The auto tune is so strong you can actually hear it. You can hear it pulling his voice back on pitch. They really tried to hide it but if you know what to listen for it’s really obvious.

oh it’s so painfully clear.. even people without much musical knowledge i’m convinced should be able to tell something is strange. autotune was working overtime to salvage whatever shit was actually his singing.. i’d be surprised if they didn’t have to manually adjust notes for most of it

It’s a problem with the music industry in general. Anyone that can kind of carry a tune can have their voice overproduced to be palatable to the masses. I think we can all name an artist we may even like that is actually a terrible singer. It’s sad that James gets this chance when there are actually talented singers out there who will never be discovered.
