It was an ironic nonsense song--Oasis made themselves an ironic nonsense band doing it like this (and much of their other stuff) and the irony clearly lost on them.
The way Liam almost took out Whitey's rack tom/crash stand as well (3:47, sadly unseen - comes back for a bit more at 4:06), not to mention the hat and overhead mics. You can see the crew attempting to put it back between all the jump cuts.
