You’re a better man than me!! How you spent the night there on your own is beyond me, not for the faint hearted that’s for sure. Gave me a chill just watching you😮. Really enjoy your videos though, you clearly have a passion for it. Good luck👍👍
I passed Luibielt back in 2003 on the 3rd day of a walk from Dalwhinnie to Fort William. Back then I hadn't heard of it's history & that terrifying story. Great video for Halloween mate
@@karenjones2655 I've got 2 ghosts in my house (1913 a young man hung himself in the old dairy shed and another actually stuck a shotgun under his chin and blew his head off right where I'm sitting now in my computer room) and a weird place around the back of one of my dams where even my big dogs and stock (sheep and cattle) will never go after dark...they simply refuse and Ive been through there once 30 years ago when I didn't believe...I ended up running out of there my hair was standing up and I could feel "something" watching and running behind me...Never went that way after dark again...Ive used the area as a joke and have caught a few people who have come screaming out of there
Looks like you could have gone all out and pitched within the walls of the ruin, out of the full force of the wind, and got the total haunted experience lol
Ah, this place and story was on the podcast Uncanny. I think when the hikers arrived there was a dinner and all the plates set on the table, and it looked liked people had just recently left. I think there was the sound of boots walking down the stairs.
Gregor...you survived! You are one brave soul! I wouldn't camp there on my own if you paid me! Something tells me you live somewhere around Fort William..my favourite place! I listened to an episode of Uncanny about that very lodge whist camping in Glen Nevis campsite after summiting Ben Nevis . Next time I'm up there I will hike out and take a look. Great video as always! 😀
Great Adventure Gregor you are a Brave Guy, you should have taken your mate with you for company, you said you had no phone signal , what would or could you do if say you twisted your ankle and couldn't walk for example ? What do you do in no signal situations, do you notify Family or friends beforehand I noticed you changed back from your Trail shoes to Hiking Boots , is this for the rain /boggy paths, thanks and Take Care
I always let people know where I’m going before heading out. With regard to phone signal, it’s quite common to not get any in the Scottish hills, so just something you have to get on with I guess. Thanks for the support👍
It is a creepy place. Saying that though the trees at Luibelt are the only ones around so when heading for Meanach bothy it is good to see them as the bothy is over on the other side of the river. Once you see the trees you know you are almost there. Luibelt was still a furnished house when the guys from Glasgow had that experience. The table had plates etc on it. Supposedly a bunch of RAF guys on exercise did a runner as well on another occasion. It has been stripped of anything flammable over the past 50 years to feed the bothy fire at Meanach. Some people have slept in the small shed nearby when the river has been in spate. If you are superstitious that river is good. Evil can't cross flowing water😅😅😅 A good one is to read a bit of Scottish folklore before having a wild camp. The Bean nighe washerwoman that washes the clothes of those that are about to die. The bean sidhe or banshee, the water horses and , most horrible, the baobhan sith - a creature that takes the form of a beautiful woman in a long green dress but with deers hooves for feet. They will seduce men and then kill them and drink their blood. The way to protect yourself is to carry iron such as a knife or have a horseshoe over the door. Now, Im not superstitious but September/October can be creepy when it is the rutting season and you are alone in the middle of nowhere in your tent. 😅😅😅
Are you sure the house was furnished when the Uncanny story happened? I thought those hikers had experienced some sort of a “time slip” seeing the Christmas table all set…? I’ll need to give it another listen.
Lovely!! What a fantastic story of Luibeilt Lodge! I looked up Danny Robbins on Uncanny and listen to the stories, amazing! Brave you are but those views and the running water from the streams make this one nice video for Halloween evening!! We were eating our dinner watching the video and I was so into story, views, my dinner was gone in seconds LOL Thanks Again for another nice adventure from Scotland!! Please, be safe & well, Happy Halloween!!🎃
Not haunted. I listened to the podcast and my conclusion is, another hiking team came in, and they both scared each other to dead. How can I say this? Well when they left they noticed that one of the windows upstairs had the curtains on. Ghosts dont ude curtains. Another team came in, they were already familiar with the place, and they walked in and start to move things around to create space for them to rest, not knowing the two dudes were already sleeping there , one of the guys...I don't recall who...turned a candle but was thrown through the room. That's because one of the "invading" wandered got scared and kicked that away then they all ran. The new team sneaked upstairs while those two left. No ghost just a bunch fools scaring each other. 😂
Slept upstairs there when the roof was still partly on, the board in the window fell in while rolling out our sleeping bags, it had been there for how long? Creepy, 1979 I think.
what a beautiful spot. i wonder, if a person has no knowledge of the stories, how would they feel about the location. also curious if locations like this are owned by the state. if they are, they shouldn't be letting them get to such a state of dereliction. somebody should be restoring this little lodge. great video!
The one at the entrance is a Rowan. I think it is two, intertwined. You always find them where there had been a house as people planted it to keep the evil eye away...or keep something in...
One of the guys did return 5 years later and had another incident. he was interviewed on the Uncanny podcast ((series 1 cant remember the episode number) for the BBC.

Agreed. I love ruins of old buildings and old abandoned buildings. They have a stark beauty of their own.
Incredible views and a brilliant video. Thank you for uploading 💥👍😎
The scenery is majestic, the video is very interesting!!
Love the beautiful nature views! That area you're camping at looked creepy even during the day. Such a brave soul.
I like the way you said " the cameraman never dies" 😂😂😂😂
WoW stunning views. Bonnie Scotland. Creepy story. No wonder we're proud to be Scottish. Great explore. 👍👍👍💯💯
You know, being any kind of European means nothing anymore. We'll all be taken over by africans and muslims thanks to israelis in no time.

a nice campfire in the fireplace, i had the same thought.
Too rocky and stoney
The rest of the roof is ready to come down 😆
I’d imagine it would be dangerous to camp inside the walls of a falling down ruin of a building.
The problem with that is if the walls cave in on you you could be the one haunting the area
Ahaha loved it mate!! Very interesting and fun to watch. Glad you made it through the night without any scares
Nice one Gregor. Very 'creepy''! I remember when my family and l used to camp & it rained in the night. Loved it. All the best, John.
Great video Gregor. I passed by Luibelit a few years ago. Would love to go back and camp there. All the best.🏴👍
Imagine that in a thunderstorm with wind whipping around the ruins!

I always wanted to go camping in Scotland. Too bad can't afford it. I like watching your videos, they are like a glimpse of a dream for me.
Great story telling and any hiking adventure in gloomy weather is way better than a good day at work. Happy Halloween 👻 🎃!!
100%, always happy to get out hiking no matter the weather 👍
Sense no negative about the place, beautiful and serene only.
Torch light catches on something (someone?) in the house when flashed from the tent!
Good Lord, brother, what camera do you use-the colors are phenomenally captured and the quality is amazing for such an uncontrolled environment!
Great video, really enjoyed it ! Brave lad 🙂
What a beautiful place.
👻Haunted or Not, I would have camped inside the old ruins, due to the rain and winds, way too cold and wet out there. Be safe out there sir.👻
so beautiful scenery ! :D
Hi Gregor! I'm disappointed, no Bigfoot no Kelpies no Big Grey Man 😂. Best wishes to you from your #1 USA fan. Marco

OMG that long far off shot of the tent then it sullenly going dark was like something from a 70s horror film scary 12:50
Scotland 🏴 terrain is always creepy due to its calmness atmosphere or the solitude environment
