Lupo or A2 3L transmission failure fix

  • Car stalled on motorway and did not move forward as it lost all power. Stop and start it will move again little. In tiptronic mode car continued to work on first and second gear only. Try to put third and it lost its power.
    Fault codes were:
    00263 - transmission
    27-10 implausible signal - intermitted
    00789- backup switch (F41)
    27-10 implausible signal - intermitted
    00297 - gearbox speed sensor (38)
    03-10 no signal - intermitted
    This is pretty common fault and its easy to fix before it brakes on the road. Part can be replaced from over the engine.

    I own a 3l with over 270 000km and still doing 2,7-2,9l / 100km.
    Although I never had any major problems, I appreciate all the videos you post and learn as much as I can.

    and you should always make a basic adjustment with VCDS and zero-rise physically the levers at the changing-mechanishm (gangs teller) when you change that lever..

    excuse me.. i have made a mistake and removed the automatic gear box pump unit from my lupo 3L .i am talking about the pipes the goes to the motor. what should i do after i put the pipes back and full the tank with hydrolic and put the connector?? do i need addaptation ? bleeding ??? please help. thanx

    I have a Vw Lupo 1.2 tdi 3L
    that has a problem with a gear
    the gears from first to fifth
    working properly,the clutch is working properly
    the problem and in reverse,
    the reverse gear does not fit almost never,
    there are no errors in the control unit
    Help me

      I have fixed same problem few days ago. Problem caused by Rear gear sensor, located on gearbox forward. Check this sensor, cable etc. Make sure the reverse lights also fault

    it's not just wise to buy a new one, you NEED to buy a new one... if there's any slack in those joints you can't make the basic adjustment of the gearbox! You will get a RTMF-failure!

      Yes if there is any slack system it will not work. However the ball size is regular that is used in many places. The oem balls arent double secured nad they pop out quite easily when worn. Yes you do need to proceed according to basic settings steps to get the calibration through all steps.

    I did a basic setting but i can still hear the klucking abit when it changes gears. Is this the problem?

    hello, I have a w lupo 2001, 1.2 tdi 3l automatic. I have a problem with it, when I start driving it every thing is ok, but after some minutes the car stops itself. so I must power off and restart the car. I have made a computer control and the defects are: 00263 transmission implausible signal. 00297 gearbox speed sensor ( g38) no signal. 00841 transmission hydraulic pressure sensor ( g270).

      Reason is propably faulty pressure sensor or something else related to that. How many changes can you make before the pump starts again?. see video how to test your pressure accumulator video...

    hey hello my dear friend. i have a problem. using vcds. gear actuator adaptation. it gets stuck on searching right after the ign on. then it just searching. no fault codes. no errors. anyone knows this prob? thx

      Hi. You may want to take a look at this Ross-Tech webpage (google for "5-Speed Electronic Manual Transmission (085)" and then read the part called "common issues". Citing from it: "The connection to the control module may be interrupted after starting the engine, as long as you do NOT
      switch of the ignition the cntrol module will continue at exactly the
      same position where the connection got interrupted. Step back into the
      basic setting as usual."
