From the amazing convenience of getting everything delivered and installed, to navigating life on WhatsApp, and settling into our new apartment with fantastic amenities like a gym and pool, Dubai certainly has a lot to offer. But it’s not all sunshine-there are some challenges too, like the intense heat, air quality, and high costs.
Join me as I break down the good, the bad, and everything in between, including our car-buying experience, the friendly locals, and Dubai’s incredible infrastructure. Whether you're considering moving to Dubai or just curious about life here, this video will give you an honest look at what it's really like to live in this unique city.

I lived in Dubai for just under 3yrs and hated it. Everything is too clean and polished, almost clinical; it’s like one big theme park. Everyone rattles on about the ‘great weather’ but 50c forces everyone into air-con rooms. And when you do walk around, you’re just surrounded by posers and tourists - which again reinforces the theme park vibe.
Now I live in southern Thailand and I absolutely love it. There’s none of that fake rich snobbery and you get to meet with real people - not robotic personalities like Dubai. And it feels like real people actually live here, it’s not some display cabinet where people flex wealth. And the beaches? All natural - none of that fake, artificial nonsense, which genuinely just sums Dubai up.
Dubai is okay to visit for a few days - and I still pop back to visit friends - but after that, nah get me out of there.
I am glad you found your happiness in Thailand, that's the beauty of the world we live in, so many different places for different people. Cheers 👋

100% agree with you, Kai! Safety, cleanliness and convenience are most certainly THE top 3 best things about the UAE. Crazy to hear about the 'dog-stealers in Barcelona' and the 'Amazon package steals' in the US. Really can't imagine that - crazy how fast you're getting used to the life here in Dubai. Wish you sooooo much success (and patience!) with all the apartment/furniture-related arrangements. We can't wait to come check it out pronto! ;-)

I was wondering, the 10-year Golden Visa is for investment of more than 2 million AED if I am correct? Can the 2 million be divided over multiple properties? And, one more thing, can we get it from a property purchase of 2 million, but only 50% is paid, would one still qualify for Golden Visa?
Thank you for watching and for your kind words 🙌 You're correct-the 10-year Golden Visa is available for property investments of more than 2 million AED. As for your question, yes, the investment can be spread across multiple properties as long as the total value is 2 million AED or more. Regarding the 50% payment, the requirement is that the property should be fully paid, or you need to have a mortgage with at least 2 million AED worth of equity in the property to qualify for the Golden Visa. Is it true that there are a ton of trucks carrying waste all the time because of the absence of a proper sweage system?
Hi and no I can assure you that’s not the case as they do have sewage system. With 3.5 million residents and many tourists living here that would be a lot of trucks … and smell 😂 So they did think of that in advance 😉👌
That WhatsApp thing sounds horrible to me haha
But honestly, once you get used to it it’s actually awesome how much it speeds things up 😉👌
