A UPS is not about keeping items running in power outages, but about protecting valuable electronics that could possibly be damaged from sudden loss of power (e.g. computers). It is to give you time to properly shut it down.
From the manual: Alarm setting: The audible alarm can be turned Off or On by double click the POWER button. The default setting is for the Alarm On. To turn the Alarm Off, double click the button. You will hear two short beeps when the Alarm is turned off. To turn the Alarm back On, double click the button. You will hear a single short beep when the Alarm is turned on. *When the Alarm is turned Off, there will be no audible notifi- cation when the UPS reaches a low battery state.
Wow! That's what I was looking for, thanks. I live in a village where the power cuts happen randomly from time to time or during a rainstorms. For now I use a laptop so it's not a big problem but I'm planning to buy a PC and the power cuts were my top 1 concern. Thanks again that was really helpful.
These things only last a few minutes as a general rule (depends on the usage) so they are good for powering off gracefully (saving work) not to continue working (or playing). They're also good if you're in a location with power bleeps (like flicking lights) due to a poor power grid.
I enjoyed the review. I also have a whole house standby generator. I’m researching UPS mostly for my modem and router. Even though I live in the Houston area our cell service is basically nil in my neighborhood and we depend on WiFi calling.
It doesn't deliver what they say. You did not verify and did not show how long your devices staied on. Three years ago I bought a first one that cost me over $350 just to juce up my Router and my personal cloud and could not even give me one hour when they pretended hours with more than my two devices. I thought the battery was calcified so I went for an exainge but got the same resulte. So, if a $350 battery backup can't do the job for only two devices that consume so little, It is not worth it to buy them unless you are willing to put thousands of dollars for having few more devices to run for a short period of time. I would advise to modify in the way that you can replace the original battery for a bigger one. And I don't know where you are located, but here, we have power outage once and a while. It happen when bad wheater mostely like period of ice or maybe a tired transfo down the street devide that was ennough.
I bought it for the same reason + protect my computer. I have a pc game, but reading the manual, the first thing it says, to not plug anything that consume too much energy or can damage the UPS. So my question is, is it safe or not to use it for a gaming pc?
Can I assume the battery charges when it's plugged in either way? As in, the "battery power" button needs to be lit only to prevent the outages, and in advance? Not to charge the battery?
My previous PSU was destroyed because power went on and off a couple of times within seconds :( I got a new PSU and a surge protector + battery backup now. NEVER EVER plug a computer directly into a wall outlet.
It depends on the amount of power the components plugged into the battery needs. LIke a computer on idle will use less watts than a computer that is gaming. So doing so wouldn't show anything as it depends on workloads.
I bought one that is 510 watts. Bought it to run my koi ponds aerator when/if the power goes out. Seems it should run for 11 hours if that is the only device plugged in with a fully charged battery.
Have one built into my gaming laptop. :p Been rocking UPSes for a couple of decades for my desktop PC, HTPC, and A/V systems. Hell, even did a water cool and built-in UPS computer mod back in 2005.
To further clarify which side to plug certain things into, why do the directions also say to not plug in a Vacuum Cleaner into the Battery and Surge Protector side.
So I got one of these for free and I didn’t know that it was a battery back up I just connected directly to the wall and connect to my stuff like my TV and my Internet router Once in a while, it will completely turn off, even though there’s power and electricity still running through my whole apartment What do you recommend I do because it’s really annoying having to turn it on again just to watch tv and have my internet back

@@outa7192😂😂😂😂 Soooo you can still figure out how long the battery will last if you know how many watts it has and how much power the devices use. It's simple math.
@@bc_usaAnd what does that depend on? Components/workload otherwise it's not accurate and even then it's an estimate and not a direct representation of how long it will last.
I think the main purpose of this battery is for you to save any unsaved work and then quickly and safely turn of your pc, but if I had to guess it can power from 30-60 minutes.
That’s why when my desktop computer started to burn out a couple of times due to blackouts & the service centre claimed better to buy a new one as the servicing costs too much, i decided we should use laptops instead as laptops come with inbuilt batteries, so no desktop computers & no ups needed hahaha
you can change battery and used 12 volt deep cycle battery 75Amp get more out of it ok I did I have ups 350 I have 4 12 volt battery 3 7.2 Amp and 20Amp lead acid battery I was testing it today I was 2hours and half on it running my laptop and speaker but I when out so idid finish my testing yet
Hello again. How long does it last when only the monitor and computer are plugged in? I know different computers use different wattages mines and old Dell computer for work purposes im assuming low wattage like under 200 power supply
I found the answer thru amazon.... How long will the UPS power my systems after the power goes out? The LCD screen provides estimated runtimes based on the power required by connected devices during power outages. This UPS is estimated to run for 7.9 minutes at half load, 2.3 minutes for a full load.
Im looking for a battery back up for my pc that will last at least 8 hours. I work from home and I wanna be able to continue working through the day when theres a power outage. Anyone has any suggestions, please?
Yooooo I need straight answer......I have no power in the house..... How's it suppose to charge!? And why doesn't it keep power once unplugged....is this not the same as generator?? Someone please help
this is a really useless supply that only lasts 5 mins or so. just enough time for you to save and shut down! it is NOT an actual backup power supply at all! it is just an emergency save your work and shutdown supply. NOT worth it for the price.

Exactly what I needed to hear. We have a generator and I need about 30 seconds before it fires up. Thanks.
You never told us how long the charge lasts 🧐😟
I think it has to depend on your device. Some desktop takes more power than another.😢 I'm worried about mine too.
I use this UPS for my cable modem, router and NAS. Estimated runtime is 54 minutes. Cyberpower has a runtime webpage.
He said he’s using it for the time between power outage and generator online. 30 sec in my case.
My computer consumes 750 watts max. How long will it run?

That's the question that seems to be a mystery 😕
Does this work for video game consoles too? For Ps5 or any other console?

For how long can it provide power to a desktop computer during electrical outages, in terms of minutes or hours?

This type of power bar is better suited for tv/entertainment center. And a surge protector at the main fuse box wouldn't hurt either.
how long is the power cord?
What song did you use at the end of this?

what's the length of the cable itself?
During the great forest fires of 2023 in the PNW here,
the power co shut our whole town down for 8 days.

That would only be good for a basic computer but not a gaming computer. Or you could use it for your router and tv

I bet that food is the refrigerator and freezer went bad in two days too.
Awesome
Sadly this doesnt help me .. I have 2 monitor and a gaming pc with 1000w PSU
then simply get one that outputs 1000w or more you'll just have to get a surge protector by its self.
Your desktop won't be maxing at 1000w all the time
This is useless right? It is not like a Power station ? This will only last a couple of minutes right not 8 hours?
The beeping is annoying - you'd hope you could turn that off, e.g. if you wanted it to power a critical device while you sleep.
Doesn’t keep my pc on??
@@lukeandrean9514it does. But it notifies by beeping, so you can save the stuff you're working on in case the power outtage persists
You can silence the alarms by pressing the power button twice quickly.
@lukeandrean9514 use the outlets on the left side for battery backup. Right side is just surge protection.
If there is no power....how does it stay on? My pack goes off as soon as unplugged....is this not a generator u charge or what!?
My instructions say don't plug a Laser Printer into the Battery and Surge Protector side . Can I plug in an Inkjet Printer into that side?
