TBH, As a Sonic Fan and after finding out about Sonic Passion and how vile it is, I was disgusted, I found out about during the Sonic Unleashed hype and (at that time that game was make or break for me) and between the whole Spax3, Chris-Chan, ECT at the time, I saw the Sonic Fanbase as bad as the Anime Fans. I mostly blame the Archie Comics and shows like Sonic Satam and Sonic X for spawning these weird Sonic Fanboys/Fangirls because of how (Mostly the Archie Sonic Comic and Sonic Satam) and how after Issue 50 of the Archie books felt like Fan Fiction.
Whole heartedly agree. Also yes Archie comics jumped the shark hard after 50 but that’s because of several issues like Ken penders and many other things
From what I have see a lot off fandoms can have toxic fandoms. There are Jujutsu Kaisen 'fans' that have threated Gege Akutami because they did not like how the story was going. Same with some My hero academia fans with Kohei Horikoshi.
Omg yeah the jjk got wild cause there was a law going around that may have gone into effect in Japan where gege’s identity would have been public and people were frothing. The my hero drama about endeavor was bad too like yeeeeeeah
