I had been on a fishing trip and was driving back along the shores of Loch ness about 3 am, 4 people in the car I decided to pull over for a drink of water which was in the boot, I stopped as I got out of the car I left the door openened which left the interior light on, as I looked and headed to the rear of the car I noticed a huge dark grey figure standing just outside the treeline at about 30 to 40 yards, the first thing that flashed through my mind was big foot, I went to the back of the car lifted the boot to rummage for my water and said here lads something is watching us, I found the water turned to look again and it was still standing there looking at me, but I didn't feel spooked I walked back to the drivers door looked again and it was gone, one of the lads said he saw something move back in to the trees but couldn't make it out, he was still in the car with the rest of them, my brother phoned the next day and said Google the grey man of Ben Macdui, I had never heard of this before strange.
Sandy Tewnion, the man with the revolver, was my biology teacher at school. He was a good climber, along with his brother, members of the SMC. His brother died in a climbing accident. Sandy walked with a limp due to shrapnel in his leg. The service revolver was part of his wartime duties. He seemed quite a gruff character but had a sense of humour. I didn't know anything about this during my school days. It was only later I read accounts of the Grey Man.

Over the last 10 years I've ridden my motorbike a quarter of a million miles across 41 different countries some of them up to eight times and Wild camped in every single place completely alone in a tiny one man tent including practically every inch of the UK and Scotland. I have wild camped all over Transylvania and Romania at the base of Bran Castle which was the inspiration for the Dracula stories. I've slept in huge dark forests in Eastern Europe and all over Scandanavia and up in every one of Europes huge mountain ranges, and then two weeks alone while crossing the Sahara desert. Twice! I've slept in cemeteries in almost every country Ive been in because they are free campsites. Never once sensed an 'eerie presence' anywhere or had any reason to be afraid of anything. Some people are just afraid of their own shadow and heartbeat.

Earplugs work a treat 4 sleeping. Thanx 4 the video. Love your accent. I'm from Australia 😊
Yes chap....
Really impressed way you've edited this one. Great graphics popping up and your banter too. Liam, you deff put miles in and that's just you bashing motorways to get where you're going. Top drawer buddy.👍🏼🇬🇧😁
Thanks Fraser mate🙌🏻 always glad when people appreciate the editing
Affleck Gray's book about the hill is worth a read.
Great video! I'm looking to start solo camping nxt year 🏞️👍
Wow great stuff LIAM, and what views on the way up, when you were cooking your dinner at 34.45 in the video, there was a sound like a scream or a bird or something, but you just Finnish reading about some ghost that haunts the top of the mountain, and you didn't even look up or say anything, just thinking about food I suppose. Anyway loving the tent looks bigger than my too man tent, well made aswell thanks for taking us up with you joyed it immensely. Take care of yourself and yours Alan 💯👻👍
Oh i’ll have to listen back when I get home and see if I can hear anything ☠️😫
And thanks for watching mate, all the best 🙌🏻

@@GoodBlokeOutdoorsDid you hear it? 34.51...
You just came up on my page, and how funny are 😂 looking forward to watching back log
Cracking video as usual, smashed it
Thank you
Proper funny episode. I'd also get along with the grey men, if he only chases off fools who bring a revolver to shoot at mist.
Nice pitch opportunity with those walls, exactly suitable for the soulo footprint.
Grim and grey weather indeed.
Thanks mate! Yeah was grateful to see those walls 🙌🏻
You certainly get around a bit Liam 💪 cracking hike and as always thanks for taking us with you pal. Would you be able to let me know what Osprey bag you've taken on this trip. I'm looking to invest in a better rucksack so would like to check this one out.
Thanks again Liam and enjoy the rest of your week 🙏
Thanks Marc, the bag on this trip is a Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor ( its the older model ) different to the latest 1 but managed to grab 1 in the sales.
That windy bit reminded me of the film Das Boot when the U Boot surfaces and sees another U Boat! Very random but watch the film and you will see what I mean! Great video !
Absolutely loved the video. It looked as eerie as hell up there. Who makes the mustard yellow hoody you wear and what do you call them?
I’m not into all that ghost bollocks but Yeah it certainly does have a vibe about it … the hoody is by a company called Senchi Designs
