- I found this empty lot and decided to clean it up for the neighborhood. After I finished mowing the property, one of the neighbors came out and told me if I knew the owner of the empty lot. He's been trying to get a hold of the owner for a couple years now, with no luck, and has to deal with the overgrown grass and weeds every single year. He actually has been thinking about purchasing the lot just to do at least something with it, instead of the lot overgrowing every year. I hope the owner sells the property for further improvement of the neighborhood.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I just don’t think I could live next door to that and not occasionally mow it myself! I couldn’t stand living next to such a mess. It would make my house look worse. Either that, or put up a fence. I wish people would take responsibility for their own properties but we all know they don’t. Thanks for helping out the neighborhood!

I wouldn't like living next to it either but I'm a 64 year old woman with a push mower only. That would be a hard task. I would have to hire someone.
That's what people used to do when I was a kid growing up in the sixties, southern Cal. Of course I had mowed a couple lawns for neighbors in addition to my family's lawns.
We did the same when we had neighbors that wouldn't mow the large lot on their rental property. It wasn't sitting well with us leaving it feral, so we regularly mowed it along with our own yard.
I've mowed 20' onto my lazy neighbor's property for years. Makes my yard much larger and his mess much smaller.
Never knew a vacant lot could look so nice, great job😊

Those mature shrubs in the back of the lot were really beautiful. Maybe part of someone’s back yard at one time 🤔? It looks like a nice “park” setting after you cleaned it up 🙌💯💚.
It looks like this used to be a well taken care of yard with the shrubs at the back of the property maybe the owner passed away or the home had burned down or become unsafe and had to be removed but its grass is pretty thick and beautiful really. Considering other vacant lots you have done this one is quite pretty not sure what the neighbour was complaining for.
I know the neighbors appreciate your efforts! I would.

I clean my equipment once a week and make sure the blades are sharp. Equipment Maintenance is a must!

To many hidden dangers for me to do a property like that ! Rocks / Bricks / logs / bottles etc ! Hope your Ex Mark is alright ! No matter how careful you try it is near impossible to miss all of them !! However you did a great job as usual !!!

Thanks for doing what you could to make that lot/yard neat for the neighborhood. I tend to agree with one person's suggestion, of cutting up the wood and putting it to the front, and then someone who needs it can have it and it will no longer be a crisis spot in the lot area that is hard to deal with. Your work looks good.

Well, somone needs to get that dead tree out of there, but that’s doable.
In a perfect world, the city or county could mandate owners of property keep it mowed and keep property clean of garbage.
The city or county could send clean up crew and charge property owner and if they don’t pay take them to court.
Neighbors can find out who owns it by going to city/county look up at the recorders office.
It’s a fire hazard as well as a place for people to dump trash. And that’s not good for anyone living in the neighborhood.
Always make it look so great. Pride in your job AND the equipment you use shines through.

The wood at the back of this property was probably thrown there by one of the people who live in the area, that would be my guess. if you chopped it up and left it at the road side the city may come by and take it away come garbage day. or someone who needs firewood for a wood stove could take it and use it that way. As usual you do an outstanding job on this project and it is always done with the most utmost respect to the neighbours no mater what moods they are in and so professionally it just brings to mind Customer service and customer satisfaction knowing there is another property in your community that is safe and cleaned up. Interesting that the lot is crummy, but there are nice plants in back. Makes me wonder if there had been a house on the lot or owner wants to keep lot the way it is. But who threw out grass seed?
I noticed you put the rocks on a pile along with some trash. At end I still saw the pile. Did you leave it all without taking it?
Also, lots if loose branches that could have been cut or throw branch onto the pile. Better still saw it all up and take it home for your fire pit.

It’s actually pretty easy to get the owner name, just go tax record for the town and put in the address. Phil thank you for all the amazing cleanup and makeovers you do for the communities.
I think I bent both blades and threw them away after this lot. Needed some new ones anyways 😅

As to mystery owners, your city hall can tell you who is paying (or not paying) the taxes on each property. Also, the city code enforcement officer can provide a list of problem properties for your free cleanup projects.

It looks lovely, I hope the neighbourhood can keep it up, it look like a great place kids to play. Couple of lawn mower run over it every month and a nice person with a trailer can get rid if the dead tree. All in all , a good community project for a private kiddy park.
And yes I would be a part of one in my street.
