!
No bother for the whole journey, made it back in one piece still carrying the two massive knebworth posters I bought on the day!
Those were the days!
thanks for the story man, sounds very relatable trying to get outta there!
Awesome story 😄🙏
I lived in knebworth, so was very smug with my short stroll home. However, I fell into a water filled ditch in the dark country lanes. Karma I suppose 😏
I saw them in Upper Darby, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Mt brother git photos with Liam abs a cd signed , best night ever
What’s fucking story. Love tales like that made my day
Crowd look so beautifully innocent pre-celeb lifestyle, phones etc. This was probably the=last time I was a bit star struck. Take me back.
Great point!!
This is the Oasis sound it’s happy soon as I hear that riff, it pulls me in. :)
I can't not cry when I watch Oasis live. I've never seen them live so it's not nostalgia.. There's just something seriously magical about them that I can't explain.
It is the magic between the two brothers - saw them twice between 95 and 97 - just special
@@metalman7806 Well said.. Reading the supersonic documentary book and.. wow. And lucky you to get to see them!
I was at this show it was amazing. My fave tours were the 94-95 ones we had so much fun. I saw them right thru to the end it was painful to watch it falling apart
@@DamonAlicia So lucky!! We can always hope that they'll reform 🤞
@@DamonAliciaque suerteee 😭
As a young prog rock and black metal kid had heard only Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger, which didn't really impress me at first. Then in my early 20s I heard the wall of sound guitars of Some Might Say and ever since that Oasis has been my all time favorite band. Liam, Noel and Bonehead are all equally responsible for the true Oasis sound and not just any one of them.
See you in Knebworth 2022 guys
I'm answering to my own post, but DAMN just listen to that Bonehead's heavily distorted guitar kick in at 0:30
I’m 19 in Australia. My mum first played oasis to me when I was 5-6 years old. I grew up on them, I absolutely loveeee them so much and I’m so keen to see them in 2025. This song is my top favourites. Every song is great, know them all backwards but this one hits hard every time. I cried for 4 hours straight when I got tickets!
oh and had a massive fat crush on Liam growing up, literally still do AHHAAH.
@@pixierosie-e4kMy last love during the '90's thought he was beautiful and I gave that my full support because for me personally, he was the voice who spoke for me having come from a broken family.
@@stephenhowes8937 he’s real he don’t sugar coat nothing and that’s why I liked him so much. He’s not fake. But yeh that’s good to hear though.
Hey, electric youth woman, I just turned 21 when this album came out and I was living with an older woman I was in love with for years and vice versa. I remember getting that feeling from hearing ACDC or Supertramp records because my father and older brother liked those groups respectively. (And are still around!)
I don't know what it is about those chicks who liked Oasis when I was a young adult, but every one of them was really way cool.
I'm a 51-year-old dude in Arizona who grew up in the DC area. I was just listening to another great Australian band called Men at Work. Was listening to the two singles from the 1983 "Cargo" LP called "Overkill" and "It's a Mistake."

This was and will always be one of the best concerts I've ever attended. The atmosphere the people and the music were electric.
Absolutely! Been to many gigs and concerts since, nothing has ever come close.
I remember right at end of this show when they were finishing up with Champagne Supernova it started to rain, summer evening rain bout 11pm. After a long hot day waiting in a field since 12pm with no food, little drink and slightly sunburnt, and been travelling since 5am, the rain was almost like a biblical sign that it was part of the show, magical. Not to be confused with the Saturday night MTV recording of Champagne Supernova. Sunday night was great with a better support bill than Saturday.
All you need is love playing as everyone left
I don’t remember the rain on Sunday. I remember CS finishing, then a load of feedback for a few mins, then wandered to the cars and sat there for over an hour! There were loads of us playing tunes with our car horns waiting for the queue to ease to get out 😆
Saturday was sunburn buddy..., bogs 1/2 a mile from the front where I was.. never held a p for so long!! 😀
Is the Sunday concert you talkin about, the one which they taken Champagne Supernova from?
I mean, the one uploaded on this channel few weeks ago.
The Saturday lineup was loads better - The Prodigy, Manics, Chemical Brothers and Ocean Colour Scene.
I love how happy and excited is Noel while he’s playing this tune. I think he really loved what he was doing there.
It’s actually rare to see him like this.
By the way, this video made my day !!!
He was happy all the band was playing well and Liam had a great voice
I have legit never seen him this happy.
@@vincenzostr4488 I get your point but I think he was really enjoying the moment.
I’ve seen a lot of Oasis performances and this is one of those when you look at Noel and say:
F***, he’s having such a good time.
@@TheChadTI Me neither !!!
My day too
If this isn’t one of the best rock songs ever written, I don’t know what is. The power in the intro, the lyrics, the solo, the outro, etc is fucking unreal. The haters can hate on Noel but goddamn, he could write a tune! Love Oasis…..the energy, passion and spirit are unmatched.
Liam's vocals at these points was absolutely flawless, effortless. Great song by a great band ❤️
We knows
We truly did find that brighter day!
Oasis is the most legendary band ever. Who agrees with me?
By the way, we are an upcoming band who are very inspired by the music of Oasis. If you are interested, head over to our channel and let us know what you think of our songs. Especially now, it is very hard for new bands to let people hear their music so that’s why we promote it here. Your support would help us a lot!
# OASIS RULES, #1
Since the 90s - in Britain - I would agree, and they're my favorite band. But Metallica and Nirvana are probably more legendary from the 90's cohort more broadly and that's not even getting into 60's-80's bands.
One of the most...not the most ...they are many
How about "the voice of generation x"...The One And Only NIRVANA...
These guys were absolutely the definition of rockstars
The fact that we had to wait 25 years to watch this in good quality is an absolute crime, but I'm happy nonetheless we finally get to see it.
Every person in this video is having the time of their lives including the band. Joyous
without bad music, without public distancing, without covid, 1996 simply an excellent musical year. God take us back to these glories of music. God bless you Oasis.
Boys come back, you will make millions happy. Please
Th's Some Might Say performance is the absolutely best of Oasis for me. Like if someone asks me to introduce them to Oasis, i would show this. Peak 90s.
Cant wait for the entire live album to come out. Always have something unique these live performances

The mix of Liam and Noel's voices was sooooo on point here. Biblical !
Angelical
They are back!!
Thank god. Long time coming

This is history!!!
Was lucky enough to see them at Earls Court in 95. That was top class. Would have been class to have been to this gig too 👍
Earls Court imo is their best performance ever, supersonic was amazing I seen them in slane that year absolutely amazing

THIS IS THE BEST OASIS CONCERT THAN I EVER SEE IN MY FUCKING LIFE, LONG LIVE OASIS
One of the most amazing concerts I have ever been, What a fantastic night
The peak of Oasis. This was the highlight of their career and at this moment in time, literally no one could touch them. They got everything: the tunes, the vocals, the attitude... and took them to the top of the mountain. There was nothing left and it all went downhill from this moment on. Of course *some might say* G mex, Wembley, Manchester 2005... but nothing will ever top this.
Wembley
nah it only went downhill after 97
@@jonasrmb01 that’s your opinion but I just love everything about Wembley and I prefer Maine road to knebworth imo

His voice just rips a hole in the sky in this performance. Bloody biblical.
Everyone in that crowd is in their 40's and 50's now...... PAIN.
Yes, the PAIN is worth it as we got to experience this historic concert 😄
Was a great time to be alive 🙌🏽
I was there...and yes, it WAS an amazing night. Thank you boys!
I can't stop to listening this amazing song since the first day it came out.
Best some might say live performance ever!
Never tired of listening to the same Band since 2002. 🎸🇬🇧
I wanna ticket!!!! Gutted I missed out on both ballot codes. My cousin passed away back in May, only aged 46......... Cancer, diagnosed a year too late otherwise he'd still be here, sounds silly but I wanted to take him in "spirit"... he even called his son Laim!! In fact his 2 boys even look like Noel & Liam!! ❤❤
There is nothing sweeter than prime Oasis and Noel Gallaghers live solos and outros. Might not be the most technical, but melodically, Noel is elite.
One of the Oasis hymns, the song that together with Acquiesce define Oasis. Knebwoth is Mad fer it yeah!!
Watched noels interviews have we?.........
why did u copy Noel phrase?

All I listened to at 12 years old and still the cd lives on probably if not one of the greatest cds of all time wish Noel and Liam would sort it out tour would sell out in minutes ❤
The look and sound of the band back then was absolutely brilliant! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Noel's backings are fantastic here !!!
As always.
in no indistinct fashion, this is Oasis's best song BAR NONE! My first CD ever and my favorite song on the album and their entire catalog, though I have to say the guitar work on the album version is even better.
A lot of people consider the "Be Here Now" era to be their best, but I think this was their absolute peak. They were sailing atop their 2 best albums and the world was roaring. Plus, they still had their energy. They should have taken a break before Be Here Now, because you could see and hear how exhausted they were throughout that tour. That latter era was more mythological due to the insane circumstances surrounding it than the music itself.
Biblical. This outro is golden.
noel's guitar playing here is sick, so lovely to see him truly enjoying himself :,) the boys are back X
Oasis is the biggest reason why I wish to be born in 90's.
You mean the 80s?
Best band of all time. One of the best songs of all time. I will never get tired of hearing Some Might Say
the best oasis song imo
Yep I always liked this one especially the lyrics ‘ Some might say they don’t believe in heaven, go and tell it to the man that lives in hell ‘ I mean wow !
To have been at this concert.... peak 90's and peak rock n' roll. Thank you Oasis.
For 25 years Live By The Sea has been the best example of Oasis live. Until now... ❤️
Liam saluting Noel for his guitar riffs 🎵💙
I nearly cry when I see sh*t like this - not even ashamed - beyond biblical 🎵🖤
Fab fab fab seen these a few times and they where so entettaining yes no mobile phones just eyes looking. Loved gigs like that
Goosebumps..... fucking goosebumps. The band, the era, the tunes, the swagger, the gigs and the place as one of the best to ever do it! Can’t even begin to express the emotions I have for this band man! They were the greatest....managed to get myself a ticket for knebworth 2.0 with Liam. Won’t be the same, but I’m dreaming Noel walks out with him. Can’t wait to see Knebworth for the first time
It's nice. Listening to songs I listened to when I was changing my daughter's nappy. And when my mum babysat going out in town and re living being babyless to a degree but finding out I'm a lightweight coz of 9months drinking orange juice and then bursting and having a cig. Mmmm. I will have to listen to cigarettes and alcohol next 😎😆
Liam's voice here is biblical, his voice is definition of youth.
I think this song's lyrics don't get enough praise. This is a true working class anthem.
some might say we need that reunion asap.
Best song, Best take!!!!!!(from Japan)
So happy oasis are back
My favorite band of all time
It's coming home, guys!!!🎉
Probably one of the best vocal performance from Liam! Outstanding!
The best rock band. 💜
These great songs that Noel wrote are absolutely and I mean absolutely perfect for liams voice...no way he could've ever known when writing them
Noel has often said he found his groove there standing doing lead guitar and backing vocals and he got very good at it.
He said it once and he said it about the end of oasis! He never wanted to sing, it’s just that Liam couldn’t do it night in and out and that’s not surprising how he sang. Look at Rose and Cobain
Some bands wish they have at least one song as powerful as this one. This guys made at least 20 that will stand the test of time
Older I get the more I realise how incredibly awesome they were...
This song is OASIS 💯
Top song.
Class.
If only the brothers would make peace for only one freaking reunion show, that would be biblical!
It's on Noel. Can't see it ever happening tbh
@@neilbarton5235 I think it's more likely to happen a future reunion for a single live concert while I would rule out a possibility for a reunion for making studio albums again
What happened between them?
Vitor Barreto oh it's a whole saga. On the surface, Noel was just fed up with Liam's behaviour.
Underneath, I think there was a lot of both admiration & resentment from each side. One of them writes great songs. One of them has a great voice.
Ultimately it could be in the hands of the fans. If they really want an Oasis reunion, then stop buying Noel's solo albums😂
Hall of Fame maybe but that’s it. They REALLY don’t like each other.
Everyone was talking about this concert in August '96 during the week after. It was live on the radio, so we all gathered round to listen to it. (They could have sold out the concert 100 times over, so most of us weren't able to see them).
It's hard to describe just how magical that time was. Those days are gone sadly, the culture & meaning of mainstream music has changed entirely.
This is absolutely roaring!

Noel! Where have you been hiding this version of yourself? You are radiating happiness!!
Noel is a genius man! Just rolling these songs off one after the other was crazy! I don’t think any other songwriter apart from Dylan,Lennon/McCartney and Jagger/Richards had a greater period then Noel had. All on his own these songs about hope, belief, not giving in, living, friendship, love, sadness , nonsense, partying, headshrinking and shaker makers came and then having a mad little brother who didn’t even like music coz he thought it was gay come along and sing them with the passion that they needed! It was perfect snd changed my life and made me proud and maybe made me walk like a knob!

Sharing a little story from my life and how it changed after I discovered Oasis. When I was studying college, we all used to huddle up to listen to the radio in our dorm. They played Champagne Supernova every evening for about a month. I was so enamoured by that song. Couple of years later, I'd options to choose between University of Manchester, University of Leicester, University of Exeter for my masters. I chose University of Manchester only because I wanted to go where Oasis was from. That was the only reason. I spent the summer of 2010 listening to What's the Story, Morning Glory on repeat. I understand that's 15 years too late. But that's when I found Oasis's magic. Even more coincidental, I lived just next to Maine Road, where Oasis played many times. However, when I was in the UK, the band split up. Never got to see them live. And I'm not sure if that'll happen at all.
Sometimes a part of me can't bear listening to any song from that album, because of how nostalgic I get thinking of that summer in Manchester.
Remember taping this from Dutch radio at 10’in the evening . Was 12 years old, massive oasis fan.. been ever since.. soundtracki of my life
