I swear to God this version of this song makes me happy every time I listen to it. Just seeing the joy on the faces of those in the band, and that of those watching is a gift. When I hear it on my playlist I imagine seeing the band feeling every minute of this. I have see TTB a number of times and they never disappoint. His playing, her singing, his singing, his drumming, what more could you ask for in life?

One of Derek's tricks is that he grabs a blast of open notes between phrases when he's soloing. It makes you think the guitar is taking a breath. Love that shit.

I must have watched this clip more than 100 times over the years. It still gives me goosebumps. Trucks gives a masterclass in solo-building, but what is so striking is how the entire band travels the same musical journey so seamlessly. As good as it gets.

This is the song that first turned me on to these guys; watching the Crossroads concert on the tube. I'm 65, and it's been a long time since I went to a rock concert. (Except a little dinner theatre thing in Chicago with Leon Russell a couple years ago). But this is the first new group to really get me excited about music in a long, long time. I appreciate the Mayers, the Bramhalls, and a select few other 'newer' faces, but they're the exception to the rule, imho, and these guys have really got it all; particularly with the new band. I saw them last month in Dayton; great concert. No worries about music's future with these guys out there.

I'm 59, still seeing some amazing music (Kenny Wayne Shepherd in a 700 seat venue in NH in Aug!), and will be seeing TTB in Boston in a month or so. I'm so looking forward to it. Anyway and Keep on Growing need to be on the playlist. Mayer is under rated and Doyle is playing the same venue that KWS played. I like him better in a supporting roll. For all the times I felt I was born ten years too late to see many of the acts live (in their heyday), since 2010 I'm thrilled to be right where I am in the rock 'n 'roll timeline. They've hooked me, body and soul, and if there's a heaven - it's a couple of decent seats at as many of their gigs as I can make while I'm still breathing and they're still jammin'...😍

I remember being madly in love with Susan Tedeschi for most of the 90s and being a huge fan of Derek for most of the early 2000s. They e two of my titans of the music I loved. This performance will always be a pillar of human existence, because I lost my skittles and was enamored with this performance. It was EVERYTHING. Not long after, Tedeschi Trucks was announced, and I was in nirvana. This was what music should be, the union of two absolutely legendary musicians. About that time, someone said.... "you know they're married, right?" and my universe collapsed. This is the best song TTB has ever done as far as I'[m concerned, because I equate this to the first.

Derek’s first solo on this is straight up brilliant. I’ve come back to watch this dozens of times and I can hear that solo note for note in my head at this point. It’s not the most groundbreaking piece of improvisational guitar of all time. It’s not a 5 minute face melting solo. But he makes every note count and it’s sheer perfection. He starts slow and beautifully builds into a crescendo. And for a guy known for his slide playing, this is about as good as I’ve heard him and there’s no slide to be seen.
