@@williamfulgham2010 Reminds me of the violin playing of Jasha Heifitz being described as cold because he looked so controlled and austere while performing. But if you closed your eyes, his passionate playing was revealed.
My 1st fake book had this song. Black book. It was purchased from under the counter at the local music store. I am 80 now and I believe I was in my teens. I have not heard it too much since then.
I played out of a few of those, myself, but not as well as you, I am thinking! Oh yeh ... I'm 72 and been playing guitar for ... well, currently in year 59 ...
Interesting that they play Sections A and B right through every time. However, unlike Ewan and Barnabus, Shaye herself plays her solo on Section A only. Here in England, bands tend to stick on B after a while. For the final ensemble only, Tuba Skinny drop Section A (note Shaye's finger pointing down at 4 mins 52 secs to tell them to go straight to Section B to finish).
Note the rip in Barnabus pant leg. Better get a chain guard on his bike 🚲😁 Info; They all travel NO by bicycles. Its kinda cool how they arrive to the gig at different times, knowing exactly the good spot to lock the bikes . Todd and Robin use little trailers hooked to their bikes to get their instruments to and fro. All very approachable and enjoyable to talk to !😎
Evan Bleach-fantastic clarinetist rode a bicycle to this gig!! So did the Barnabus Jones excellent trombone player perhaps, but he wasn't so careful with his dress! Hahaha! Wonder if it was the same bicycle that suceeded with the trombone where it failed with the clarinet! Hmmm!
Excellent information and observation. Now I see that the clarinetist has his sock over the right pant leg to prevent it from getting caught in the front sprocket And you see the trombones front pant leg is intimately acquainted with its bicycle.
One of my favorites played by one of my jazz favorites! Does Tuba Skinny still play on Royal St.? If so, which day of the week. I will be in nola next week and would love to see them.
Fucking ridiculously awesome came out of my mouth. Every comment helps these - in my view - American Wonders - comment on UA-cam and help their ratings...
Evan Bleach-fantastic clarinetist !!
Congratulejszen !!!
I never get tired of listening to this number. I've lost count of how many times I've watched this. It always cheers me up 😊
Don't ever let anyone talk you into changing the formula. You've got it perfect. Keep on keeping on.
These comments about their not smiling or dressing up drive me nuts! Irrelevant!
@@hank1519 Their heart shows through in their music and does all the smiling for them.

Shaye Cohn aways beautiful 😍😍😍😍
Such fun. Definately the world's best band.
Those wacky clarinet players and their crazy socks................god love em!!! Thanks Skinny!
Wow... a rare Shaye smile at 2:41. She has the best job in the world - asking for exactly the kind of music she wants to hear. Best group ever.
stillrestless99 rare is getting

stillrestless99 awesome, thank you😏
You betcha!
The dog is priceless. Perfect! It goes along with the musicians' deadpan expressions. One hopes that is all part of the show.

Currently one of my fave tunes to play. Not a lot of versions out there with the lyrics though.
You should open your own footwear line. It would go in Htown!!
The Dog is mascot of the group.
It is " SOUTH " ( Moten & Hayes ,1824 ).
1924 - sorry .
Thanks. After comparing I changed the title.
Flea dog band amazing
o melhor de tudo é o cachorro lol
Vou gastar mais uma vez meu vocábulo🤔. Where It is this? New Orleans?
Not a Les Paul or Marshall stack in sight. What's the matter with this group?? :-)

Even the dog have a better taste in music than the generic human nowdays :D :D
Does the four-legged member of the band have a name?
I think he answerd to Toupolu..

No. The title is 'South'. Composed by Benny Moten, Thomas Hayes, & (words) Ray Charles in 1924.
Who is the dog in many of the TubaSkinny videos?
The dog doesnt seem all that impressed by these hot licks.
Génial, réjouissant, le chien derrière mdr, tranquille
Le chien s'appelle Tupelo et appartient à Barnabus (le tromboniste).
The old dog keeps time with the scratching.
Please de flea that dog But this is my soul music.
The red-haired musician is looking for his pipe all the time.
The loafer pretends that he cannot find it ))
If the washboard player or the mascot leaves, I'd like to audition.
ive Got me snare drum ready to join
🤔here i smelt it and played it off and someone blamed it on my mum, so i came to own it😏
That dog....
I emm at don't give a fuck
wait around & let me drag you back to the best place not on earth🤔
