"I lost my Power in this world cause I did not use it" - one of the most powerful statements ever. So many people could be more than they are, but they refuse to act.
I'ma Kung Fu sorcerer and that statement,( I lost my power in this world cuz I did not use it) is true. what you do in magic you got to keep doing. It otherwise you'll lose it because using your power is like building strength it's an exercise you should stay at it

Lindsey Buckingham is a master at vocal harmonics.
Imagine a song this good only making it as high as #23 on the pop charts in 1984. That shows you how good the music in the 80s was. That there could be 22 songs ahead of it at its peak.
one of the top 5 songs that year IMO and the talent back then was phenomenal
You call this good?
@@Mojoe70No, not good. Fantastic.
The subjective estimation
@@Mojoe70It’s amazing.
The guyliner, the gigantic wedge of hair, the video visuals that make no sense, the electronic drums. So 80s. So delicious.
Ha!Ha! Yes!! Big shoulder pads....It was awesome music in the 80's. 👍
This was pure poetic catharsis, he was cleansing himself of the vampiric relationships and the video had a hidden message about relationship to the self and the environment
Steven Williams 😂 I have no idea what you just said, but I totally agree. If you want to see true Lindsey Buckingham genius though, check out “Big Love” live from The Dance tour. O. M. G. ua-cam.com/video/mZZp76M4NGc/v-deo.html

Steven Williams thx for the analysis. Very interesting. I do remember seeing all those videos back in the day and we were all fascinated by the special effects and super impressed by the ethereal of it all-and I mean any vide, not just this one.
1984 was a great year. Thanks for the reminder, Lindsey. Much love and happiness.
Ever gotta lakeland much?
I agree. I was born in 1984!
1984 was a damn good year for music
I agree, pre-school was a blast!
I was 9 years old in 1984, great year yess 👍
This video is pure, undiluted 80's craziness
yet theres a method to the madness.

Dead.
Including his 80's hair !
never underrated, but perhaps under celebrated singer/song writer and absolute guitar phenom. the influence he is in pop and the sheer courage displayed on his creative path is beyond compare. if you think he'll do the same thing twice then you will be sadly disappointed, but you will never be disappointed by what he brings to the stage or performance. this is what they mean by national treasure.
Not beyond compare in courage etc. See: David Sylvian. THAT"S COURAGE! And genius.
Yeah Buckingham is an incredible guitarist, but not with the flashy solos etc so he doesn't get the respect he deserves
I would consider myself a flashy guitarist and I have NEVER underestimated Mr. Buckingham's genius as a guitarist. Back in the day he did actually get some love from the guitar mags and from guitarists. As I have grown older, I appreciate his talent even more. I don't think he gets enough credit with mainstream pop culture. In musical circles, at least the ones I hang in, he is very much appreciated for his contributions as both a guitarist AND a songwriter.

Right!
Heard this song watching the 1st season of Miami Vice.

The Mac needs Lindsey so much more than he needs them! I'll always love Lindsey. And Eighties music!
If u checked out their last concert, F.M. isn't the same without Lindsey..
I refused to go to their last concert here in Grand Rapids due to no Lindsey.
Totally agree! God save Lindsey
Lisa Cunningham I agree 100%. I forgot how good looking Lindsey was back in the day!

deep down, they know Lindsey's right.
Remember when you could turn on the radio and hear GOOD music?
those were the days...
Yes. This was the first video that I watched on MTV. I remember running home to watch the first day of MTV but the bus was late so I miss like the first 10 songs but when the 11th song came on I was ready and this was the song that I got to listen to
YOU SHOULD HAVE LIVED DURING THE 70'S....
The British Invasion in 64 started decades of great radio...peaked in 83...slowly died during the 90's. By 2000, the radio was pretty much over. Sure there's a song or 2 that's good but it's not a steady flow of great music like before. Ticktock (not TikTok) radio has a great feature that plays songs from one year at a time...with great depth.
I'm Class of 84 - I hear you.....
Been decades but yes
Can we talk about how handsome he really is though?! And the acoustic version of this is just amazing! ❤️🎤🔊🎶
He's gorgeous 😍
Lindsey is so cute 🥰
This video is a trip.
He's at his hottest in the "Holiday Road" video.
I never thought much about Lindsay’s looks before but he really is good looking and has beautiful eyes 😍
Lindsey is so handsome. He should have been on Peoples 50 beautiful people list. This song is insanely good. Lol.
Oohhh but that hair...looked better in his Holiday Road and Trouble videos. This looked like Thomas Dolby.
Yes he was!
Well, not making the People's 50 list made him go insane.
Sexy man
He’s even more gorgeous now. Handsome handsome man.
Fleetwood Mac would never have become the band it became without Lindsey Buckingham, no chance. He was the driving force behind their best music. Just look at the band before him and then after him. But, it's also true that he achieved more with them than without. It was a creative friction that all made them better than they would have been otherwise, like the Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Who and many other legendary bands.
Well, let's not forget the other arrival Stevie Nicks. She also had a lot to do with Fleetwood Mac achieving mainstream success.
I think it was all of them. They could not have had their own particular sound without each individual one of their magic...
Fleetwood Mac was awesome blues band but they wanted to make money
All the members of the band rock in a unique and amazing way. Put them all together at it's pure magic.
stevie and Buckingham were a duo before Fleetwood mac and dont forget peter green
“We need a cocaine-fuelled representation of what it’s like inside the brain of someone with a mix of anxiety and depression”

Lindsey, you have NO IDEA how much of an influence you were on me while growing up during the 80's. Between your work in Fleetwood Mac to your solo career, I just want to say from the bottom of my heart......Thank you for all the wonderful music and memories! Your music has always been incredible and filled with a certain magic no one else has ever come close to. Much love, bro! Much love.
R.I.P. Fleetwood Mac, without Lindsey you are just another band from the past.
I agree! Just a glorified oldies band without a key member who wrote sang and produced there best stuff.
I agree. Both Lindsay Buckingham & Bob Welch.
@@kathleenparker959 we can talk about Bob Weston too. Listening to 'Hypnotized' now.
I agree with you. I like Neil Finn but I liked him with crowded house, not FM. Stevies voice is shot and so is Christine's. I still listen to the old stuff but not the new.
@@TheBrisnana They are in their 70s now, people act like they sould sound like they did when they were young.

Good song, but his live solo guitar version of this song is INSANE, literally the best thing you'll ever see someone perform.
Agreed the stripped down acoustic version is the best!
The acoustic version is more powerful. He puts a lot of emotion into it.
Check out live “Big Love”. I’ve never seen anything better.
And the acoustic 'Big Love' is also tremendous. Both those acoustic songs are almost a religious experience when you listen
@@CB-dl1vg EXACTLY! I am constantly bothering my daughter, who is a Stevie Nicks fan, with talking about how much of a unbelievably, talented artist Lindsay is! Not trying to make light of how great Stevie is, but Lindsay is phenomenal! And his guitar skills blow my mind!
Always will be one of my favourite Buckingham songs.
I searched "Lindsey Buckingham" after listening to this song...I'm adding this guy to my Spotify.
I've always loved Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks but it was Lindsey that always made my heart beat in such an inexplicable and mysterious way. Just no words to describe the feeling.

What a great song and what awesome lyrics. Lindsay is so underrated as a solo performer.
I miss the 80's. I would sacrifice every last rap star on Earth to relive them one more time.
I remember seeing this on Friday Night Videos, was too poor for cable and MTV. Lol. Good memories though.

Lindsey is such a great guitarist, Pretty good on vocals as well.
In Chicago where I'm from we were all over this track during the summer of 1984. WLS and B96 top 40 played it as well as our top FM stations at the time, "The Loop" (WLUP) and "The Mighty Met" (WMET).
When WLS had their year end countdown of the "Big 89" songs this was most definitely there
I love you Lindsey, FleetWood Mac is nothing without you. You are the HEART and SOUL of that band. They are nothing without you. 💜

Lindsey, your music has always been the soundtrack to my life since I was a little girl growing up in Chippawa, a little village offshoot of Niagara falls Canada. I saw Fleetwood Mac perform in Buffalo in 2015. It was like a spiritual experience for me. I got goosebumps when you all came onstage and started playing. I am now 58 and everywhere I go I still hear your music playing at some point in the background. It comes on every time I get the car or go to a part, restaurant, shopping, literally everywhere. My grandkids even know your music because I play it around them. We went to a wedding this month and I danced with my grandkids to FM songs. I’m writing a book called Malice In Wonderland about my life growing up in a doomsday cult in the 70s and if it’s ever made into a movie, FM is my first choice for the soundtrack. Your music has gotten me through some really tough times. Thank you for recording your brilliant gift for all eternity. 💜❤️💜
Feel that coke spreading through the brain! Fantastic album by Lindsey.
Those that own the album knows the surprise ending of this song on the record.
