I still have all my magazines talking about the upcoming PlayStation home console. Mortal Kombat 3’s arcade port was the selling point for me. Along with games like Ridge Racer, Loaded, Twisted Metal, Resident Evil and Castlevania SOTN made me a forever gamer!

good job bro!!! You're doing a great job, keep it up and keep it going!!! i really like how you're tackling the topic's that you've already covered and enjoy your overall attitude and most importantly, the lack of awkward corny/cheesy edginess that all the other growing youtube gaming channels are all doing lol just to follow the trend and latch onto whatever is popular and copying the editing style and all that too lol i am tired and dislike all that bloat that they're doing, and your channel is a really refreshing breath of air!! I've subbed and will share you channel to keep things up!! KEEP GOING
The Saturn's cd music player was excellent, and I've only ever played with one better interface (the Nuon). Also the laser was a lot more reliable than the PS1s (from personal use).
@@grantkeller4634 the Saturn's library is quite amazing. Specially if you play Japanese games. There are so many gems. The PS1 still wins but the Saturn was incredible.
@@gtPacheko if you were living in the US back in the 90’s you had to special order Japanese exclusives from a catalogue, which only a small number of enthusiasts did. Of course the whole ROM set is easily available if you’re talking about the modern day.
The Walkman was a portable cassette player where as the GameBoy was a portable games console. I appreciate they were both portable but that aside they were very different products
Nintendo had the prototype for some Mario 64 moves in Donkey Kong 94 on the gameboy. Still crazy pulling of those moves with limited controls of a gameboy. Kind like a jump into a handstand to get the triplejump move.
Those "shapes" on the psx controller buttons are japanese train signals (i.e. the signs on the side of the track). Given that trains have a special place in japanese culture, these signs didn't count as such a big design stunt.
That's interesting, I'll have to look into that. Whenever I researched the topic, I'd find interviews with the controllers designer saying that the shapes were meant to be easy to intuit on their own. O and X being "yes" and "no" makes sense, but the other two are a bit more abstract. Triangle is meant to represent pointing or viewpoint (i.e. camera controls), while Square represents paper or documents (i.e. menus). It's not complete nonsense, but I can say from experience that a lot of people back then needed time to adjust to PS1's button layout.
@@GamingintheAM0801 Yep, I got the PSX at launch and those buttons were... just as amazing as they were confusing. Unfortunately i couldn't find the source with the train signals again myself, damn... Great video btw! Makes me real tempted to dust off some classics.

Oh yeah, the controller symbols actually do have a meaning! Square is a map or menu, Triangle is for viewpoint, Circle is yes and X is no. Considering that Sega and Microsoft both just used the alphabet thing that Nintendo did, this is a cool little innovation

Of course companies aren’t friends that are in the same industry, the point isn’t to make friends in business unless it’s mutually beneficial. Capitalism is the best system possible, and we are already having too much government interference in business as it is. The government should not have as much involvement with private companies as they do right now, between regulations and using them as tools to control people’s freedoms. So I hope after this coming week new regulations start being put in place restricting government involvement and reducing the ability of the government to access information obtained by companies on their consumers. The biggest thing that needs to be done is legislation preventing the government from telling companies what they can and can’t say. In general return to stricter adherence to the constitution and bill of rights is needed.
