This is the Allman brothers I grew up with. Warren n Derek are my generations Dickie n Duane. And imho, they play just as well together. They read each other without even having to think. It’s great to see ☺️
I always liked the Aikman Bros, but had never seen them. But I really liked Warren Haynes with The Dead, and decided to see them. One of the best I ever saw live, but then this long haired blonde guy started in on the slide and I knew I was probably seeing the best guitarist I ever would. That was over 20 years ago and to this day Derek Trucks is still the best I ever saw live.
THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND WOULD BE VERY PROUD OF THIS VERSION, MAGNIFICENT, brings back great memories of early 70s, i am 72 years young, love my clssic rock-blues.....the best...
With a tear in my eye, I gotta say, that it is a privilege to still hear classic ABB songs performed with such heart and soul as Warren and Derek bring to the table. Absolutely stunning performances from the whole band, too! :) Great stuff!
You can really tell that these two guys liked the sounds of the Allman Brothers Band in their heyday. When they're feelin' it, they tear it up pretty good, eh?
@shawnmcvey7789 I heard him interviewed on a podcast last year and he casually mentioned that he and Susan are empty nesters because both their kids have gone off to college. Derek's kids are grown ups! Time flies!
I attended my first concert in Houston in the summer of 1971 and it was iconic, first the Texas boys in the ZZ Top band came out first, ZZ was 2 years old at the time and destined for greatness, then the Allman Brothers with Dwayne and Dicky and Gregg, Barry on bass and Trucks and the other drummer came out and stunned the crowd with live music that was almost too good to be humanly possible to produce, and then the last band was Quicksilver Messenger Service and they wrapped up the evening. John Cipollina the San Fran legend played his guitar like his life depended on it and man was he good, but Dwayne and Dicky and the ABB were instantly sacrosanct in my mind from that day onward. I don't think it matters if you are from the south or north, if you like music then southern blues rock is majestic. I played on a college basketball team that was loaded with excellent black stud ball players and we went out one night in my 67 SS Chevelle with excellent loudspeakers and we listened to Al Green and then I slipped the ABB at Filmore East and these guys had just finished a cigar size Panama Red joint and all they could say was OMG, who is this band.
I had the privilege of meeting Warren, Susan, and Derek a few days before this concert. They played at a small charity event in the city, and spent 4 straight days playing music for multiple fundraising efforts. These are not only great musicians, but also great people. I guess those 2 things do tend to go hand in hand though…long live ABB!
Hard to pick a highlight with so many to choose from that night - but I was there and I can say that this was the musical peak of the whole show - a top moment of my life to witness this in person!
Just an amazing feel for the music when these two guitar maestros are on stage together . There are some great combos out there but these two take some beating . Thanks for all those great ABB songs you have both contributed over the years . RIP the ABB who are no longer here with us 🙏
I was 16 when I first heard this around 1971...knowing nothing about anything, I thought it was a cover of an old folk song from the South, circa Civil War era. Fell in ,love with the ABB then and there...what a gift Warren and Derek have given all of us in continuing this truly great music.
This stuff is even more special since they've each been doing their own thing for some years now. These two dudes are one of the greatest guitar duos ever, and not just because they make incredible music but because they still clearly love playing together.
historic beautiful piece of music by the legendary Allman Brothers band re-proposed by the great Warren Heynes with Derek Trucks and an extraordinary band!
Man I love these guys so much. Been goin to Allman brothers, Warren/Govt Mule festivals for years but them teaming up with DMB for this shoes what an all star cast of musicians can do and how special it can be. Dave is very underrated in certain aspects even though he sells out every show he does. He's always been in his own realm but Warren LOVES joining him. I hung out with Warren and Mule in Hunter Mountain. I ran into them in the lobby and they invited me back to their room to hang and have a few. What a great group of guys and then saw Warren the next morning on the walk to the stage and took pics with him. Mountain Jam was special every year
A true testament to the power grace and fire of THE ALLMAN BROTHERS music in all their electric glory loud blazing and heartfelt a moment and magical time now crystallized in our hearts forevermore
Been living in Macon Georgia for 6 years now and seen govt mule and tedeschi trucks band here at the auditorium and it's a whole nother experience where there's so much Allman history
Absolutely brilliant what else can I say Kevin the bass player from the opening notes just rip this up the whole band was so tight and sounding great together absolutely without a doubt nailing this classic man. I got goosebumps and that’s something that rocks of 63-year-old man, I’m a bass player. Also this was absolutely beautiful. Can’t wait to see the Warren Haynes band. I hope Derek is playing with them then.
this just popped up i had to watch Derick & Warren ,My God theses 2 are an unstoppable team Derick Your Dad Butch is looking down and in his prime of glorie .. thank you so much
Saw a similar version of The Allman Bros. Band back in 2005 with Warren and Derek Trucks. Then saw Clapton with Derek live in Bangkok. Masters of their craft🎸☯️
I feel so lucky to have been there for this. Warren and Derek together are truly magical. I hadn’t seen them play Whipping Post together in a decade (I missed out on the Brothers show in March 2020).
I love Warren Haynes! Whipping Post has always been one of my favorite songs! ❤ Warren is the amazing on Guitar 🎸 along with his whole band! Greatness is being displayed here!
This might be the only band I've ever heard that could overpower a Derek Trucks solo. He always finds a way to be heard over everyone else, I've never seen him run out of volume before.
These both guys are defintely the best guitar players at today's time. And they are the perfect followers of Duane and Dickie in playing sensational Southern-Style rockmusic. I'd really love to see and hear Warren and Derek in Germany added with Susan Tedeschi. Love your way of playing music definitely.
Those two drummers from the Tedeschi Trucks Band are amazing. Of course the guitar-players and the man with the bass are simply two of the best in nowadays rock. Derek for me is the very best.
Please release more pro shot / sound from this night. One of the best nights of music and while the stream was great, the sound wasn’t anything like this video. The whole thing should be released like this! 🙏🏼
Awesome!! The only thing really missing is Butch's tympani at the end. RIP to the fallen, God Bless Jai Johanny Johanson and The Road Goes on Forever!!!
There haven’t been 2 guitarists who have better chemistry than these 2 since Duane and Dickey. Love hearing them play together!!
Obviously you've never really listened to the apartment jams with Clapton and Duane, 8hrs of unscripted jamming that is beyond amazing
@@lesheath6216 obviously no one cares what you have heard.
@@lesheath6216 😪😪😪😴💤💤💤💤
@@lesheath6216holy shit let people have their opinions and quit making every musical statement a goddamn competition. Its so annoying.
Jack pearson all day any day
This is the Allman brothers I grew up with. Warren n Derek are my generations Dickie n Duane. And imho, they play just as well together. They read each other without even having to think. It’s great to see ☺️
I’m 69, I did grow up with Duane and Dickey, and I’d have to say they are probably better at playing together. They are really unbelievable 💯
I always liked the Aikman Bros, but had never seen them. But I really liked Warren Haynes with The Dead, and decided to see them. Not sure why it doesn't recognize Allman and auto corrects it to Aikman of all things.

I'll say with the connections, they're family... ❤ It's in their blood!!! 🎉🎉🎉
You can really tell that these two guys liked the sounds of the Allman Brothers Band in their heyday. When they're feelin' it, they tear it up pretty good, eh?
Warren and Derek go together like peanut butter and jelly!
2 of the top 10 living guitarists just doing what they do✌️
Love Kevin's bass tone on those first couple of notes. And it's always great to hear Warren and Derek together.
the guy can bring the thunder! (ala "the Woodshed"), he's a perfect fit!
Kevin absolutely rocks, get addition to Mule and WHB! He is a monster.
How do you like that Nudie Jacket?
His bass tone is perfect for Whipping Post.
What model bass is that?
My heart inexplicably fills with great joy whenever these two gentlemen get together 🙌🙌
Trucks showing serious emotion and clearly having fun. Not often he shows it in his stage manorism. Lol. Stellar player. One of the greatest living!
I *love* the slightly more confident elder statesman version of Derek.
@shawnmcvey7789 I heard him interviewed on a podcast last year and he casually mentioned that he and Susan are empty nesters because both their kids have gone off to college. Derek's kids are grown ups! Time flies!
I find his attack and choice of notes very similar to Jimmy Herring, the blazing speed and rhythms are from a drumming genetic family.
Warren Hayne's bassist is so cool and good.

That bass is vicious!!! The whole performance is phenomenal. The boys are smiling down on em❤❤❤
THAT BASS PLAYER IS SICK!
HE'S HIRED
Great Bass player. Kevin Scott is a monster!!!
could listen to these boys play all day. ALL day.

This band should tour , hit 5-6 major cities.
LA,Denver,Dallas,Chicago,NYC,ATL
And Boston!
How about 5-6 “Woodstock” style events? Forget the “cities.”
Highlight of the Soulshine Benefit ❤🔥❤🔥🎶🙏😊hopefully they'll raised lots of money for the good people of n carolina and florida❤
wowsa Warren and Derek playing together wish I was there
Always good to see Warren and Trucks ripping on some Allman Brothers!
Two amazing Musicians
Wish they’d collaborate a lot more.
Warren is the king of soul. Man, he just pours it out in buckets. One of my favorites and Trucks is killing it too.
This stuff is even more special since they've each been doing their own thing for some years now.
These two dudes are one of the greatest guitar duos ever, and not just because they make incredible music but because they still clearly love playing together.
I've been to a lot of concerts. Soulshine was one of the greatest nights of my life, as a DMB and friends fan.
WOW...They would all be proud & nobody can do it better than Warren & Derek..BRAVO🍄🍑
Man, do I miss seeing these two together live!
Thank goodness I at least have this! Absolutely epic!❤

Nice! They even resurected Dusty Hill for this event
Now that’s live music!!!!!!
Some songs are timeless. This is one of them. Thank you Warren and Derek.

Badass song, love it. Played on it on 50years birthday. Cheers from Sweden🇸🇪

Goose bumps i tell ya..my all time favorite tune..amazing tribute from these amazing musicians..thank you..
Derek is just an absolute force of nature with an SG in his hands. Dudes changing the barometric pressure in that room. 😂😂
Wow! Duane, Gregg and Dickie live again.. Warren and Derek are beyond amazing! Great band also - everyone is so good.
Thank the lord for Derek trucks and Warren Hayes

Oh man..how I needed that!!!
I saw the Allman Brothers Band over 30x between '89 & early 2000s... so this really hits me in the feels
Love it! Takes me back to the early '70's😊
ABB lives on with these 2 gentlemen...the road goes on forever
This was on my daughter’s birthday! A special treat for a band we both love! ❤️
Warren and Derek need to do an Allman bros “dead and co” thing
Pure 🔥. God bless America from WNC. Thank you boys.

OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
killer , and a great crowd. AB music never loses its power, thanks to AB musicians . Carry that torch !!
Derek and Warren both play to make the other sound better. Love them both; they respect the music more than the ego
Derek probably the best living guitarist alive today!
Warren is no bum either!
Amazing, Derek!!
Derek Trucks is amazing even without a slide, and i’m kot even surprised!
Little shout out to Warren's vocals!
Warren eres el uno
Pure Magic! What a JAM!! 👍
Excellent..
This is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING
Simply epic.
My words, exactly!
That look between Warren and Derek 6:28
