- I was driving by when I spotted this ABANDONED NIGHTMARE so I stopped and took a look. I wasn't sure we could do an overgrown property this difficult but we were able to pull through after nine hours of hard work. When we were packing up to leave a neighbor stopped by and told us this house has been vacant since 2005, but at one time it was very well maintained and cared for. What a team! Keep up the good work and tell your partner to hang in there with you. She's doing well and will one day be using the equipment right along with you. I know.... I was someone's partner once, too. I even worked my way up to my own rider mower and a small, but mighty little Homelite Super EZ chainsaw. Girls who aren't afraid of working up a little sweat, or dirt under their fingernails are worth their weight in gold!! You 2 are destined to set a new standard!! Love the videos!!

It's really annoying to see so many homes end up like this when there's so many that can't get into homeownership. I encourage everyone to research the adverse possession laws in their area and if possible use them to their advantage. Great job, thanks for the video!

Lots of hard work here. I have a hard time thinking about how people can let this stuff go so long. If owner default on a loan you’d think the bank would want to maintain it so it can be resold.

I liked that you picked this place for several reasons. It will build morale in the community to see it cared for, it will reduce vermin and bug habitats, there is the fun of seeing the original design and care emerge, how you make choices and resolve problems. Clearing the fence line some was a good move, it opened the connection back to the area. Nice work you two.

Love the thin elongated mid-century roman brick, 50's to early 60's ranch house.. and the old pinkish painted wood.

You two did great! Don't apologize for caring about your equipment, that stuff gets expensive! I feel so bad for the house. It looks like it was a really nice one. That is why when you own a home you should always have a will. A lot of these properties were owned for 50 years and then the owner passes away and it goes into probate and years later when no one has been paying the property taxes the City takes it over and not one takes care of it. Why the City does not sell these places baffles me. What a waste. You guys did it justice today. And it looks great compared to what it was. Those dirt and branches and concrete are left by people that "cleaned" it up the last time. If you are going to trim back trees and cut down the weed trees be prepared to haul it off and not leave it for the next person or the owners to find a way to haul it off. You guys rock! That is a nice house. What a shame it is abandoned. If it’s bank owned, banks are notorious for asking exorbitant amounts for properties that need rehab. If it is owned by an individual, shame on them for not being responsible enough to keep it cleaned up. Regardless, you did a good job cleaning it up. Maybe it will spark som interest for buyers. I’m sure those of us watching, of average means, wonder why a beautiful home and a lot of land go abandoned. Hope the owner(s) watch this video and put it up for sale.
