    Yeah, seems like that larger streamer tried to get their community to massreport. The whole "wink-wink nudge-nudge, oh I didn't do it, the viewers acted on their own after I showcased their name."
    If I was playing the game, and a "teammate" did that to me, it would make me want to stop playing the game. I mean, this is not like spawncamping in a PVP game, this was going against your own team. Many video game companies have implemented rules against this, typically under "Griefing" because it negatively impacts other's enjoyment. It can also be "Cheating" because they are unfairly getting the rewards. That being said, if DbD has no rules against it, I would expect it to keep happening.

      Working against your team is called "game throwing", and it's a bannable offense in quite a few well-moderated games

  • @luciferriding2762

    This was not a clip of Farming, this was a clip of Griefing, It is Bannable and Reportable. If Farming takes place it should allow ALL survivors remaining to Escape, not choosing between them, That is where the differenciation exists.
    Anyone that does not want to farm in this situation can always ask to leave the match by getting hooked. Of course some killers dont recognise when someone is asking to leave, but that is a side note.
    On your other point. The reason people are upset about the crowns is there is no way of showing other players that you are long stime supporter and veteran in the game except through cosmetics. The prestige level of your character means nothing so the Crowns were a sign that you were there in whichever year they came from.

    Farming for blood points isn’t a necessity in dbd to unlock event things - doing challenges is. Very different tasks lol personally I hate farming for points I find it so boring. I don’t mind if other people want to farm, but don’t hold me hostage and not let me leave the game - that’s when it annoys me the most 😂 I mostly play dbd on stream only and I enjoy playing the game normally. Even if I get all the bloodpoint that doesn’t make it more enjoyable for me

      Well, if someone takes the mentality of a competitive player, I’d say other players aren’t responsible for your enjoyment and if you don’t like the way someone is playing, then play something else. These are all things said to me, by comp players. Now casual players are doing something competitive community doesn’t like and now all the sudden it’s a problem. The point is the mentality of “I don’t care about your fun” is the issue.

    I don't have hundreds of hours in DBD because its just not my kind game but I do occassionally play with friends, but when I was getting into it ( Killer main ) I would farm if the survivors wanted to. I'm also that type of killer who is goofy and fun and not a sweat (unless you wanna be toxic to another survivor for no reason). I'm not very good at the game as killer or survivor but I try and make games fun for the others I am with , wether its as Killer or Survivor.

    • @quinnymyers
      @quinnymyers 5 днів тому +2

      Most of the DBD Quest, are design around on how to actually play the game, like fix 3 Gens, fully heal 2 teammates, earn x amount of bloodpoints, hook 3 survivors, damage 4 Gens. NONE of the challenges says it has to be on one match. only a few do, and because they are easy to achieve. but the farming is more towards the end of the game xp, where everyone gets scored according to their grain of salt to the team.
      If you were constantly looping the killer, you are gonna get a high scored on Boldness. than the other 3 categories, same with if you are constantly healing others and doing gen, your score is gonna be higher on those categories. Which goes towards your ranking of Killer or Survivor

    It's been a while since I've read over what BHVR will ban players for. I only really know that blatant hacking and verbal abuse in endgame chat are because I've had to report both several times in my hours playing. However I think farming falls more into a grey area. I don't think you're technically allowed to be teaming up with the killer as a survivor to intentionally get other survivors caught (like what happened in that video with the Mikaela and Skull Merchant) but I don't think these rules are enforced well. At least not anymore (I started playing in 2019 so I'm not sure about how it was dealt with before that period). I personally don't feel normal farming where all 5 players are in on it should be considered reportable because no one is really getting hurt here, but sabotaging your own team because they don't want to farm should at least be frowned upon. Maybe even given a temp ban? That's just my take though. Regardless, you definitely should not be sending your audience to mass report a person for something like this.

  • @alexarmstrong6827
    @alexarmstrong6827 5 днів тому +13

    Seems like an average dbd game to me- people being jerks and complaining on twitter.
    Here's my 2 sense from the perspective of a player who has a little over 600 hours: all of my "farming" games have been super fun and are usually the survivors and killers dicking around and not taking the game seriously. Survivors will still do gens, and killers will still hook people. HOWEVER this is usually under a mutual agreement that isn't being spoken, and is usually communicated by actions (ie killers smacking gens or pallets). You can disconnect from the game, the only downside is you get a 2-5 minute penalty (where you cannot join a game during those 2-5 min) and you don't get your blood points. This seems less like farming, and more like teaming up with the killer which is a bannable offense. A player dcing from a game isn't a bannable offense. If a player doesn't want to farm and wants to play th game normally, then treat them that way.

    to be clear, the battlepass for dbd is called the rift. you can unlock everything in the rift with normal gameplay, but theres also a set of challenges that wll help you clear more of the rift faster. the rift isnt connected to twisted masqurade event but there are coesmetics that can be unlocked by completeing challenges as a communities, all of which can be completed with the event gameplay.
    also bodyblocking and cooperating with the killer to help kill your teammates is strictly against the rules and is reportable. people who blame people for not wanting to farm are undeniably in the wrong, and are only upset because their actions are catching up to them.
    i say this as someone who normally plays the game normally, but sometimes as the killer it just doesnt feel right to kill everyone quickly. that or im a killer on the raccoon police station map and want two survivours to open one exit gate each cause its a achievement to open the exit gates and escape 20 times from that map. thats the closest i get to farming, playing normlly unless its either a)rpd or b) i dont feel to right just playing normally cause one or two survivours tried to sandbag to the point i noticed it.
    there was one time where i was in a game with a bunch of people and came up to someone afk with with half of the survivours trying to get said afk persons attention. i was feelinng kiind that dy so i figured id pick up the afk player and just hold them until they came back. ended up accidentally farming with all the survivours and felt bad about the thought of stopping cause it felt like everyone there was just being nice-from what little info i had as a solo-queue killer.
    i cant imagine the mindset of getting mad at someone for not farming and actually playing the game-it sounds like how a 6 year-old would want to play the game. makes the mikelas comment of "grow up" all the more ironic. someone playing like they arent even old enough to have a single social media account telling others to grow up for not wanting to be undebatably sand bagged is a level irony that makes me want to gag.

    Farming isn't that big of a deal imo. I'm a killer main with over 2k hours and often play fair or farm, and whenever there is an event with 150% base bonus for bloodpoints which can go up to like, 650%, it makes sense to farm. One game of farming every now and then isn't going to ruin your day and if it does, play the normal mode. Saying it should be a bannable offense is chronically online i fear. If one survivor doesn't want to farm out of 3 that do, i'm going to listen to the 3 that do and just get the other one out of the game since they don't want to be in it. Farming games take like 10-15 mins just get it over with lol

  • @whoahanant
    @whoahanant 3 дні тому

    It's pretty normal to get banned, warned or temporarily banned for "team throwing" or "griefing" in other games.
    Whatever the killer is doing is whatever because they're on the other team. But it's trash to help the killer as an enemy.
    I'd say yeah it should be a reportable offense because it is something you get punished for in other games.

  • @Silverara.
    @Silverara. 5 днів тому +1

    Farming is generally okay, but some players would rather just play the game-- which is valid. It's technically reportable since the killer is cooperating with other survivors. Mikaela is def in the wrong though for body blocking & working with the killer, which makes both the killer & the Mikaela reportable for their actions.
    EDIT: I do think the guy went overboard by sharing their info on Twitter to do a mass report when one report with a recording of the match would work fine. If anything they're giving Behavior more reports just to look at the same offense over & over again. Sounds counterproductive considering there are reports of cheaters all the time in this game & they could be focusing on that.

  • @DeadVoxel
    @DeadVoxel 2 дні тому

    I think there's nothing inherently wrong with getting a killer who wants to farm once in a blue moon, as long as everyone in the match is on the same page. Forcing someone to collaborate by body-blocking, however, is a pretty nasty move regardless. So far during this anniversary, I've had more normal matches than I have seen killers who wanted to farm. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be. I see this more as "it is what it is", I don't think it should be that big of a deal. Again, as long as both parties are on the same page
    As for hats... I get that. But I also think it's nice for newer players who have missed out on the cosmetics. This is also just another case of "it is what it is". There are many times in games where newer players are given previously hard-to-get stuff for free. If you earned the hats through hard means, good, it shows the dedication and it's impressive. If you earned them via a code, well. It's just there. Not to mention it's an anniversary, which I think is the most appropriate time to give away things. Besides, hasn't there already been a nearly identical code that also gave those hats for free? Why is it a problem only now?

    I rather befriend the killer, and let them damage the gen I'm working on or hit me here and there than full on force other people to help the killer farm. NGL there has been times, that the killer full on ignores everyone but one survivor, or they are friendly in the beginning and then go full on predator on the last minute letting one person live and escape or go for the 4k. But the few cases I have seen farming, is when there is only 2 survivors left on the map.

    About the free stuff: Its very hard to Get special stuff in dbd, and most of the time u have to pay for it with money. Then they will give it for free bc players dont want to play this game, no one gives f for it, either u play for 20h+ or u have to pay with money. Players are angry and want to leave so they are giving stuff for free. And the players that spend that time to Get it - wasted time to Get "special" stuff that others can Get for free.

    I have hundreds of hours of DbD on the ps4. When it comes to farming, while I think it's boring, it's not a big deal. I've had a few killers that wanted to farm and I would help them out in game and it wouldn't take no 20 minutes. It fact, I've had a lot of farming matches that were shorter in time than normal games so farming isn't always going to take a long time. But it is boring as I do enjoy playing the game as it's meant time.
    As for the code for the hats, I got them all on the ps4 but after I moved in with my boyfriend a few years ago, I stoped playing DbD on the ps4 (couldn't pay for the time for both of us and I have a gaming laptop so he got time on his ps4) So I am now waiting for Cross-progression to get all the characters and things I had on the ps4 to pull them to the pc. However, that code to get the hats was nice. I got all the hats that I worked hard to get before on my pc right away. While I understand it is annoying that people can get it for free, new people started playing since then so it gives them a chance for them too.
