--- About this pattern ---
Make this simple crochet cardigan with my beginner-friendly pattern for beginners available in size S up to 5XL. All you need to know is how to make chains and double crochet stitches.
--- About me ---
My name is Wilma, I’m 25 years old and I live in the Netherlands. I design crochet patterns which I share for free on wilmade.com. I especially like to make garments, shawls and hats.
I was born with a (benign) tumor in my face. For more than 22 years my doctors did not know what it was exactly. In 2017 I did a second opinion and got diagnosed with an ultra rare condition. I immediately started searching for other people with this condition.
So far I have found about 40 people in the whole wide world. It’s amazing how many similarities we have and how much we look alike. Many of my upcoming patterns, including this one, will be special designs inspired by my new ‘extended family’. You can read more on my blog: wilmade.com/an...

Thank you for sharing this pattern. So many are now charging, so I especially appreciate your talent and your generosity. I'm 70 and just now learning to crochet and love it! Guess you could say I'm hooked. 😁 💖💖💖
According to the measurements, a medium should've fit me, but I could tell the back panel would be too big. I sized down to a 5.5 mm hook, and that worked out perfectly.
Thank you Glynette6570. Since it stretches I decided to make a small size.
Very pretty pattern, I can't wait to make this with my Lion Brand Mandala Ombre, Which is a gradient shade of denim colors. Thanks for sharing and listing the sizing chart. This will help me to crochet this beautiful sweater in my size.
This tutorial is so easy to understand and follow. The size chart is sooo helpful!!
I wanna see how long this takes me
Start : 3pm - 28th jan
First front panel : 8:13pm - 20th feb
(took me longer than I thought because of work and not crocheting for a few days)
2nd front panel : 6:06pm - 25th feb
Love this tutorial btw very easy to follow
I'm starting Jan.31
Thank you so much for this fantastic tutorial! I love my cardigan! I used the same grey color that you used. It goes with everything.
In just finished this yesterday! Your measurements where spot on for the large. Thank you!
I love this design. You make it so easy to create beautiful things. I think this could be my first attempt at crocheting clothing!
Dankjewel. ❤️ from Belgium, stay safe. 🍀
I love this pattern, how many skeins does it take to make a size medium?
Thank you so much ❤️ I've been looking for a mesh cardigan because of my age and the hot flashes. Again Thanks 😘!!!
Hi. Do you have a pattern for xl?
Hello! Thank you so much for this wonderful patter. This will be my first garment. I would like to block it. Should I block it before I seam it and add the arms? I can’t to see the end resilt!
How many grams needed
How can you make it shorter?
I bought this pattern and am confused because in the description of the cardigan, it says "This cardi has a beautiful ribbed hemline which is worked lastly." However, you did not add a ribbed hemline in the video or in the written pattern. Is the hemline here just your starting chain?
Best part of your videos are that they are really short and crisp .... Yet it gives me the idea of the project clearly....
You have god gifted talent....
God bless
Waiting for some more new ideas
I want to make this but with different weight of yarn. When I'm reading the written pattern for gauge (so I can do math), it says 5.3 ch sp x 8 rows is 4 inches. What does 5.3 mean? =/ Is it a typo and it should say five ch-2 spaces x 8 rows is 4 inches? I'm confused. Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much finally got it written down in my head I love this pattern and the yarn I use is so soft from Hobbi yarn in Demark Canada only thing if you miss one double crochet in one area omg 🤦♀️🤦♀️you must pull it those rows down this happen to me last nite I were on my 12 row I check my work omg I had to pull them all due to I miss one db crochet in a post I was down to 5 rows smh 🤣😂so now I make sure I check each row before I ch 3 and turn 😊
I tried to make this one cardigan size xl.
But still i get confused how to count 18 chain space for arm hole.
Could you help me to solve?
This is beautiful and your video was well done, thank you! I’m looking forward to making this 🧶💞
Its marvelous but am missing the cutting the arms

What a beautiful cardigan. Can't wait to crochet it.
Love your pattern! I am new to crocheting and would like to know if I could use a 4 weight cotton/acrylic blend for this cardigan? Also, would like to make a shorter sleeve. Would I just continue until the length I want and do the border for sleeve? Thank you
I'm confused where I join my stitch on the first panel? I'm doing and extra large size, and need explanation on this.

Definitely not simple enough for a beginner to follow but very beautiful.
If the pattern is free why did it take me to Etsy and I had to pay 4.50 for the pattern
You didn't scroll down far enough. It is free.

Just purchased your pattern on Ravelry for this. It will be the first wearable(other than shawls lol) I've ever made so I'm hoping it truly is "beginner friendly" lol making sleeves has me a bit nervous 😂
Was doing my back for a cardigan for beginners & then I can't find it ? It had 67 chains & it was a video ! Don't want to pull it out it's taken all day , & I think it was over 50 rows for back In half trebles in English, ?
Cardigan very nice 🥰Thank you so much 👍🌹🌹🌹
hartelijk dank Wilma, de vest is prachtig.
Groetjes.
Hi, I am new to your channel. I really love the cardigan. However, when I chained 73 for the medium size, it measured 29” using a size 6 hook. It is very wide, looks like it will be to large. Do I have the wrong count for a medium? How can I adjust the sizing?
Thank you for this pattern.
Overall, it was simple. I really like the look.
The next time I am going to tweak it a bit. I had a difficult time putting together the side seams, because it was hard to make a straight edge out of a wavey one. I would prefer the edges of each row to be straight. I am not sure how to do this with a V stitch. I'll have to research.
I will also slip stitch into each row of the sleeves. To me it just looks neater than rounds. Instead I will Slip stitch, chain 1, then go into the V with a DC on each row.
Update! I finished and my new sweater is lovely! Can't wait to wear it!
Would post a picture if I could.
Very nice and neat. The Milano wool makes it look expensive and will keep its shape and longevity
Sehr schön. Vielen Dank für die tolle Anleitung Wilma😉😉
Turkcesini istiyorum tig kac numara yabanci dili anlamiyorum
Thank you 🙏 this is beautiful 💟
Hello, I like your video and I'm almost done with the cardigan😁

Omg the hook is too thick and the yarn is too thin. I think there will be large holes there. Hehe
Very pretty
I made a start first attempt at making a cardigan, excellent video and great instructions.
Hard to follow you. Instructions aren't clear enough & you speed up the video too much. This isn't beginner friendly.

Hi Wilma thank you so much for this tutorial. You explain everything so thoroughly. I made this cardigan in powder pink. It came out beautiful. Thanks for all you do.

I’m definitely a beginner and I would love to try this pattern but would like to make it longer, goes down to my hips. Would this pattern allow me to make it longer?
Can a weight 4 100% cotton yarn be substituted? I don’t use animal fiber.
Hope i can make it. Thanks for the tutorial
