- Some of you will probably remember this property because I've already done 7 episodes here. Back then I decided not to clean up the backyard and some of the front as it was just too crazy. Well, I've had a change of heart, and I'm back to finish off the whole lot. And when I say this yard is crazy, I mean CRAZY! It's full of blackberries, rubbish, old trees and what's left of the garden beds. To get this property back up to scratch, I would say it going to be quite a few episodes. I'm going to do the best I can here, as the homeowner really needs the help. I'm also going to go back over the work I've done, as I could have done better! I hope you enjoy the episode and stay tuned for the biggest transformation I've ever done - what a challenge! All up, I spent around 13 hours on this episode, including 3 trips to the landfill. Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

What a great transformation. I'm a 58 year old woman and I love this work. I'm working on transforming my neighbors yard while they are away. Mental illness has stopped the home owner from taking care of the property. We stepped in because we have a big rat problem in our community. I can appreciate the work you do because it is extremely hard work.

It looks like it could be a utility or drain, mate. It's hard to tell without tracking it to the source. Either way, it needs covering in sand and then backfilling. Otherwise, it might cause later trouble from frost damage. I'm guessing the flax debris kept it insulated prior to you being there.
This series is a great lesson in what can be done with perseverance and hard work. I remember an early one where even you were unsure about doing it. Kudos, mate. Chunking it into bits, and don't get overwhelmed. A great way to show how it should be done.

Well, to be fair, the entryway you did in the first 2 episodes was a mammoth job. It definitely looked loads better than before. So you coming back and fine tuning what was left is not "fixing" what was wrong, but simply a new starting point 😃
I know you're a perfectionist, George, and you want it to look its best from the start but your projects are not regular cases. Sometimes, a place requires 2 passes for it to be up to your standard and that's fine too! Progress over perfection, yeah? 🤗

О Господи, неужели не понятно, ты только въехал в новый дом, ещё не успел закупится... Лично у меня в конце месяца в холодильнике мыши вешаются😂 Я делаю закупки раз в месяц, затем делаю заготовки, замораживаю в морозильной камере. Хватает на месяц, очень удобно, вчера делала масштабную закупку продуктов и бытовой химии, сегодня леплю пельмени и вареники. Вот как то так! Просто времени не хватает чтобы готовить каждый день, 2 дня потрачу на заготовки и весь месяц свободна😊 А дом у тебя классный, очень уютный и чистый. Молодец Джордж! Приглашай в гости! Елена 😘🤗

I recall watching you when you first took it on and to be honest, I thought that driveway broke you. I was absolutely gutted it was so much hard work and that you had finally met your match. The one thing ive learned from watching your videos is,
No matter what the plant is or what it looked like when planted, if its not taken care of, it needs to come out. I watch with the CC on.
